Acapulco is the kind of Mexican place you go to eat because it’s the most convenient and you’re too lazy to drive an extra 10 minutes to an actual decent Mexican place. I sat outside with two other peeps while we enjoyed the complementary chips and salsa. Service was excellent and they made sure we had chips and drinks always full! I ended up ordering a fish burrito. What I actually got was a tortilla doused in bean gravy and stuffed with beans. It was less than mediocre, at best. I was hoping that the burrito was going to be filled with fish, beans, maybe like some lettuce or cabbage and some guac and sour cream… nope. Literally my whole plate was covered in bean gravy. Idk. It didn’t have the fresh crisp taste that I was expecting and probably won’t be going back.

Very overpriced for what it was. Food was ok. Quesadilla was kinda soggy. Chicken soft tacos were OK but for $ 5 a piece they better be euphoric.

Delicious and HUGE Nachos! Service was quick and friendly! Taco combination was yummy! Quesadilla with shredded beef combination plate was tasty. We were in the mood for Mexican food and Acapulco was the place to come on the island of Oahu!

Lots of free parking and food is pretty decent. Love the horchata, but don’t waste your money on the fried ice cream

By far the best I’ve had. This is my go to. The food is always good and full of flavor. The service is always good, even when they are super busy(it’s a small joint so it doesn’t take much to get busy). It’s B.Y.O.B. I always get 2 enchiladas, one shredded chicken and one shredded beef, all rice, no beans.

Can we get a negative star? If the 14 year old looking kid didn’t work there then maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad. The attitude from this kid completely amazed me. If it weren’t for not eating all day and being stuck in traffic around the whole island we would have gotten up and walked out. They tried to sneak charge us and couldn’t even give sour cream instead of their pico. No wonder why no one ever says to go here cause it sucked!!!

This time tried the fajita burrito, loved it. It’s served with rice and beans on the side. Portion is huge, ate half and felt overly stuffed! Good enough portion to split with someone. Happy camper after I left!

Me and my family were craving Mexican food after church. Came around 12:15 and got seated right away. We ordered the nachos and the 3 combination plate with Chile Reano w/ground beef, chicken enchilada w/red sauce on the side, and chicken tostada. We were served complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was yummy but the chips didn’t seem too fresh. The food came exceptionally fast. The nachos were really good. Sometimes when I get nachos there’s only enough toppings for the first layer of chips, but these nachos covered each chip perfectly. The combo plate was pretty big, me and my sister shared it. The chili Reano and the tostada were a hit. Extremely yummy. However I was disappointed at the chicken enchilada. It was just soggy. wet, and really salty. We ended things with their fried ice cream, which I absolutely love and recommend — the main reason I gave this restaurant a fourth star. Overall, Acapulco is a decent Mexican restaurant. Granted, I am used to eating at Mexican restaurants on the mainland, but this is comparable since it’s relatively close to home and has decent Mexican food that’s not too expensive and amazing fried ice cream.

My husband and I went to Acalpulco for dinner tonight and the food quality has really gone down. He got his usual carnitas and I got the chicken enchiladas. His carnitas were so oily that when he picked it up the oil was dripping out from it. My enchiladas didn’t really have any flavor to it. It needed some spice or something on it. And normally I love the rice here, but today it just seemed dry and not flavorful. Not sure if there’s a new cook or what but the food just tastes different now.

Yay for large quantities of Mexican food. This place is very unassuming, but after visiting a few times now, I have solidified my standard order. To make sure I make the most of each trip, I usually order the Combo Plate. Choices include: burritos, enchiladas, chile relleno, tacos or quesadillas. Each one can be made with your choice of meat — beef, ground beef, chicken, asada or carnitas. I’ve tried all kinds of combinations and really enjoy the CARNITASENCHILADAS. Added bonus — the HORCHATA. Served in a mug for sipping down all that spicy goodness.

My s/o and I have probably been here about 3 times now. I think we’ve been coming back because we really want to like this place but it just isn’t authentic mexican food. The restaurant is nice and clean(clearly decorated with whatever the found in the home décor section of ross) they could use a theme or tone it down. The servers are always the same 2 teens, the girl looks like she can’t wait to get out of there and the guy is usually really friendly. What prompted me to finally review them was the shredded beef taco that was oddly sweet and rather bland… and the $$ 4.50TINY side of guacamole. The food is ok, I’d rather go to Just Tacos or that new taquieria in Wahiawa.

