Four Points by Sheraton Wakefield Boston Hotel-Conference Center

Comfortable beds, clean rooms, and a helpful staff. What more could you want at a hotel? Oh, yes… The price. I stayed for less than $ 100 a night. You can’t go wrong here!

I had my wedding here and completely regret it. I consider myself a fairly laid back bride. I am not into the fine details of a wedding, like the linens or napkin folds, that a lot of brides are and was nonchalant about a majority of those type of particulars. However, it seemed as though the coordinator was not concerned either. It was almost as though she was not at the wedding at all. Every time my mother or my vendors were looking for her, she was no where to be found. My photographer asked me multiple times throughout the night if the coordinator was planning on coming to let us know where we were supposed to be at certain points throughout the night. But she was never around to guide my bridal party and the night seemed to stall each time we all stood around wondering where we were supposed to be. My photographer mentioned to me at the end of the night that the coordinator was «not helpful at all.»
My DJ had a similar experience. While we were lining up to be introduced, the DJ asked what the plan was. The coordinator responded with «I don’t know, this is your thing.» There was a lot of confusion with the bridal party as to whether they would be standing around the dance floor for my first dance or if they would be seated. I looked to the coordinator for guidance and asked her if the bridal party stands around the dance floor, will the view of my other guests be blocked. She responded to me with «I don’t know.» My bridal party told me even as they were walking out into the crowd that they were unsure of where they were supposed to be.
At some point in the night, hours before the wedding was over, she left. My vendors were still looking for her to help assist with the wedding. My DJ took it upon himself to help guide my new husband and I throughout the night with the timing of the cake cutting, and the mother dances. I feel as though a representative of the Sheraton should have been there guiding us as well.
I sat down at my sweetheart table to get ready for the toasts to notice that the toasting glasses I provided for my husband and I were incomplete. My husband’s glass was missing and replaced with another one. I later found his glass broken on the gift table. It was not communicated to me at all that his glass was broken and I was upset that our first toast as husband and wife were not going to be with the glasses that were special to us.
The new year was approaching and none of my guests knew about the party favors I provided which were sitting at the front of the dance floor in front of the DJ. At some point I noticed my photographer passing those items out to my guests. I am grateful that she did that for me, but confused as to why this was not handled by the Sheraton.
It seems as though the coordinator was not the only one who showed little concern for my wedding. One of my bridesmaids asked what was going to be done with the gifts. A representative of the Sheraton told her they needed to be removed «because this is a public space.» At that point she asked some of my guests to help her move my gifts to one of the hotel rooms for safe keeping. The Sheraton was no where to be found. So at the end of the night when some of my guests should have been enjoying the last songs, they were doing something that I believe should have been taken care of by the Sheraton. At the very least they should have been assisted.
While dinner was being served, my husband and I did not get a chance to eat our salads our soups. I expected to at least be asked by a server if it was ok to take my food away which clearly had not even been touched. What is more upsetting were my conversations this morning. I was appalled to hear from my guests that some of them were not even served soup. My maid of honor was told there was no soup left when she informed a server that they did not provide one for her. Then I find out that the wine service that should have been served with dinner, was not. That was included in my package and I am beyond shocked that the Sheraton would not only allow that to happen, but would knowingly break their contract with me by not fulfilling its obligations under the contract and not providing a service I paid for.
This isn’t even the full extent of how they dropped the ball. I complained to the Sheraton and they gave me some money back — but if you are thinking about having your wedding here, I would seriously consider a different venue.

I’ve stayed here three different times for a total of almost two weeks. The staff is fantastic, super friendly and always willing to help! Seriously, they are awesome. Special thanks to both Adam and Tracy for being so nice and helpful. The rooms are a great size, some could use a slight bathroom update but overall it is clean and homey. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. Some people complain about the gym not being in the hotel, but honestly, it’s a block down the road and just look at it as a little extra exercise.

