I have always had a great experience at this PDQ location. Their food is always fresh and tasty, the staff is friendly and the location has nice features. I love the hand washing station and Coke freestyle machine. The sauces are wonderful and the grilled chicken is cooked well(not slimy or chewy!). I like the Cali Club Grilled Chicken sandwich. It is pricey, but to me it is worth it.

So I received an email a while back regarding my negative experience and was invited to try pdq again. My experience was far better in that there was no line to complain about and the food was quite good! Still think the prices are high, so it will not be my first choice for that reason. I know the prices are not an option for franchise owners, so I wish them the best of luck and appreciate their desire to create a happy customer experience for me and my family.

I am not impressed. Fries too salty. Only one choice of bread. Not sure if I will return.

My expectations from a fast food joint is fast, decent quality for the price, and good service. This place had all of that plus more. I got a tour of the kitchen and was surprised that everything that they make is prepared there(not frozen like other places) and they also try to use local produce. Their food is excellent and this is guaranteed from their quality procedures that are in place. For example everything in the fridge had labels on it with dates and codes and I was thinking geez I wished I had that in my fridge. As other reviewers have indicated there is transparency, you never know what happens in the backroom but this place is proud to show this to their customers. There main product is chicken based and there are lots of variation. I am definitely coming back again.

PDQ is a fast food restaurant that doesn’t have a microwave or freezer. Just let that sink in. A lot of restaurants say everything is fresh, but PDQ is the real deal. The kitchen is wide open to the dining room and super clean. There are no secrets here. There are even windows– which face the drive up queue, in the prep area. Total transparency. And the drive up, you don’t order from a speaker box, you are actually are face-to-face with someone. Every order is cooked to order and in a reasonable amount of time. The sauces are all made in house without preservatives and they are ridiculously delicious. Even the fries are treated differently than other restaurants. They are rinsed several times to remove as much starch and sugar as possible, than partially baked before a quick fry. There’s so much thought that goes into everything PDQ does. The space is modern, comfortable and really clean. There’s a hand washing station at kid level– in the dining room — genius. Even the way your order– the menu is in front of you, not up at the ceiling, so you and the cashier stay in eye contact. The biggest positive for me is that there are no microwaves and freezers and you can really taste the difference in the food.

Thanks to all my fellow Unilocal friends I was craving for PDQ today for lunch! I’ve been to this location several times, as it’s not far from my job and each time I really enjoyed the food and experience. Now today was a little different, which is why I only gave it 4 stars. I understand all their food is made fresh, so a little wait is too be expected. When I arrived the drive-thru line was literally wrapped around the building, so I figured I would go inside, because I only saw 2 people in line. Well 15 minutes or so I am finally walking out with my food, and zero cars in the drive-thru. Had I known that I would have stayed with the drive-thru, but I have also worked fast food in my teenage years and also know that you try to get your drive-thru orders out a little bit faster. The 4 star rating wasn’t so much geared towards the wait, it was given because the fries were cooked entirely too hard for my liking. Normally the fries are crispy on the inside but soft inside. Well these fries were cooked too crispy, it was like eating Potato Sticks. I still enjoyed the remainder of my food, I just gave my fries to someone else. Overall, still a favorite of mine!

Great restaurant! Got a tour of their kitchen, everything is prepared fresh every day! The only thing in their freezers is their ice cream! Delicious food, clean restaurant, friendly staff, and I always see them out in the community helping!!!

This is the 2nd time I have been at this place where the employees seem more interested in conversations with other staff or doing other things rather than checking on customers. This time, the manager/supervisor(?) had his back to customers waiting for food for no less than 3 mins. There were other employees doing things and looked like they were being trained(cashier, pouring condiments, etc), but no one seemed to care about customers waiting for food for a few minutes. I just don’t get. I can go across the street to the other chilcken place and no one is left standing waiting for even 30 seconds at the counter without someone checking on or helping a customer. The food quality was fine on this visit, I guess just frustrating watching a grown man have a «enjoyable» conversation with his grill staff only to turn and not even apologize for having a customer wait.

