The Co-op has local produce, art, and crafts. I come here once per week and check out what they have. I usually leave with a bag full of goodies for under $ 20. The prices are good, and you are supporting local farmers! Everything about this place feels good. They recently started a grab and go section. I got some Kalu/mac nut hummus that is divine. I also tried a ginger/olena coconut milk soup, and loved it. Dog friendly!

WMC was started to market local farmers and artists. They guarantee sustainable growing techniques and truly local art. Go to for fresh, local Kale, tomatoes, and tropical fruit. Stop next door at Ai Love Nalo vegan restaurant and you get two great experiences right next to each other.

My go to place for kale, sweet sweet cherry tomatoes, and papaya. I always pick up some new veggie I’ve never tried before too! Guaranteed local(unlike the waimanalo farmer’s market unfortunately), Loving the lemonade stand that Waimanalo Country Farms has setup outside too, what a great addition!!! My toddler kids love going, they have little baskets there for the kids to help carry stuff in. And the folks that work there are always so sweet to them, I don’t have to worry about them as I pick out what I need! And there’s often a local farmer or artist coming by to drop off stuff which is just great to see! It’s a great experience all the way around!

The Waimanalo Market Co-op just keeps getting better and better. Open Thurs through Sunday from 9 – 6, you can find it between MacDonald’s and Sweet Home Waimanalo on Kalanianaole hwy. They have lots of great local fruits and veggies. It can be quite random what is available any particular day but there are always interesting things to buy. I recently purchased yellow dragon fruit(so ono!) They usually have a lot of the basics, bananas, lettuce tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. They also have locally produced arts and crafts, which will make great gifts. Sometimes they have poi or kalo chunks or kulolo for sale.(after the poi-mobile has been there — see picture) A fun place to shop which supports your local farmers and artisans.

Easy to find at the old Mel’s Market, this friendly community-driven market offers local goods and produce. You will be greeted by passionate co-op members who emphasize the importance of supporting LOCALLYOWNED businesses. I think it’s a great thing to sometimes change it up from the norm of shopping at supermarkets. This accessible initiative provides a great way for people within the town to stop and EXPLORE. Inside is a large room of what is now an aged, gutted out Mel’s Market. Everything is organized like a SWAP-MEET or GARAGESALE; various items are bunched throughout the room: plants to your right: arts and crafts to your left and produce on tables in the center of the room. I suggest taking the time to look at everything because there can always be new things every time you visit. My last visit I saw star fruits so I bought one with loose change from my pocket. It was delicious and I remember reminiscing on how I used to eat star fruits as a kid. I felt like I was never pressured to buy anything, the workers valued having people know this place exists! + Enthusiastic workers have you feeling welcomed + Great stop for unlike anywhere else local gifts — Parking is limited in front(there are lots of street parking across the McDonalds next door) — Not the ideal place for finding produce on your shopping list So the next time you are cruising through Waimanalo, stop by for a few minutes and see if there’s anything inside that interests you!
