Camp Maui-X

My boyfriend and I rented from Camp Maui X for our first trip to Hawaii over Thanksgiving 2015 — it was an absolutely awesome way to experience the island. Sean was super helpful and professional and the gear was very cool — we got lots of compliments on the rooftop tent and solar powered lamps. Enthusiastically recommend this to people looking for more of an adventure than the boring resorts!

My wife and I had a blast with Sean’s F-​150. If you enjoy car camping and are looking beyond the resorts for an adventure, Camp Maui X is a perfect option. The CVT (tent) rigged to the truck was easy to pitch. The truck/​SUV camping setup allows you access to the East side of Maui without having to drive back-​and-​forth to a hotel somewhere. We had the opportunity to experience sunrises and sunsets, jungle trails, farms, etc at a pace that was slow, leisurely, and relaxed. All equipment worked as advertised. Truck drove very well. And, above all, Sean was a great ambassador to Maui.

Camp Maui X is the greatest way to explore the island! Sean is extremely informative, generous, and he is available ²⁴⁄₇ for any questions or concerns. We tried our best to not take advantage of that lol, but it’s nice to know you have back up in case anything happens. With the SUV/​car rental Sean included seriously EVERYTHING we needed for camping. And when I say everything I mean everything. Ex: gas grill, pans, cutting board, knives, utensils, plates, chairs, water jug, towels, napkin, bug spray, sleeping bags, pillows, lanterns… and much more! The tent was extremely easy to set up and put away! It was surprisingly comfy, cozy with and warm no matter what the weather was and we camped on a really cold/​windy night and slept like a baby! If it’s windy, I would bring ear plugs because it could be pretty loud. Camp Maui X is such a great company with high quality equipment… we were VERY impressed! Plus, Sean is so nice enough to pick you up from the airport and drop you off. Plus, he had great suggestions on places to eat and they were all bomb diggity! I cannot wait to come back and book with Camp Maui X because there is so much more of the island that we need to explore! Thanks again Sean for your hospitality!
