THE FOOD: Local Farm Fresh Ingredients

Our food is made using the finest ingredients Maine has to offer. We strive to source everything from Maine, and we enjoy the relationships we have developed by buying directly from farms and local food processors. Our farmland in Bremen affords us the opportunity to offer fresh, organically grown vegetables and locally raised, pastured meat on our pizzas. Harvest Moon is fortunate to be located in Midcoast Maine where we have access to a wide range of local seafood, meats, produce, cheeses, herbs and grains. We are committed to using wheat from Maine farms in our dough. Farm to table gives us a chance to connect our customers to the place that we love.

THE DRINK: Hand-crafted beers, wine and soft beverages

Our extensive beverage list includes an ever-changing draft and bottle list that is crafted at local breweries Oxbow, Sheepscot Valley, and Banded Horn. We also serve many other favorites such as Lagunitas and Dogfish Head. Our wine list is a great compliment to the pizzas and fresh salads.

History

Established in 2014.

THE FARM:

Our leased farm in Bremen is part of a property that was settled by the Hilton family in the 1700’s. We have grown vegetables and raised meat animals on this land for the last five years. The land is shared with other farmers, allowing us to manage costs, better utilize the potential of the land, and contribute to the growth of Maine’s food sector. We believe strongly in the value of localized food production, for the economy, for the environment.

Meet the Business Owner

Bennett C.

Business Owner

Harvest Moon grew out of my passion for the intersection of two important issues in today’s world: food and the environment. After studying agriculture and globalization at The Evergreen State College in Washington state, I moved back to my native Maine to pursue a career in the farm to table movement. I began growing garlic and other crops on a small scale and eventually began growing on the farm that I now lease. Having a hand in producing food from the ground to the plate is an exciting challenge that yields great satisfaction for me. I enjoy being part of the Maine rural revival and feel that food is a vehicle for creative and constructive social and environmental progress.