Stayed overnight for a high school reunion being held in the hotel ballroom. The location is easy to get to as the hotel is right off the highway. Plenty of parking around the bulding. This is not a high end hotel, and priced accordingly. That said, the value for the offered services is very good.
The front desk attendants, as well as the rest of the staff, were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was very clean with free Wi-​Fi, charging staton, good sized TV, desk and sitting chair. The bathroom is also clean but does not have an exhaustive fan, which is a minor issue. The room is a bit smaller than larger hotels but just remember what level of hotel Four Points by Sheraton is.
The staff did a great job with service at our reunion, continually replacing and refilling food items. I never made it to the desert table but they all looked amazing and the comments matched the Four Points.
I would stay here again.

Had a bad experience at this hotel. When you first walk in, looking at the lobby you get a great impression. After checking in, we walked to our room where the door was not shut all the way… very odd. When we walked in, we were less than impressed. We had a room with a single, king size bed. The room was smaller than your average hotel room and the bathroom was very, very small. No fan in the bathroom and no fridge in the room. When I put the bathroom light on, I noticed there was hair all over the bathroom door. Gross! We went up to the front desk and explained how we thought it was weird that our door wasn’t locked and about the hair on the bathroom door. We got I offered a different room on the preferred guest floor, so we took the offer.
When we got to the second room, I was even more unimpressed. Again, small room size, and even smaller bathroom. We found it weird that you have to put your key in a slot on the wall for the AC to work. Long story short, went to bed woke up with hot air coming out of the AC. This was going to be a 90 degree day, so we were looking forward to getting ready in a cool room in the morning before heading out into the heat. We called downstairs and a technician came up shortly, which was nice but he told us he had to replace the whole unit while we were out. Still had to get ready in a very hot hotel room. For the amount we were paying for the room, we felt that it wouldn’t be worth trying to move rooms again and stay there. We were already very disappointed and would never go back there. My advice, stay away! Not worth it.

I reserved and prepaid for the room via a 3^rd party site. I paid for a 3.5 star place, however, from this hotel, we got a room and a bed that were extremely small. Absolutely uncomfortable stay. Paid for a hotel room, we got a motel like room instead. Unfriendly staff as well. Absolutely a rip off.
The only thing that is nice in this place is the lobby. That’s about it.
No comfort, lousy staff and an isolated location with no restaurants nearby.

I thought it was a pretty good place for an overnight stay while in Mass. The kids had fun. The place was clean and the entrance is very nice.
The only negative would be that I wish the pool was in the hotel instead of driving to the gym next door.

This is going to be long, and it isn’t going to be pretty, but I think it’s important. So here we go:
If you are looking for somewhere to stay for your wedding, to get ready, have your guests stay, and spend the majority of your special weekend at, be warned: LOOK ELSEWHERE.
From start to finish the four points in Wakefield was a hopeless disaster. the only positive I have to give is to the kind employee who two days in finally found us a luggage cart to hang our bridesmaid dresses on. He’s the only employee I wouldn’t fire.
My friend the bride first of all is probably the most understanding and easy going person I’ve ever met (she’s a special ed teacher after all).
1. They told her for weeks she would be able to tour the bridal suite. Up until three days before when she drove an hour to the hotel and they said they’d call her when it was ready to be seen, only to have her called an hour and a half later to tell her someone was sleeping in it.
2. Saying a room would be ready at 9am and having to wait until 4pm for it. General Manager says, «well you have to understand everyone requests an early check in, so just because we say you can have it doesn’t mean well actually be able to deliver, you just have to understand» no sir, we don’t.
3. Delivered the congratulatory champagne and strawberries for the bride and groom NOT on their wedding night. After promising us they would do it again on the right night, only to arrive back from the reception to find it had not been redelivered and the room had not been cleaned as promised. When I called to ask about the champagne and strawberries the girl at the desk said its only complimentary once and I would have to pay to have it delivered again. Only to find out there had been one set aside (this is a plus, I understand but who employed the idiot who would tell someone they have to pay for a hotel mess up).
4. There is a general misery that is oozing off the registration desk. Every employee is sad looking, they don’t smile, and at one point I was standing there and each person working was dealing with a dissatisfied customer. Saying you have five weddings in one weekend is no excuse, if you can’t accommodate people and make each customer feel like they’re the most important you need to restaff your hotel, or refer customers to one of your partner locations. It seems like after the hotel changed from the colonial they didn’t come up with an effective business plan that reflects how other Sheratons operate.
5. Rooms are ok. Ther is too much furniture for their size and the bathroom is about the size of a half bath but has a tub. Lots of peeling paint and the doors are sticky.
Bottom line. You get it.
For a one night stay it is fine. For an occasion of any sort I would sooner pitch a tent.