Came for lunch! Thursday, July 16th. We all know it’s been hot like Hades. Well, it was no different in the restaurant! Unreal, that as the owners of as an establishment with fryers going & a grill, they would have NO A/C! My poor Granddaughter & Hubby were dripping with swet & persperation, NASTYHOT! Taco salad I had was filled with iceberg lettuce & I dare not eat the shell like u would @ Taco Bell. This saturated greasy shell, looked like a refry gone ALLWRONG! MY Hubby said NOBUEÑO! So WEDEFINATELY aren’t coming back. 2yr old Granddaughter wasn’t offered a booster seat, so family oriented business, thumbs down. Please O’ahu needs a Great Mexican food place… this ain’t it!

I have been searching for good Mexican food… And I think I found it at Acapulco! I had the enchilada and fried shrimp tacos. It was amazing! Their Mexican rice was fluffy but not mushy. There salsa was so good I felt like just drinking it… LOL! When I usually go to a Mexican restaurant I like one or two things and the rest is just ok. At Acapulco EVERYTHING was good. I am going back soon!

A very pleasant restuarant, small but comfortable. Food is delicious and the server is great. I recommend trying Alcopoco out. Bring the family and enjoy.

First off, I really really wanted to like this place because I see that it has so much potential. I heard about it from my cousin who was visiting from the big island, she said she came to this restaurant was the best Mexican food she’s tasted in a while and the prices weren’t too bad. FOOD: We both got chimichangas both shredded beef. It was a big plate and the chimichanga was very decent sized. I’ve honestly had better though. The chips in the beginning they hardly filled the basket. The salsa was not mild at all, so people like me who are sensitive to spicy would probably have a hard time eating it lol. I don’t mind it though. My only regrets is not getting dessert & I really wanted to try the horchata. Service: We got there and it was just two of us, they quickly seated us at a corner table which had three chairs, then another waitress comes out and tells us to move because there was a bigger party who was waiting for out table. We looked at each other like huh, because they sat us on a table with 4 chairs. We kinda didn’t understand but it was whatever. Anyway after a few min of just staring at each other the waitress brings our menus. We both decide quickly, and then wait AGAIN for another few min(which seemed to take forever) she took our orders and the food did come in fast so I can’t complain about that. Once we were done we tried to flag a waitress down for a box to take my food home. They just kept walking past us and that really irritated me. Finally someone acknowledged us, she handed us the check and the box, we was out of there! I think maybe I would come back, maybe on a less busier day.

Had dinner here with friends. It’s a small restaurant, but the staff is friendly and helpful. The menu is rather limited, but my pork chili verde was tasty and HOT from the kitchen. It came with refried beans, rice and chopped lettuce and a dollop of sour cream. We also tried the fried banana split with vanilla ice cream. It was large and refreshingly cold. All in all, good fare for a good price!

Acapulco was decent. I ordered take out, my family ate there last night. They had ordered me a mild enchilada in red sauce that came with rice, beans and lettuce. It was okay, not the best flavorful authentic Mexican flavor I’m used to. It was bland and not rich. Will I ever try their food again? Probably not. I’m always on the hunt for top Mexican restaurants on Oahu.

Overall I would say this place is pretty okay. I do have some complaints about certain things, but I did enjoy the food. I ordered the beef chimichanga. I am not a huge guacamole fan, so I requested to replace it with more sour cream. I thought this wouldn’t be a problem because sour cream tends to be cheaper… but the waitress told me they don’t do any substitutions. How upsetting. But at least it was pretty good food. I came here two times so far. The first time I went, we had to sit outside on the patio. It was messy and cold. Plus the waitress wasn’t very attentive. I got my water refilled only once. The second time we sat inside, and it was still cold! Why?! One good thing is that this place has the ABSOLUTEBEST fried ice cream! I love the fact that it has a crispy yet thick crust. It’s filled with cinnamon and chocolate. I think the only reason why I come back is for that ice cream.
