Meet the Business Owner

Jay D.

Business Owner

Jay Downie is a music educator in the West Metro area. At Waconia Music Studios, he teaches woodwind, brass, percussion, guitar and piano lessons. He has been a private music instructor for 14 years teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Jay has also taught concert band, jazz band, marching band, percussion ensemble, pep band, and drumline in public schools in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota. He marched snare in the Casper Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps where he performed across the country. Jay holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from South Dakota State University and a Master of Arts Degree in Education from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota.
