Experience where the locals eat! Captain’s Fresh Idea Restaurant was founded in 1987 with the goal in mind to serve fresh food good enough to be called «Wicked Good.» Customers are welcome to come in and be seated in our comfortable dining room or our new screened-​in deck. We also have a speedy take-​out window if you would like to take your meal to go, or would like to sit outside on one of our picnic tables. Our takeout window also has a stocked ice cream/​dairy bar where you can be sure to find something sweet.

We offer a wide selection of food. From juicy burgers and fries to fresh steamed lobsters and clams. We also have a wide selection of specialty salads and scrumptious fried starters. But our lobster rolls are our area of expertise!

If you are in the mood for some fresh seafood consider this the place to eat! You can have clams, scallops, haddock, or shrimp. We pride ourselves in hand breading all our seafood and serving it crispy hot to our customers.

If you still have the room after eating our generous portions of food you may want to consider polishing off the meal with a homemade dessert. Choose from the homemade blueberry crumb cake, gingerbread, strawberry shortcake, or fruit pies.

Captain’s Fresh Idea is a family restaurant so kids are welcome to come and eat from our children’s menu.

History

Established in 1987.

Owner Gary started working in the restaurant industry since he was a child. Wife and co-​owner Becky also grew up in hospitality service industry. They took their love of cooking and quality food to create a restaurant where locals and tourists alike can sit down and feel like a member of the family.
