Business Owner

Graduated in 1984 from Kauai High School. Married and raised 5 wonderful children whom 3 of 5 have children themselves. Being a grandmother is a great gift! Started my first business at the age of 20. Became a home owner at 21. Now the proud owner of Moped City Maui, Hostel City Maui, Moped City Maui Bed & Wheels, Hostel 1325 and South Maui Motors.

I went to Moped City when the horn went out on my scooter. Another place started their quote at $ 135 per hour labor plus parts. I needed to pass safety and knew it couldn’t be that hard to fix. Their mechanic wasn’t in that day but the owner told me to pull in the shop and we’ll see what we can do. The two of us then proceeded to take the scooter apart! We got to the horn and she tested to see if it was indeed the horn by attaching a new one and it worked confirming the horn was bad. While I was there i decided to put on the new turn signal I had with me. I then passed my safety inspection with flying colors.
The Mother/​Daughter team at Moped City made me feel welcome and like family. After all of their assistance and their time, I wasn’t charged for labor at all since I did the work with them. It saved me well over $ 300! Moped City is now my go to place when it comes to fixing my scooter. No nonsense problem solving at its best!

Been back TWICE now and loved every minute at the hostel and loved the mopeds! Great prices, Great wheels! :) Headed back in the fall and cannot wait! Excellent people :) Owners meet with the people who stay at the hostel AND who rent the mopeds! Excellent communication, all around wonderful :)

Saw their ad in Hawaiian Airlines magazine awhile back. Thought the bf and I would give them a try when vacationing. Good deal and good way to cruise around Maui especially if you are on a budget. Definitely will recommend to friends.

Best $ 25 I have ever spent in Hawaii. 25 bucks to rent a scooter for 4 hours? Friendly helpful staff. We took scooters along the northwest shore/​drive, amazing views, the only way to go. So much fun. Great price. We’ll be back! Mahalo!
