History
Established in 1925.
Mrs. Ella M. Everhard purchased the Dr. Thomas Leiter house in 1925 and donated it to the village of Wadsworth to be used as a library and meeting place for womens’ social clubs. The original house was razed in 1957 and replaced with a modern brick building. That building was renovated in 1987; a 14,000 sf addition, plus further renovations were completed in 2003. The building sits approximately on the same property once owned by early Wadsworth settler, Judge Frederick Brown, who had books brought from Connecticut to become part of a circulating library for the village.
