Mana kai. In the Hawaiian language means «Spirit of the Sea». Offering seven unique sails, our variety of sails should meet the needs of every guest. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or thrill seeking, this is an adventure that’s a must do for the entire family and we won’t disappoint. Bring aboard the drink of your choice and enjoy the beautiful waters of Waikiki. Private charters also available and may be customized to make it a perfect sail to fit your every need.

History

Established in 1977.

Mana Kai Catamaran was built in 1977 by William Brown in Honolulu, Hawaii. Inspired by his father, Waikiki beach boy, surfing, sailing, and soaring legend, Woody Brown who built the very first modern day catamaran (Manu Kai) William decided to build a boat of his own. Standing 32 feet long and 16 feet wide, the Mana Kai can accommodate up to 26 passengers. Our famous Hawaiian Rainbow sail, lounge net and a pleasant sound system adds to your sailing pleasure. We are an environmentally friendly, USCG certified vessel. Our catamaran is located on Waikiki Beach in front of the world famous Duke Statue and beach front of the Hyatt Regency Hotels. Reservations are welcome online, by phone, or walk up (subject to availability). Come join us on your next sailing experience an explore Waikiki in style!

We got lucky.
Saw about a dozen dolphins swimming around AND a huge turtle. We were told this doesn’t happen that often so we were super thankful to have that experience. We were simply expecting a relaxing boat ride, which would have been nice enough.
$ 25 for the early bird ride (around 9:00am) and $ 30 for the rest of the day. They take you around for about an hour.
Our guides, Brewsky and Woody (hope I got the spelling right) were really cool. Apparently this was the first catamaran out on Waikiki beach. Just look for the rainbow sail!

I had a great experience on the Manakai Catamaran. Definitely exceeded my expectation. For my birthday we went out and had a great time. The two men on the boat are super friendly, I believe their names were Alex and Kopono? Haha, sorry if I got your names wrong! But I would recommend going on this catamaran. It’s so peaceful, romantic, and super fabulous! I’m thinking of going on it again sometime soon!

With nothing planned on New Year’s Eve, I booked a random reservation for Manakai’s firework cruise for my girlfriend and I. The cruise was absolutely one of the best experiences I’ve had on Oahu. The captain, Woody, made us feel like family, something I truly appreciate. We will definitely be going back on another firework cruise some time in the near future. Thanks Manakai!!!

If you’re looking for one of the most amazing experiences on the island of Oahu, look no further! Whether you’re the type to take a morning, afternoon, or even sunset sail, the ManaKai Catamaran offers incredible views of the Honolulu skyline, majestic Oahu mountains, and rugged Diamond Head crater! The crew is wonderful; they provide a very local flavor and will take care of your every need. I can’t rave enough about this unforgettable experience. Definitely a must-​do whether local or visiting!

I had an amazing time, the sunset cruise is a MUST. The vibe was relaxed and perfect, and the view is absolutely stunning. You can bring your drinks onboard, which is really convenient. We were even able to stop the boat and swim for a while. This is a great activity for anyone, regardless of age. Our captain, Curtis, was truly welcoming and not to mention, he’s quite easy on the eyes. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Strongly recommended if you’re wanting to get away and enjoy Honolulu in a different perspective. ManaKai really knows how to take care of you and the family. If your looking to relax and enjoy the ocean or switching up the pre-​game ritual and hitting up the booze cruise, look for the rainbow sail in front of the Duke Kahanamoku statue.

This was a highlight of our trip! Our son had never done a catamaran sail. He was sad about not being able to take his DS but boy did his eyes light up when we got going and we were whipping through the water. He made his way down onto the net and thought he was pretty cool. He couldn’t believe he was so deep out in the water. It was a fun and happy experience. So easy. We were on the beach (behind Duke K statue) at 9:45am, they waited to get a few more people and we left at 10. Did not require tons of advance planning.
This is not the Manu Kai, that is a different boat. This is BYOB, it does not serve drinks, so it cuts down on the booze cruise atmosphere, at least before sunset :-)
