Good people and great service. Fast, reliable, and honest. May not want to hear what they have to say sometimes but be sure they are telling you the truth and are honest about their work.

I was able to get two car inspections within a few days with minimal issues on my Suburu and expected muffler/​exhaust repairs on my Ford. everywhere else in town had a one week or longer wait time, this was an issue when both cars had expired inspection stickers… oops ha! but Matt got on it right away and was a pleasure to work with. I will be returning as needed with future car issues.

So shortly after posting this review I received the following message from Midas requesting my contact info:

It has now been seven days since I received the above message with no other Messages or communications of any kind from Midas customer care! So much for wanting to «talk» Which only reinforces my opinion that this company has a careless attitude toward the safety and well being of not only their customers but all drivers on the road as a result ! I will update this post if there is any new info to share.

Hello fellow Unilocalers! My husbabd brought his ford taurus in for a tune up. it turned out to be more then thought. but its a 2007… And the full inspection of the car was dead nuts on! Great FAST service. there friendly and explanatory of issues. Great job gentlemen. highly recommend this place!

I would not have enough time in the day to fully express my gratitude to this company, specifically the Wakefield location. Upon dropping off my vehicle they are always very straightforward with me and do not make any unnecessary promises (which is how all business should be done). The prices have always been very reasonable and I am always treated with respect. ⁵⁄₅.

Update… one week later my reservoir is still full as is my radiator. As far as Matt the Midas managers comment about it including a «visual check of fluid levels» my radiator reservoir is right across from my windshield reservoir with the oil input being in the middle of both. SO seeing as my radiator reservoir was bone dry after my oil change tells me you didn’t «visually inspect» it. I filled the reservoir and it hasn’t leaked since the episode at Midas so my reservoir isn’t cracked.
The «tech» I initially talked to said they don’t fill the reservoir just the radiator, now you say the radiator is too hot and to open it could cause injury. Which is it, I’m getting 2 conflicting stories … Also my radiator cap in this cold weather would have been more than cool enough to open after doing the oil change.
So as you are aware I filed a BBB complaint requesting a refund and you cordially complied.
It was an oversight on your companies end which could have cost me a new engine.
Did I mention my reservoir and radiator haven’t leaked since I put fluid in it just a week after it being at Midas? Yeah… wait should I also add that I had an old beat up pick up truck rear wheel drive that was worth about as much as a bag of sand and I brought that truck for an oil change and was quoted $ 1600 for repairs!!!
I looked at the kid and was like seriously… You know I couldn’t even get ¹⁄₃ of that to sell it… he just put his head down and took my money for the oil change.
Oh hey… Did I mention my radiator and reservoir haven’t leaked since I filled it!!!

fast service…26.99 for an oil change… not the best price around but not the worst… a-​ok

Been there twice and have been very happy with the service. Last time I was there for suspension work I was driven home for the wait and picked up from home when the work was done. My car’s problems were resolved and at a great price. Thank you Matt and company.

Very good place to take your car! They are fast, knowledgeable and friendly. I have gotten my oil changed, tires rotated, ac fixed and more and have always been very satisfied with the service!
The prices are very reasonable!

We’ve been taking our cars to this Midas shop for some time now, and I am always impressed by the excellent job these guys do. They clearly take pride in their work and go out of their way to see that their customers are satisfied. I recently suffered the stress of learning that a used vehicle purchased for my teenage son had major problems the prior owner concealed. Kevin and Matt worked tirelessly to resolve the issues. Their honesty, diligence and concern made me feel much better about an awful situation.

Ok Unilocal why can’t you give zero stars or even negative. Because if there was ever a place that deserves it this is the one. My daughter has an old beater car that she uses in Boston. She came home and said the brakes and the tires might need to be looked at. She took it to Midas and we got the $ 1,000 quote back. They said she needed a complete brake job and two new rear tires. What’s funny the tires she questioned were the front. Needless to say we took it to D&M tire on West Main Road and they squared us away for $ 125.

How is this place in business???
Just before Christmas, I brought my car in for a $ 30 oil change prior to taking a road trip to visit family for the holidays. At Midas’s recommendation, I had them change the front brake pads (it was probably time anyway) to ensure my trip was safe.
Over $ 300 later, I start up my car and begin to pull out of the parking lot only to hear a rattle in the engine. I immediately turned around and went back, only to be told that the rattle must have been there when I brought it in. REALLY??? Am I to believe that my car’s engine rattled BEFORE the «master mechanic» (that’s what the manager called him) changed my oil and I just didn’t HEAR IT??? Bull*^%$!
They put the car on the rack and «inspected the engine» for the mysterious rattle only to conclude that my transmission needed work. WHAT??? My car has a standard transmission. Swear. They wanted me to believe that somehow, magically, my car’s standard transmission «failed» at the exact moment their «master mechanic» changed my oil. How dumb did they think I was??? I left there after speaking with the owner on the phone TWICE during this two hour debacle with a referral to a transmission place up in Warwick at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. I was planning on leaving to see family the next day. Hmmmph.
On my way home, I stopped by a lit parking lot to lift the hood and see what was going on. Low and behold, the small metal bar that holds the hood up when you’re changing the oil (or doing any kind of engine work) was laying across the engine causing the rattle. I’m not making this up!!! The «master mechanic» hadn’t replaced the latch in the latch holder and it slipped down onto the engine which rattled when I revved the engine or accelerated. Some «master mechanic». More like «master moron». DO NOT SPEND MONEY AT THIS PLACE. DO NOT GO THERE. DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT!!!

If I could give this business no stars, I would. I received a 5 day fix it ticket for state inspection. I brought it to Midas because no other shop could fit me into that time frame. Now I am very aware why that is. Firstly, I was told I needed $ 1,300 worth of repairs to make my car pass, which is ridiculous. But I paid it, and I also paid for my state inspection. My car failed. I was told to drive it 100 miles to clear the meter, and bring it back. So I did. I brought my car back 2 days later, past the 5 day time frame, and I was told I couldn’t have it inspected because the technician «is no longer with the business. It just happened today.» They said they could take an appointment. For what? You fired the technician. So now I can’t have it done, and theres no option to have it done in the future, but I already paid for it. He told me to drive to Warwick. As I’m sitting in my car, he comes out and tells me they’ve given their ex employee «temporary clearance» to work on my car because he is technically employed until the end of business hours. Fine. My car failed. I was told to put another 200 miles on it before it would pass. That’s when I left. The next day, I took my car elsewhere and guess what? It passed in 5 minutes with a grand total of 7 extra miles on the car. So not only do they over charge, they also are grossly incompetent. Adding insult to injury, the technician who passed my car looked over their service records and told me it was sad that companies like them take such advantage of people. Then I had to go to the police station to beg them to void the ticket because I did everything I could to comply with the ticket. Tomorrow, I will be going back to Midas to demand my money back for the inspection I’ll never get and wouldn’t pass anyway. That will be the last time I set foot in that business.