The pro’s: Clean room, beautiful lobby and check-​in area, very friendly front-​desk staff. Walking distance to a shopping center with many nice stores and fine restaurants. Free WiFi. The work desk has two plugs to charge your devices, plus a USB port to charge a phone or other device. The lamp on the desk also has a plug. Free bottled water in the room. Free apples at check-​in (while supplies last). TV worked, and the sleep timer worked (my last stay at a competing hotel chain had a non-​functional sleep timer on the TV).
The con’s: The WiFi does not require a password, so it is not a secure connection. Beware when surfing. The lamp near the bed does not have a plug, nor was there an easily accessible outlet near the bed if you want to work in bed or keep your phone charging next to you at night. The only phone in the room is on the desk. Convenient for making calls (though almost everyone would use their personal cell not the hotel phone, unless you’re calling within the hotel), but NOT convenient if you have a wake-​up call and are trying to answer the screaming phone while staggering half-​asleep across the room. Also, VERY soft pillows. A pro if you like that sort of thing, but me, I like a firmer pillow. And lastly, there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so taking a hot shower completely fogged up the mirror.
Would I stay again? Maybe. But since I was up here on a client visit, that’s more up to the client.

Pros: The lobby was very pretty and the staff was friendly enough. The room was comfortable and fairly clean. They allow pets, which is always a plus for us.
Cons: The bathroom floors needed a scrub, and the walls needed a once over as well. The hotel ran out of waters, and there were no vending machines easily found. The fire alarm went off at almost 1am. False alarm. The biggest con was that the AC did not work well at night. It was a hot and uncomfortable sleep.

The only reason they get 2 stars is because the room service and food were surprisingly good. Besides this, the hotel service and rooms were pretty terrible. Below are the good and the bad:
Good:
— Good food at room service (I had the Cobb Salad with chicken and, later, a chicken quesadilla).I was truly surprised at how delicious and fresh the food was.
— Fast room service — they were quick to deliver and asked if all was ok. I indicated I had issues with the internet and he mentioned he’ll have their maintenance person check on my internet connection in the room, but I didn’t quite see any difference afterwards.
Bad:
— Horrible internet connection. I was here for work and logged into my VPN network. It kept bumping me off and switching to different wifi connections at the hotel, so I’d have to re log-​in every 15 minutes or so. This took place for a couple of hours! Ug!
— Weird front service staff. They were not so friendly and made me feel like an inconvenience when asking for directions to the gym that was not at the hotel.
— My room was on the second floor, essentially hovering over the next building’s rooftop HVAC units, so I heard a horrible buzz my entire stay.
— The cleaning staff didn’t come to clean my room until 4:30pm after I left for the day at 8am. I was walking back to my room as she was about to clean. They came back at 6pm when I left and basically made the bed.
— Poor location. There is nothing around here within walking distance.
While I never would have stayed if it weren’t for a conference, I’d suggest people find a different hotel, even if there is a conference here! I was pretty disappointed.

Beautiful main entrance, and courteous staff. The great open areas that greet you are contrasted by the low ceiling hallways leading you down a dimly lit tunnel with broken ceiling tile. The room was fine. The breakfast in the restaurant wasn’t special. Overall, It was what I would expect for half the cost.

My Husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times.
This past winter or flight out of Boston were delayed twice due to snow and both times
we headed back to The Colonial even though out airlines offered us a hotel
There is a Young woman at the desk. I believe her name is Elise. Elisa is extremely helpful and always goes out of her way to be accommodating.

