808 Details Mobile Auto Detailing

It was a Sunday morning when I found 808 Details ad on Craigslist. I called in the afternoon, not expecting an answer so I left a message. Dave the owner and operater call me the next day. I explained what I was looking for. Possible exterior and interior detail but definetly needed more attention to the exterior paint. Years of neglect to my white toyota tundra left the paint full of water spots with pretty much no gloss. Unfortunately Dave said he was book about 2 weeks out but couldn’t schedule anything until later in the day because he was away from his scheduling calendar. I called him back later in the day and was able to get in on a cancelation the next day. Since I didn’t have a garage or shaded area for him to work out of as he mostly does mobile jobs. He offered for me to bring my truck to his shop. So I arrive around 8am. Dave greeted me and proceed to asses the damage. After a quick explanation of what he planned to do. I felt confident that I was going to go with Dave for my restoration. I got my quote and wasn’t surprised about anything. He was upfront with everything. Throught the day he kept me up to date with what was going on. After 12 hours my truck was ready for pick up. Everything exceeded my expectations. Definitely go with Dave if you want extra attention to detail as I will not hesitate to go back. He even offered to pick me up from my house when he remembered we had a baby and he even left me with some product so I could give some attention to my interior since he and his brother spent so much time on the paint restoration. 808 Details is definitely above the rest!

They did an excellent job detailing my car. I had heavy stains to the seats and carpets and they did an excellent job. The car smells brand new now. Service was very friendly and courteous. They take pride in their work and do a superior job so please be patient. I will definitely use them again for my other vehicles.

Dave did a great job with my BMW convertible and my Honda Odyssey! As an active duty military member living on base, I appreciated his ability to get to my house without difficulty and without my assistance. (Dave is retired US Navy) He’s upfront with charges and his labor time; expect one day per vehicle. Go with Dave and 808 Details … you won’t regret it.

DAVE KNOX and his brother RICH are the absolute BEST in the business! Without a doubt. I did my research online & am beyond happy to have found them. There were other places that could’ve done it that day, but I knew he was the one. I called on a Saturday – he was extremely nice & knowledgeable from the start. He informed me about what he does and the pricing. Set me an appointment first thing Monday (today). He made it very clear that even if I thought the job looked good, if it wasn’t PERFECT to his standards he wouldn’t give me the car in that condition. I myself am a perfectionist & can appreciate that. Long story short, my car was in my ex’s possession for over 2 years and was in awful condition. There were ants and roaches crawling all over, excessive stains especially in the backseats, gum stuck in multiple places, etc. Horrible is putting it lightly. I have 2 little ones and by all means did not want them in that car. He assured me it would also be completely disinfected for them. I bought them brand new carseats & was AMAZED when I came to see my car. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. They even washed it for me! Still in shock. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Dave & Rich! AMAZING work Dave! I called last minute and thankfully there was a cancellation so he was able to get me in that day! Dave was able to work with my time constraints and still provide superb work! My car was a total beach car, I had half of North Shore in it! He did a great job with the interior and even gave me the option to replace my old worn out mats with new rubber ones! The exterior looks fantastic! My car is about 10 years old and has taken my abuse and neglect, but he still made it shine like new! If I was staying on island longer he would be my go to guy to get my car taken care of! Thank you Dave for all your help!

Dave did an amazing job detailing my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He is very friendly and addressed all my concerns. He made my jeep look brand new again.

Wife and I recently purchased a pristine 2013 Kia Sorrento. Less than couple of weeks later, it was side swiped at Ward theater in the packed sardine-​can style parking lot. My wife and I were crushed. It wasn’t too badly dented but seeing the paint from the other car was just infuriating. We needed to take care of that eye sore and looked up detailing companies in the area.
I read the reviews and after calling Dave, I was convinced he was the man. He gave answers honestly and I didn’t feel bs’d. Kudos to Dave for giving it straight and to the point. We were lucky we got booked two days after we called because he’s typically booked two weeks out and someone had cancelled.
My wife and I are very happy with Dave and Rich’s work. The eye-​sore was gone and the car’s exterior looked brand new again. The car sparkled so much that it literally caught my eye in the rear view mirror as my wife drove it behind me.
Before we left, Dave took the time to give us pointers on maintaining the car in and out. Couldn’t be happier with our choice to go with these guys.

I requested for a headlight restoration for my 2010 Acura MDX. My headlights had some pretty bad UV damage and I thought I had to buy new headlights. I looked on Unilocal and found these awesome reviews for 808 detailing. The Unilocal reviews don’t lie! He made my heads look brand new! I was completely amazed and impressed with how great the result was. Just look at the before and after photos for yourself!

