Super Supplements

Not what it use to be. Years ago the staff was trained and knew what they were talking about but not since it was bought out by Vitamin Shop. I was in the store today, there were four people working, about eight customers in the store and not one was being helped. They were standing around talking and one had her cell phone out looking at that. In the twenty minutes I was in the store nobody offered any help to me at all. If I did not need the products that day I would have just left. I can tell you I won’t be going back. The selection is also not what is use to be. Whether I have shopped at Kirkland or Shoreline store the service is always the same… awful. Biggest mistake the company ever made was selling out to Vitamin Shop.

If you visited Super Supplements often for the great prices on a wide array of products, like I did, you may have to find other reasons to visit them from now on, or find a retail competitor that currently offers what Super Supplements – now a «family member» of the Vitamin Shoppe – used to.
I am a fan of several quality, low-​cost brands of supplements. I went in hoping to buy a new NOW Vitamin C Ascorbic Acid Powder 16 oz jar. The Vitamin Shoppe brand of supplements supplanted 40% of the shelf space in many areas of the store. A fellow shopper remarked that the variety of brands reduced, but the prices went up.
I don’t welcome these changes.
The staff are still very welcoming and helpful when I enter the store. If this review is still recent for you, my tip is to check the clearance shelves for your fave brands. I saved over $ 5.00 on Solgar’s sublingual Vitamin D3 because I checked the clearance section after being led to Super Sup’s Vitamin D area.

I have been to this location several times and always received pleasant counter assistance. I’ve never really experienced a wait to check out or any issues parking here.
I wasn’t sure if they carried a particular item that my naturopath recommended. The employee offered to bring me what they had in stock and when I wanted to buy two of one brand, he happily went back and got another for me. I really appreciated that he did that
This location is easy to find, right on the corner, and rather spacious compared to its previous location. The aisles are clearly marked and if you cannot find something, ask the folks there who would be happy to assist.

Pretty solid spot, usually just roll in and out once I’ve got what I need. I’m not a frequent visitor, however I’ve always been greeted politely, and followed up with to see if I had any questions on the majority of my visits.
I typically pick up Kelp, Fish Oil, and occasionally Amino Acid Blends. I also see that they have a full range of sizes of powdered Whey protein, as well as several other large brand names. Definitely one of the nicer Super Supplements I’ve been to, pretty easy to find what you’re looking for without assistance, everything is very clearly market with bigger signs above all the walls and shelves. From optical supplements, to detox cleansers, powdered protein and root extracts, if you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for, you may find a substitute.

This store is spacious.
I’ve been to a few Super Supplements and this one is big and looks new. I do like my U District location better b/​c they always know what I need and am talking about. The one guy I asked to help me wasn’t as knowledgeable. Overall everyone there was friendly.

I have shopped at SSS for many, many years. Have known the sales staff by name because I was always in there it seemed. But since the store moved to its new location the service has gone down hill. They will NOT be getting my dollars any more. There are other places to shop! Good bye SSS, Hello Vita Cost on-​line FREE shipping for $ 25.00. That’s one bottle at SSS!

This chain of stores is an incredible resource for those sent by the many naturopaths in Seattle to buy obscure and wondrous things.
That said, these purchases are discretionary, and staff at this branch should go get some customer service training from the Interbay store, where sales people do not have unfounded edgy attitude, and say «thank you» at the end of a pricey transaction. I’ll go there.

This is my Super Supplements.
Yes, it’s a chain, but they’re Seattle grown and they’ve done a commendable job at not selling out. The people that work there really know their stuff and aren’t ‘judgmental’ when you come in. It’s really a mini-​Costco when it comes to health and natural products, because the prices are about as good as it gets, even in comparison to online. I also know that, from the top down, they care about what they sell… there are even products they won’t carry… because the quality is not up to their standards.
As for this particular store, what’s not to love. It’s even closer to my house, it’s the newest one and is just fun to wander around in.
If you’re in the neighborhood, I’d highly recommend a visit.

I was sad that when I found out the old store closed back in July and I am extremely excited when I found they move the store couple blocks down the street.
The new store location is 1000 times better than the old as far as location and size of the store goes. I don’t feel like going in a cage trying to fine my favor supplement.

I’ve been purchasing supplements from these guys since their 1^st store opened as Seattle Super Supplements in the U-​District & the quality of service, product selection & commitment to competitive prices has never wavered. I’m very happy with my decision to have recommended Super Supplements to everyone I know and many who I don’t!

I sure like Super Supplements. But not this store. I live fairly close so I shop here often and have already spend a few hundred dollars at this store. The total during my last visit, after tax, was over $ 25. I had a Chinook book coupon for $ 5 off of a $ 25 purchase — so I wanted to use it, but was told the subtotal, not the total, had to be $ 25. This «rule» is not stated on the coupon, yet the store would not honor it.
Since my total was over $ 25, I asked if I could get a stamp on my punch card, but was also told «No» for the same reason. This is customer service? To someone who shops at the store often?
My subtotal was $ 23.55. So because of $ 1.45, the store is giving up hundreds of dollars in potential sales from a customer who lives nearby.
Adiós to this Super Supplements. I’ll be spending money at the Lynnwood store from now on.

Great service. Lots of product to look at. We can spend a while here. :)
They have a great skincare aisle with natural ingredients, including make-​up.
From our visits, we have learned to appreciate goji berries, ostrich jerky, hawthorne berries, lotion bars, tea, emu oil, this chocolate-​peanut butter cookie chunk thing (so good), and a half dozen vitamins/​supplements.
Going back to the service. They have extreme patience and make sure you understand how to use whatever you buy. After a while, they recognize us from our monthly trips.
Like the other reviewer said, it’s really best to access this store coming south on 99 or else it’s just really impossible. Usually parking is fine, except for the people who park for the discount smoke store (who aren’t supposed to be there) next door. S’okay, we will go back.
PS: If you have one of those UW «Survival Kit» coupon books that come out every quarter, the coupon in there works at this location (even if it’s not printed on the coupon). Huzzah!

Me: «Do you guys have any Happy Colon pills? They are for my dog.»
SSSW (Seattle Super Supplement worker): «Oh, yeah. We have some in back in the fridge. Let me get a bottle for you.»
A week later:
Me:“Do you have any dessicated liver powder? Its for my dog. I’m making dog cookies.“
SSSW:“Oh Yeah, we have a couple of big bottles back here. How much do you need?“
Two weeks later:
Me: «Do you have any Dessicated bone meal and brewers yeast? I’m making dog cookies.»
SSSW: «Oh yeah, in the back. You do know you can’t eat the bone meal?
Me:“Yeah, its for dog cookies.»
SSSW:“OK, cool.“
Three stars for good prices, always having what I need and friendly service. One extra star for not asking questions.
Parking is poor and it can be hard to get to if your traveling north on I-​99.