Beautiful and convenient hotel. Stones throw from shopping and restaurants. Shout out to Marcos in Engineering for fixing my TV by helping me move rooms to a nicer TV. Trust me, The Bachelor was on and my original room TV did not have ABC programmed in its line up (strange but true in #117) The front desk was so apologetic and gave us free breakfast in the AM for the inconvenience. We will be back!

I was told to lower my expectations for my stay here. Like, way, way down. So I was expecting, like, water-​stained wallpaper, damp carpets and critters. Either my friend is really picky or they’ve remodeled, because it was just fine.
Gorgeous? No. But good-​sized clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet rooms. The staff were very nice and accommodating (we were all kind of trapped – it was during the second of the ongoing blizzards they’re dealing with).
And hey, if you’re trapped, you can put on your sneakers and walk the conference area and second and third floors like Jack Nicholson all work and no play… I did it for like an hour.

A great hotel in North Boston. About a 20 minute drive from all the places you want to be, with a much calmer vibe all the way around. I’m a Gold Member with Starwood, so the perks for me at Sheraton are always great.
The staff is attentive, upbeat, and they all go out of their way to make your stay a good one. Rooms are nice, I’d suggest upgrading to the Suites, they give you so much more walking room. There is NO free breakfast, and I can’t figure out why they won’t come around in this… Come on Starwood!

Hello, anyone out there? We checked in and all was well. Room was okay except for a spider’s nest on the ceiling and one ripped sheet on the bed. We called for room service. A few minutes later, someone arrived with three bottles of water. Huh? We explained that we had a ripped sheet, not a thirst.
Later I went to the bar to get a draft beer. No bartender. huh? Finally, a friendly waitress showed up and poured a beer. Nice.
Next morning I went to the dining room to meet up with about ten friends who were all midway or finished with their breakfast. I was hungry and expected a server to arrive. No such luck. We tried to flag down a waiter nearby and he waved back, said he would be right over… and never returned. I went to a table where the previous guests had left and helped myself to the thermos pitcher of coffee and shared it with my friends who were all grateful.
Occasionally, a server would enter the dining room but none ever came by our table. I decided to take matters into my own hands, got up, grabbed a plate and went through the buffet line of barely warm and dried out offerings. I expected to charge this to my room, but how? No one ever gave me a check and then we realized that the doors to the lobby were now closed and no service personnel were in sight. So we all got up and left.
My guess is that this place is severely understaffed and under-​trained. I felt as if I was in an episode of «Undercover Boss» and not in a good way.

my husband and i stayed at the Sheraton colonial in wakefield and were kind of disappointed with various features. i had tried calling about early check-​in, and the first two times i received impatient responses and then was finally instructed to call at 10:45 am the day of my arrival to find out if we could check in early. i am a platinum starwood member, so would not have expected this to be so difficult. then, when i called that morning, i was on hold for over 10 minutes before hanging up and trying again. i finally secured the early check in for 2 hours earlier than planned.
the room itself was okay, as was the club lounge. normal amenities, but the furniture was set up in a very strange way in the room that made it feel very crowded and hard to walk around it.
we stopped by the bar in the evening, and i asked for a wine list. the bartender gave me an incredulous stare and insisted that surely i could just be more specific about what i wanted and she could tell me what was available. okay… so then i asked what she had and she very rudely demanded that i narrow it down to red or white. then when my husband asked for a beer and two waters, she got all huffy saying that she would pour the first two glasses but normally guests need to serve themselves their own water. as if it were so busy that she couldn’t do it herself, there were literally three other slowly-​drinking patrons in the bar.

The hotel is located very close to a new shopping area where you can find wholefoods, yard house, clothing shops and other various restaurants. It may take about 10 min on foot but I assume most people drive …
Bed was quite comfortable and free computer/​printer available in the lobby.
Front desk staff were friendly and attentive.
Club lounge offers some fruits and breakfast bar and beverages and coffee (with fancy espresso machine that makes cappuccino) all day, in the evening, some snacks (e.g. cheese, fruit, chilli and cold pasta salad) and breakfast (egg dish, cereals and bread) in the morning.
I would stay here next time if I visit this area again.
PS: I haven’t visited the gym but I heard it’s very nice with swimming pool.

