Rudest owner I have ever encountered. Talks down to customers and is extremely defensive about his tasteless and poorly made food. This place will not last long with an owner that thinks it’s okay to treat his CUSTOMERS which are his BUSINESS the way he does. Reality check to the owner — a little respect goes a long way — even if your food sucks as much as it does! BEWAREOFTHISPLACE!!!

Best pizza in town! Fresh ingredients, homemade pasta, with an owner who is actually cares about what he is selling. He is very kind and accommodating, made a cheese pizza for my kids with less sauce. All items are very affordable and the eggplant parm is to die for. A total hidden gem!

The owner needs a slight adjustment in behavior, or should hire someone to deal with customers so he can stick to running the back end operations, where most of the help is needed. Customers don’t need a snarky attitude and to be impatiently stared at while they try to decide what to order. Also, this is not, I repeat NOT the best pizza in town, its not even the best Italian place within 10 miles. For $ 25 you can not completely char the bottom of my sparsely topped pizza, put next to no chicken in my chicken parm sub, and use poor quality braided rolls. If you want pizza, go to Morena’s. If you want chicken parm, go to any number of great Italian restaurants in town. If you want braided rolls, go to Farmland. Anywhere has better customer service than Italian Kitchen and better food.

This is my favorite pizza in Wakefield. I can’t get enough of the sauce and dough, and the toppings have that extra level of quality that makes you feel like you should have paid more! The grilled vegetables stand out in particular, both in salad and as pizza toppings. The owner is super friendly, so it’s always a pleasure to walk through the door.

Was hoping this place would be great and was very disappointed. Their canned-tomato-paste sauce is so boring. Add some spice, people! And that same sauce is on everything, including their SO bland pizza. The gnochi was too mushy. The ravioli wasn’t bad. Local faves remain: Best Pizza in Wakefield: Morena’s. Pasta: Massimo’s

I really wasn’t gonna write this review I waited a month. When i went to pick up my meal. veal marsala with no mushrooms, i was given a lecture that you can’t have a marsala without mushrooms. I asked if the sauce was premade with mushrooms and he said no made to order so I wondered what the big deal was. We talked a little more and I thought the owner and his son seemed like good guys that when I left I told him if i liked it i would leave him a good review on Unilocal. This was by far the worst piece of veal i have ever had in my life, i was spitting out every other piece into a cup because it was inedible. I almost feel like he butchered my meal because he didn’t think i deserved it because it wasn’t a real marsala. Well excuse me for not liking mushrooms. Mushrooms aside, it was a small piece of veal, on plain pasta, usually when you order a dish with pasta the pasta has the same sauce on there. The cost was 15 I felt robbed before I bit in, but thankful the portion was small after I consumed it. I guess I didn’t deserve sauce because I didn’t order a real marsala. This guys needs to be bitch slapped by chef ramsey he was going on about how people wont say stuff to his face and they write anonymous reviews. Well buddy I don’t want another meal at your place or for anyone to make it right. Seriously you were bragging about teaching everyone in the north end how to cook, well maybe you should stay behind the scenes I don’t think you are fit to interact with people. I was gonna chalk it up to a bad day but everytime I eat veal now I think about the horrible piece that I got from a pompous hack. I don’t give out 1 star reviews lightly.

Everything here is DELICIOUS! such a hidden gem, I like the chicken Caesar salad, so much chicken and it’s never dry!!, and lots of nice thick slices of fresh Parmesan cheese! Seriously the bowl is like 9″ wide, and it’s $ 7.99 people! Where else can you get a chicken Caesar salad for $ 8, especially one as delicious as this!!!

This location was, arguably, the best pizza place in town. It has had an identity crisis for multiple instantiations and that trend seems to be continuing. The décor is charming, owner diligent and skilled. Focusing on excellence of the ordinary may be a better plan than reaching for high quality and falling short. I had a $ 17 lunch, which was a plate of delicious fresh pasta and drink. The meal was too simple for a good meal and too expensive for a for a simple meal. Maybe keep the culinary school on the low down…

The Italian Kitchen In Wakefield, MA has North End quality dishes at reasonable prices. Keep in mind everything is made from scratch with the freshest ingredients, and when possible the chef/owner buys local. My wife and I attended one of their cooking classes. I had no idea the preparation that went into their dishes. I consider myself a pretty good cook, but what they offer is a whole new level which is best described as an art and science of exquisite old time Italian cuisine. I highly recommend you try this place and even better get some friends or family members to take a class. You’ll love it! Dr. Al Costanza

Food is ok… CUSTOMERSERVICE is awful! Don’t waste your time here. Called at 11:45am to place an order, was told by the person that answered that they didn’t open until 12. Web site says open at 11am. Also if I’m trying to establish a business I’m pretty sure I would take someone’s order rather than telling them to call back in 15mins

The sauce was pastey tasteing. No seasoning. The homemade pasta was over cooked. The raviolis tasted like they were frozen. The chicken ziti and broccoli was good. There are too many great Italian restaurants in Wakefield. Unfortunately this is not one of them.

What a shame. Tonight they officially lost me as a customer. I walked in this evening to grab a dinner to go. I was totally ignored by the young man slicing bread right in front of me at the counter and the owner who was at the pizza oven but talking to one other customer standing next to me about the making of a pizza. Oh how I wish I really were as invisible as I appeared to them. I walked out and will never go back — too many other choices in the area.

Great food, great prices and great service. What more can you ask for? We just returned from having dinner at this eatery and we were both highly impressed. They offer many gluten free options and the prices are reasonable. An A+ in my book! The owner was also visible and interacting with guests and staff which was also appreciated. It is clear that he takes great pride in his business. The restaurant is also immaculate, including the restroom. I wish them every bit of success!

I like the Pizza! Wakefield has a lot of good pizza so the competition is pretty fierce but this is the best downtown. Better than Nonnos, Brothers or that place by 7 – 11. I have had both chicken and veal parm and liked both, liked the veal more. The bread is nice, the sauce is good as were the cutlets. I have also had the Eggplant Meatballs which were good. Next up, I am going for some pasta. It is home made and I hear good things about it.

This is a wonderful new restaurant. Food is freshly made. Ralph(the owner) and his staff are wonderful and will cater to you what you ask. Today I sampled an eggplant meatball. Oh my gosh! It was wonderful Portions of the food are generous. I am there 2 to 3 days a week. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Also Ralph is now teaching classes and the class price is reasonable. Can’t wait to take my lesson this Sunday

I was going to write a negative review on this place three weeks ago about the speed of service, the lack of bread with the meal and the flavor of the sauce, however I decided against it because they were a new business. I did not want to trash them so quickly, heck I only had one meal there. So, here it is three weeks later and I went in and ordered the special of the day Eggplant Lasagna for 5.99. It looked appetizing, but that is where it judging a book or in this case a meal by it’s cover doesn’t correlate. I ordered the eggplant lasagna and Ralph the owner popped it out of the cooler and placed it on a plate. Instead of cooking it in an oven or pan to heat it up, he used a microwave and told me that«3 minutes in the microwave should do it» So, my meal came out 10 minutes later again with no bread(what kind of Italian restaurant gives food without bread anyway?) and it was as tough as shoe leather because the microwave nuked out all the water. The ricotta was like paste and the mozzarella was as hard as violin strings. I ate what I could and did not bother to ask for a refund because I didn’t have all day to wait for another meal or my money back.
