History

Established in 2008.

Lake Shore Funeral Home and Cremation Services– where our motto is «Let Us Show You The Difference A Caring Neighbor Can Make.»

We offer good old-​fashioned customer service with modern technology in casual, spacious, twenty-​first century facilities where families will feel comfortable receiving friends during their time of need.

The location was formerly Acts Christian Fellowship Church. In 2008, Brent and Carrie Shehorn purchased the 16,000 square foot building sitting on 4 serene acres, surrounded by pastures and blue skies. They transformed the former church into a beautiful and comforting funeral home to serve the community they grew up in.

Today, they are one of the leading Family Owned Funeral Homes in the Central Texas area.

1999 – 2005 — Operations Director, Crosier-​Pearson-​Mayfield Funeral Homes, Cleburne & Burleson

2006 –Specialty/​Staff Embalmer, Funeral Director for American Mortuary Service in Dallas, Waco & Temple Mortuary Services

2007 — Manager, Pecan Grove Funeral Home, Waco

2008 to Present — Owner, Director, President; Lake Shore Funeral Home, Waco
