History
Established in 2003.
Maui owned and operated, owner Steve Blinder began servicing customers in the steam cleaning business over 10 years ago. When the need for specialized cleaning and restoration services became clear, he founded Maui Fire & Flood.
Today, his business is a fully-branded member of Disaster Kleenup International, North America’s Largest Restoration Contracting Organization providing 24-hour emergency response services to Maui, Moloka’i and Lanai. Maui Fire & Flood DKI’s 7,500 sq. ft. warehouse is located centrally in Waikapu to allow quick access to most residential areas of the Valley Isle. The facililty boasts of a contents processing center, cabinet shop, administrative offices and secure storage facility for contents while clients are under restoration. Anthony N.
Manager
Anthony Nelson, Operations Manager since 2009. Relocating to run Maui Fire & Flood DKI’s base of operaitons, he brings with him almost a dozen years experience in the Disaster Restoration Industry. Originally from Michigan, he has mitigated some high-profile biocontaminants cases, including several University outbreaks of the dreaded MRSA bacteria.
Among his many IICRC Board certifications include: Applied Microbial Remediation Technician, Water Restoration Technician, Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician, health and Safety Technician, and Applied Structural Drying.
Anthony is active in the Hawaiian canoe paddling community, is an avid brewmeister, and lives with his beloved terrier mix, «Lilo» and his wife of many years who is a photographer and teaches school in on Maui.