Amazing. That’s all a customer really needs to know about the work done by Dave at 808. I started off looking all around for a good detail shop for both my car and truck. Looking at ratings, prices, location and what not, I found a place for my car and was able to get it cleaned up right before my 2^nd son was born. Unfortunately, I was utterly disappointed (remember, not at the 808 Detail yet) at the cost for a subpar job. Still paid the price:/ Later, after my sons birth was my appointment with 808 for the truck. With the new boy came a little more financial restrictions. Once I got to Dave I told him my situation and let him know the small fixes I wanted done. He had no problem with me telling him I wanted less work done. His reply,“I do what the customers want.” So, he estimated a much lower cost for what I wanted done, and got to work. Less than an hour later he was finito’!!! As soon as I viewed the results I was amazed. Well worth every second. Even if it wasn’t that many seconds. Not only did he meet my desires for my truck but he even dropped the price further. Completely fair. Completely worth it. Glad I scheduled it when I did!!! If you’re looking around. This is the business to contact. Want a lot? Pay a lot. Want a little (but still huge, like what I wanted)? Pay a little. Best on the Island.

Here’s my review of 808 Details Mobile Auto Detailing:
I personally feel like Dave, the owner of 808 Details Mobile Auto Detailing, is an exceptional person. Not only is he the owner of the business, but he (along with his brother) performs the work. You know that when you are scheduling an appointment, or are simply inquiring about his services, the customer service is beyond that of any other automotive detailer you will go to. Why?
I inquired about his services a couple weeks ago. The day following my initial inquiry I was invited to go to his shop, which he has in his garage, so that he can perform a visual assessment. My car (2015 Toyota Corolla) was recently repaired after a hit and run incident and I had my rear bumper, driver’s side rear door, and my driver’s side rear quarter panel replaced, in addition to having my driver’s side door repaired due to minor damages as a result. I normally detail my own vehicle, but I was afraid to touch my vehicle because I might damage the new paint. So I wanted the car cared for and brought back to it’s original «clean» condition. So, after making the assessment, Dave made recommendations and explained why he made them. I had questions, and he answered them thoughtfully and with rationale. In fact, he educated so much that before I even made the appointment to have the detailing performed, I felt confident that I would be able to the work myself. But, I wanted to see the work done, first. So I went with his recommendations and had the entire exterior, including the door jambs, moon roof area and trunk jambs, the door and side moldings, the plastic vinyl under the windshield wipers in addition to water spot removal on the wheels and the front grill (which Dave said were attributed to water sprinklers… so beware of the water sprinklers!). Dave went the extra mile here and added a free detailing of the engine bay area, including the bottom of the hood, and also did some minor water spot removal from the paint, for free! Also, the exterior service I received also included vacuuming of the interior. When I came to pick up my car, I saw Dave’s brother performing a quick wipe down of the interior… awesome! The service was exceptional!
Here’s also where I felt like the service was exceptional: Dave told me that he’ll help me save a few bucks by giving me a bottle of meguiar’s interior detail spray and a few clean microfiber cloths to do some DIY work. We talked a lot before I left. I had no doubt that his work will outperform just about any other professional detailer here on the island. It’s all in the details!
I would definitely recommend 808 Details Mobile Auto Detailing to my family, friends and any one who asks me where they should take their car for a legitimate car spa-​like treatment.

I recently had Dave at 808 Details come to my place and detail my 9 year old Mazda. I was the original owner of my car and just needed an in-​depth cleaning from the years of neglect. I’m not selling it, I just want it to last another ten years without the paint peeling and flaking.
I also wanted to hire someone who could come to my place. I have a busy lifestyle and need to make the most of my time off. Having a detailer come to my house and work on my car while I was getting things done made my day.
When Dave finished, my car looked fabulous. It looks as good as the day I bought it. It took him six and a half hours to finish it. He takes his time and does it right. He has great attention to detail. The garage I had him do it in was not lit very well. Dave was not very happy about that, yet he still made the best of it and pulled out some flashlights to do the job. As soon as I saw what he was doing I totally understood while he was unhappy about the garage, and yet he made the most of it. That made me appreciate him even more.
It has been a month since I had the detail done on my car, and yet I still walk out to it and smile. It looks reborn. And for that, I thank you Dave.

Dave was the only detailer/​company to call me back right away and was very honest and up front about his services and prices. If you’re ready to pay a certain price point and expect only the best, he’s it!

