Pizza Amore

Happened upon this place when my daughter and I needed to find a quick lunch in Wake Forest. Was about unsure by the exterior, but pleasantly surprised once inside. Staff was extremely friendly to all the patrons, service was quick, and the food was tasty. It’s a small pizza/​pasta/​subs place, nothing large or fancy, but I’d definitely return and recommend it.

Bravo!!! Excellent NYC style pizza and very nice service. I wish they had places this good with this kind of value in Chapel Hill.

This place is my new favorite. I was able to find Pizza Amore through great reviews and it lived up to the hype. We got the white pizza with spinach, lobster ravioli and pizza fries. The lobster ravioli was incredible. Best lobster ravioli I’ve had in awhile. While sharing it it’s not a huge portion so you’d be better off getting that for your main entrée. The white pizza with spinach was perfect. Not too heavy with amazing ricotta cheese.
And pizza fries, wow. I was thinking the fries would be soggy and not super great by the time we got home. Boy was I mistaken. These were a huge hit. They were incredible. This one you’ll have to try for yourself to understand how delicious they really are. I will be coming back for sure. Great place!

Went tonight for the first time. I have been looking for a good pizza place in North Carolina. This is it! What a great pie!

Excellent NY Style Pizza! Perfect seating accommodations for all types: plenty of seating in shady area, sunny spot or inside with A/​C.
We had the lunch special:
2 slices and 1 drink each. Total bill for two was $ 13.25, Great Price!
My wife had two plain or Cheese Pizza slices and I had one with sliced sausage and one with Pepperoni, sliced Sausage and Cherry Peppers. Everything was so yummy!
Tisha, our waitress, was Fantastic! She was also very accommodating with our service dog :)

The cheese steak pizza was amazing so was the everything meat calzone I would recommend coming back.

For Italian take out this was amazing. We ordered 6 entrees about 20 minutes before they closed. The girl on the phone was very pleasant. We asked for «no garlic-​garlic bread and she immediately said, «no problem» (you might be surprised how often that is a huge problem for Italian restaurants). Every entrée was incredibly good! The bread was perfectly buttered and toasted. We absolutely loved our meals!!! Very reasonable prices too for generous amounts of food. Thrilled to find this place.
So now we have been there 11 times (I’m thinking) including getting a big takeout order last night delivered to the brewery down the street. Still amazing food… But really –They are ALWAYS so nice. I’m amazed at how sweet and friendly they consistently are. How do they do it? And can they teach it to… everyone else???

This has become a favorite spot for our friends and family!!! Food is amazing!!!
Staff is friendly and it’s nice to walk around downtown after.

WE LOVE Pizza Amore. Mike and his staff are always so friendly and go out of their way to make sure we are happy. The pizza takes me back to my NY days, and the salads are delicious. Please visit Pizza Amore next time you are in Wake Forest… especially if you are craving that NY style pizza!!!

I went in on a Saturday night at 8:45 and was told I could not get 2 slices. I know this is not New York City but this is pathetic. The next visit to White Street Brewery I will happily order from the local food truck, not from a place that blows you off on Saturday night…

This pizza is very good. The last time I got a pizza from here, I got the white pizza with spinach. It was soo good! I thought that the spinach came standard on the white pizza. I ordered the white pizza this time, and it didn’t have the spinach. It was pretty good still, but not as good as the first.
Would be nice if they delivered also. They only deliver to White Street Brewing next door.

I got a wrap. It was good. Tasted fresh. It was cold, and I was expecting it to be hot. Nothing great. Maybe 3 out of 5 stars.
But the pizza!!! Is amazing! It all comes down to the crust. I hate crusts in general. I’ll even skip it with 99% of pizzas I eat. But I ate almost all the crust on this pizza!

Most excellent pizza. I am from Philadelphia and have lived in Wake Forest for 11 years. This is my go to pizza place now!

Best pizza in Wake Forest in my opinion. Love this place. I’ve ordered pizzas and wings from here for my PRO guys on several occasions. Both times the food was amazing.

Classic NY style pizza. They obviously use high quality ingredients and it shows! Amazing pizza and some of the friendliest people you’ll meet. I highly recommend!

Pizza Amore is the same as the Cannizario’s Pizzeria that was in Wake Forest. Just like the sign says, new name with the same guys and same pies. We like to order pizza while at White Street Brewing or call in an order and pick it up to go. The space is still the same with indoor and outdoor deck seating. I have only tried the cheese pizza and it is made with thin crust and reminds me of New York style pizza. Definitely check this place out while in Wake Forest or at White Street Brewery.

We really do like the pizza since we first visited the restaurant almost a year ago (with the original name). However the ingredients have gotten skimpier. Unfortunately during my last pick-​up this past Monday I did not open the box before I left. When ground beef is the only meat ordered, and there are maybe 3 little crumbles of meat on each slice, and one slice having none, there’s a problem. The green pepper and onions were also sparse — and I ordered olives, not onions. So, we’ll wait awhile, try again and hopefully have a better experience. We want to love it!

This was our second time here. We really enjoyed it. My wife got the manicotti (pic) and I got a pepperoni, bacon, mushroom, and onion pizza (pic). It was fantastic! In my opinion, the crust really makes the pie. This hand tossed crust was crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. It reminded me of a great loaf of French bread (I’m sure they’d prefer I say Italian, but that’s what came to mind). :) the crust also holds up to the fold test (you know… where you fold your slice and see if the tip droops). It holds up nicely.
Both times we’ve been to Pizza Amore, we started with the fried ravioli. It’s probably frozen, but still tastes pretty good. Great starter for the family. My wife says she’d get that for a meal if it came with more than 6.
If I had to find a criticism, it’d be that there’s no «small» size. Pies come in 14 and 16 inch sizes. WAY too much for an individual. Unfortunately for me, my family doesn’t like my topping choices.

A Taste of Sicily and AND NY/​NJ their website says (you may have to read between the menu lines to get it)! Sicilian in Wake Forest? Sicilian in Downtown Wake Forest at that!
Where Cannizzaro’s Pizzeria used to be and it’s so nice to see all the Good Fellas: De Niro, Pacino, Brando (not so good), Liotta, you know these guys must love Italian Food, Right!
I’m usually not the kind of guy who goes for «slices» though I decided to see what it was like when offered a Sicialan Slice! This was a Lunchtime Deal Slice and though it looked Good it was too toasted (main reason I do not want a slice)! It was also too PLAIN (though it is exaktly how I ordered it Plain! I’ll be back for THE Whole Pie, Sheet or what they call a Square Pizza and I’ll ask how much Garlic could I get on that!
I’m going to bring additional commentary on the Dessert, for now I’ll just say Zeppoli Time would be a GREAT Time to Break Your Diet or Zeppoli
A little disappointed that they chose to drink the Boar’s Head «KoolAid» though will see how creative they can used Boring product to make Sandwiches, I’m always Skeptical when it comes to Meat and Cheese QUALITY!

Ordered a 14″ pepperoni pizza from Cannizzaro’s a week or two ago and it was out of this world good. Even better than I remembered from the last time we had been there. Just the right amount of sauce, oily cheesy goodness, flavorful pepperoni.
Went back last night and the name had changed to Pizza Amore. Was afraid I would never taste that excellent pizza again.
Was relieved when the owner told me she had bought out Cannizzaro’s last September. They just hadn’t changed the name until a few days ago.
Highly, highly recommend Pizza Amore!