I am such a fan of this location that I have reviewed them on facebook too! I think Moe seems super nice! He always goes out of his way to talk to me if he notices us in there. It really appears that he runs a tight ship. You can see into their dry storage areas if you pay attention and they are not only tidy but perfect! Every little can is placed lined up with the others like a retail store with all labels facing out! If he goes to that extreme in cleanliness then I can’t imagine what they get knocked off for from the health dept. the staff here is amazing! They go above and beyond! One night one of the team members brought my kids a t-shirt! My son has begged to go there everyday since and he loves that shirt. Some times it is just the little things that are impressive!

MINDBLOWN! I was already a huge PDQ fan, but this time I chose to get Sweet Heat BBQ sauce with my grilled tenders. My flavor experience intensified greatly! On top of the to die for food, the restaurant is clean as a whistle and the food is ready ridiculously quick. I love the exposed kitchen and the white chef style uniforms are very classy. It’s like fast food, but not at all. I’ve reviewed the Falls of Neuse location, but that was before my experience with the delectable sweet heat sauce. If you eat at zaxbys, chickfila, or bonangles instead of PDQ you are a crazy! In wake forest all of these restaurants are packed together within a quarter mile of each other, and like I said you have to be insane to choose any of the others over PDQ.

I so wanted to rate PDQ a 5 as when they are on their game this place is fantastic. It has the best chicken and turkey around. But the inconsistency is really disappointing with getting the orders wrong to forgetting part of the order. I will say that most of the problems occur with the weekend and night staff. During the weekday things are normally fine. Ordering is at the window where you actually speak to someone and not at the intercom. Your name is also taken. So I am still confused how a grilled chicken sandwich gets put into the computer as a crispy chicken sandwich as they sound nothing alike. Then there was the time I ordered without pickles and the only thing on it was pickles, no lettuce, tomato, or honey mustard sauce. When ordering multiple items, make sure everything was included as they have left out the sides before. I use to eat here several times a week but now I usually go elsewhere so that I can get an accurate order. I do love that grilled chicken sandwich though but it isn’t worth risking ending up with something completely different. PDQ, please let me know when there is consistency and orders will be accurate so that I can order a grilled chicken sandwich there again. I really miss them.

Update is still 5 stars. I just had to note the superb customer service this place offers. The head chef comes out even in the drive-thru when there’s the slightest hint of a mix-up. Not only is the chicken delicious, but it doesn’t sit heavily in your stomach like many other fried/fast food restaurants. In addition, their salads are filling and actually pop with bright colors of fresh produce instead of white lettuce butt squares. I don’t write reviews on chain restaurants, especially fast food, but I can’t say enough good things about PDQ, and this location in particular.

Great family experience! We love going here. The chicken is very fresh which you really can taste. I love the had washing station ;located outside of the restrooms, the fact that there are 2 women’s rooms(I mean come on that’s just cool– we all know there’s usually a need for more women’s restrooms anyway) and, if I am not having a shake, there is the soda machine with the like the 1000 variations you can pick so I always get exactly what I want to drink. The blueberry coleslaw is great. I really like the apples in pineapple juice with toffee dip. May sound weird, but worth trying. The fries are really good as well. Very clean. I would never go back to a Zaxby’s. Now if all that wasn’t enough, the staff is great. The chefs/mangers have a fun attitude and the food comes out fast, even when it’s busy. One particular manager Ian, has been exceptionally kind to our 5 year old, making the experience really fun for her in addition to the food. Would and do highly recommend.

PDQ is a nice place to go when you don’t want to spend a ton of money and you still want your family to have a good time and an enjoyable meal. It’s not great, but it’s certainly better than Chick-Fil-A. So, if you like Chick-Fil-A, you’ll probably like PDQ even more. PDQ specializes in chicken entrees. Chicken fingers, chicken wraps, chicken sandwiches, chicken salads — you get the idea. The chicken is tasty in whatever form you choose and amazingly, it’s not greasy at all. I’m not sure how they pull this off, but it’s a fact. I’ve eaten here numerous times and not once have I ever had a piece of greasy chicken. To me, that’s a feat in itself. You can get sides to go with your chicken including french fries, blueberry cole slaw and sliced apples and they all match the quality of the chicken. They also offer fresh-squeezed lemonade, hand spun shakes and a plethora of soft drinks served up in 3 fancy high tech soft drink dispensers. PDQ stands for«People Dedicated to Quality» and from what I can tell based on their food, service and the cleanliness of the restaurant, this location certainly lives up to its name.
