Excellent food at a reasonable price. Stop in as you’re driving by. Generous portions. Ice cream scoops are enormous. The food is yummy. Bit of a dive but well worth stopping. We ate here three times on our 2 week stay in Oahu.

This is a local experience, rough around the edges but worth the the time. A lot of food for not that much. If you are not too adventurous try the spam breakfast down the road at McDonald’s.

Consistency is not a strength here. After watching a young girl order a shave ice at the second window, I got out of line at the first window to do the same. I stood there for a while before I was told I would need to order at the first window, now at the end of a good sized line. After getting my ice, I noticed it was half the size of the guy in front of me. If not for being on the main road, I don’t think they’d have much business. Ice wasn’t bad, but how do you mess up ice?

I’ve walked by this place at least 10 times to go to a Mexican restaurant next door. This place looks like and is a hole in the wall. I’m glad I stopped in this time. I had the mixed plate with Kalua Pig, Mahi Mahi and BBQ chicken. It was very good and a huge portion. I will come back to this gem.

WORSTPLATELUNCHOFTHEISLAND, HANDSEFFINGDOWN!!! Had the Combination Plate with Teri Beef, Kalua Pork, and Mochiko Chicken. Ate literally three small bites and threw the rest out, that’s how bad it was. AND I was starving too. Teri Beef was thick and chewy, the sauce was just meh, the Kalua Pork tasted like rotten death, and the Mochiko Chicken was crispy chicken jerky. STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACEATALLCOSTS!