I wish I could show pictures of before and after. I have a 9 year old white truck that looked almost yellow with wonderful splashes of grey — with a beautiful faded to grey plastic molding and covering to the bed.
I went to Dave, he was fantastic, straight forward on what he intended to do to my truck, the desired results and expectations. I couldn’t be happier with the service provided and plan on recommending him to anyone I know.
My truck looks new again. So new that when I was pulling into the gate to a military base I got an offer to buy it from the gate guard! This was testament enough to the job that was done.

Wow, what a challenge! But I’m going to have to pass as I am a professional Detailer and not a «car wash boy/​company» offering Groupon’s and gimmicks to bring in customers. I do however offer repair work for those who have really nice vehicles and take them to a Groupon Detailer that has now put your pride and joy in the hands of an 18−−22 year old working for this Groupon Detailing Company. Another option for ya is to purchase a «full Detail gift certificate» from me at $ 360 and I will gladly write on it «Groupon» and you can then walk away with your vehicle looking close to new and without any damage done to it. Sorry for the long wait, if you do make it through this note combined with my reviews, you will understand why I’m so booked up, why I’m an A+ BBB member and why I have NEVER received anything other than 5 stars on Unilocal and Yahoo reviews.
*We professionally detail only one (1) Vehicle/​Boat/​Bike/​Aircraft per day, the ONLY professional detailer here on Oahu that has taken this approach and stood with it successfully for 23 years now.
*Professional Detailing takes time. Either the exterior or interior will take a minimum or 3 hours and a full detail (both) a minimum of 6 hours. if you’re promised it done in less time/​man-​hours, you are coming up short of professional work or they are cutting corners somewhere. I don’t cut corners or do «Express Detailing». Remember you can just call me if easier or return email will work as well.
Bottom line for price= TIME, it doesn’t matter if it’s a car, boat, motorcycle or aircraft, it matters what condition it’s in and the amount of TIME I need to put into it to accomplish what you would like to have done.
I am not doing «pick up drop off» for the next couple months, only mobile… or you can bring it to me in Waipahu and pick up when finished. I require shade please! A garage or carport with plenty of room to work around the car. I will wash the vehicle outside and then will ned to bring it into a shaded area for detailing. Working on hot paint, plastics, glass etc. is just bad all around for most of my procedures. Furthermore, I reserve my sunburns for Kiteboarding on the weekends.

* Want a better price? You will absolutely find cheaper prices out there for quick «express hour plus detailing» with cheap products that have very little to NO protection. This kind of service is what most folks can do themselves at home on a weekend. We /​I call this kind of service «Express Detailing» in which Detail companies will complete 4 to 8 (or more) cars a day and by no means would I consider this Professional Detailing. It will most likely be provided by employees with very little training and age from 16 to 22 years old that some of the Detailing shops will send out to you.
*MANY OF YOU WILL WANT MY WORK/​SERVICE BUT NOT MY $-PRICE, and that’s OK! We all want «DuPont work/​service for K-​Mart price», its human nature but it’s not reality. Reality is «You get what you pay for». I work very hard, professional detailing is a very physical job and you are not just paying for my physical detailing procedures/​service, you are paying for my KNOWLEDGE, SKILL and the best professional detailing products our industry has to offer to protect and bring your car to the potential of looking the best it can short of repainting and reupholstering it. Furthermore and most important, doing all this without damaging your vehicle/​bike/​aircraft/​boat. In turn, I charge accordingly for the 3 to 10+ hours of what I’m worth.
*Honestly, I don’t understand «express detailing!»
But then again I’m 20 years Military (retired) and have had this logic instilled in me that «half ass» doesn’t work in what we do! Especially when your carrying a weapon and accountable for the safety of others. Sorry for rambling, just the way I see things.
FYI, this is the SHORT version as I had to cut out stuff from his email to make this fit in the review. He then sends me a msg to apologize about his rambling. Needless to say, I didn’t respond. Honestly, he could’ve just said «sorry, we don’t price match. My price list is.» and I would’ve been fine. Customer service needs a lot of attention!!!

Dave was able to fit me in that same week. He came to our home in Ewa to detail my Prius for shipping. He gave me a quote right over the phone which was different from some of the other places I called who said they could only give me a quote after seeing the vehicle. Dave’s prices were very reasonable and he was very professional as he explained the whole process. You can tell he really takes the job seriously and he’s not gonna put his name on anything that isn’t awesome. He told me my car would take around 4 hours and he spent even longer on it. Needless to say it looked amazing! He even buffed out scratches in the paint I thought were permanent. I would definitely recommend 808 details!