You will not believe what we had to contend with here for two nights in August. AT checkout, when I showed the room pictures (see photos attached) to the clerk, she agreed that the place is in need of a rehab. We then moved over to another hotel nearby, and had one of our best stays ever. It was night and day compared – at the same rate.
Let’s get started:
1. We enter the room, and I take off my shoes and walk over to the window and the entire carpet from the bed to the window, wall to wall was soaking wet. The Air Conditioner was draining into the room and soaking the carpet! Had to use flip-​flops to walk around the room to keep feet from getting wet.
2. Go into the bathroom and close the door, and behind the door the paint is sharply peeled away and decaying from end to end. (See Photo of Door).
3. TINY bathrooms: Bathroom had no towel holder (Towels sit on a shelf in the shower), no counter, narrow sink, no space to put anything. We had to put most of our stuff on top of the toilet for the time we were in the bathroom, and move our bags and things back and forth from the bathroom to the bedroom whenever you needed to use the bathroom. Very inconvenient.
4. This one is a head scratcher: The sheets where not large enough to fit the bed! See my photos of how the mattress was fitted. Sheets barely fitting the top of the mattress. How many people must have rubbed up against the exposed side part of the mattress before us? Is this Sanitary?
They certainly don’t care here if they have the AC draining into the room and the bathroom door decaying.
5. This one I could not photograph well but will have to describe: To get to an electrical outlet near the bed, we needed to move the mattress a bit – and it was just disgusting: Many people’s hair, dust… you can imagine. What I saw here, is what I would expect to find at the Econo-​Lodge, not Sheraton.
Front Desk: Sorry, there are no other rooms available right now – sold out.
We just contended with it until we were able to check out, and get to another Hotel nearby in Woburn.
We are still shaking our heads that they can rent a room in this condition. We don’t understand?

Dans un voyage il y a parfois de l’imprévu… comme se retrouver dans un hôtel à proximité de Boston alors que vous devriez être dans un vol Paris — New York…
Une étape forcée dans un grand hôtel, tous frais payés par la compagnie aérienne pour cause de vol annulé (le coca renversé responsable de sièges qui se soulèvent ça vous dit quelque chose …)
Nous avons donc pu profiter d’une chambre pendant quelques heures afin de nous reposer et prendre une bonne douche (bien appréciable après une nuit dans l’aéroport de NYC), ainsi que d’un repas pour le déjeuner
L’hôtel se trouve à 15 miles de l’aéroport de Boston (donc né comptez pas visiter la ville facilement en venant ici), et même le GPS du taxi avait du mal à trouver le chemin c’est vous dire…
Sinon l’hôtel est quand même plutôt classe dan l’ensemble et de nombreux services sont proposés pour vous rendre le séjour agréable (dans le cas d’un séjour donc !)
Il y a du wifi gratuit mais le signal est surtout bon dans le hall d’accueil…
Passons vite à la partie restauration: nous avions des vouchers de 12 $ par personne, il fallait donc bien en profiter !
A la carte les premiers plats dont des burgers et salades sont justement dans les 12 – 13 $ et les desserts dans les 7 – 8 $
Ce sera donc un dernier burger avant l’avion, pas mauvais du tout, pas sec, consistant mais facile à manger, une nette préférence pour le BBQ & Sweet Onions par rapport au Turkey, la salade Caesar avait l’air bonne aussi
Total de 46 $ avec tax & service pour 2 burgers et une salade Caesar, ça reste honnête
MAIS alors par contre un gros coup de gueule contre le mec qui s’amusait à passer l’aspirateur alors que le restaurant était ouvert, pas complet non, loin de là d’ailleurs, mais nous étions bien là dans la salle nous… c’est quoi ce bordel, et il s’est permis d’insister en plus…
