Great cold salad selection and pre-cooked meat dishes. Old school«grandma-made» type food. Great spot for fancy chocolate/candy gifts.

Everything I’ve tried here is delicious. Went there again last night. Picked up some fried fish, a few eggplant side dishes, rabbit in cream sauce, and some type of pastry with spinach! All terrific. Have also had the stuffed cabbage. I can eat that every day. Has a great savory slightly sweet and sour flavor. Plenty of natural umami in this dish. Yum

First visit. Fantastic stuff — too bad I can’t read russian so I don’t know what any of it is. The stuffed cabbage is very good, as is the breaded pork chop. The apple stuffed pastry is AMAZING. the people are great. All told it’s worth the drive and I am now a huge fan!

Hit by a sudden craving for Russian salads, I went on a serious search for a Russian market in, none other than, West Hollywood. It was between Odessa and Tatiana so naturally… I went to both! for deli salad selection, Tatiana wins. The salads are all lined up and available for you to point, pick and choose(and even sample)! LOVELOVELOVELOVE both the crab salad and the seaweed salad! caveat: the grocery selection is slim.

Nice neighborhood grocery/deli. Small and clean. Enough salad and prepared items to make your own feast. Russian beers, newspapers/magazines and CANDY too. My son loves the canned«Sprats v masla» that are hard to find elsewhere. Prices for the items I bought all seemed fair. Staff(principally Russian speaking) was helpful. But, for bakery items I would go down the street to Stolichnaya.

This is a little Russian Market. I don’t know of any others but I discovered this place when I went to see my Optometrist, Dr. Mark Chung, who’s located on the second floor of this place(See my review for him, he’s awesome). Anyhow, I’ve been to Russia in the late 80s. I know, I’m dating myself here so I’m a little older than the rest of you! I had such a great time in Russia and ate so many wonderful foods like herring, sardines, caviar and borscht. Man, the Sardines in Russia are soooo sooo incredibly awesome! In my group, I ate most of them. Well, you can’t really find the sardines anywhere in the USA but at this market, they have some very good canned sardines. I am also a HUGE fan of Tongue. They have the best tongue, prepared like any good Jewish Grandma would! I always get Tongue, Mushroom Salad, Beet Salad and Chicken Liver from their deli counter. They’ve got Chicken Kiev and a whole bunch of other things, including Middle Eastern Style Russian food. Also, make sure to pickup a load of Rye Bread, «Soldier Bread». That’s like the same stuff I had in Russia. In Russia, I would arrive at our dinner table. Me being Asian, I craved Rice but nope, there would just be loaves of bread piled high. That’s how I remember the Russians did it! Some reviews have said the older ladies behind the counter aren’t nice? Well, you just have to butter them up! Say, «Spesssiba» which means thank you and they’ll start smiling. They recognize me and always smile at me when I walk in! The décor is very plain with food laid out but you’re not dining here so who cares. Just pickup a buffet of food and bring it home. Be adventurous. I can’t wait to pick out some Russian Salami!

Shopped only a few times here. Never tried the prepared food items yet. I’d probably give a better rating once I do. The people arent friendly, but they are quick and attentive. The prices are fine. The selection of Russian Items are good. Once I try the prepare food items I probably will be able to give a proper review.

My rating might be a bit bias since one of the women working here is an old family friend. A Russian deli at its best. I actually come here often when I do shopping for my grandmother. Lots of different things to choose from. Soups, meats, salads, sweets, can food … all Russian(for a better list of items… check out Dawson’s review). If you ever wanted to try different Russian food without paying too much, then this place is for you. Order a bunch of different stuff in small containers and enjoy. They have Russian candy that I used to love when I was young. And actual Russian Ice Cream!(tastes exactly how I remember) Only thing I don’t like about this place is their bread selection. Other Russian places I’ve been to have a larger bread variety. :)

To be honest, this place isn’t the friendliest, but they’re courteous and put up with my finicky requests for just a spoonful of this or a half-container of that. So, I’ve been able to try a lot of interesting little nibbles. I haven’t been too adventurous, but my tried-and-true favorites are ground chicken wrapped with cabbage, flavorful and comforting with a slightly sweet kick; tiny potatoes punched up with dill; and borscht green soup, studded with spinach and potatoes and refreshing when eaten chilled. Together, they make a perfect dinner when there’s no time to cook or run to the store! My mom has tried the chicken liver pâté and loves it. I’m not really into pâté, but there are also countless other dishes, freshly baked pastries, deli meats, canned and dry goods, and fresh produce crammed into that tiny space. Who knows, I might even try the lamb feet one day. But only if they’re nice about it.

There are a number of Russian delis and markets in this neighborhood, but this is one of my favorites, both for it’s size(it’s one of the larger markets) and selection. They have a deli counter with some of their homemade specialties — marinated mushrooms, garlic mushroom salad, pickled tomatoes, eggplant salad, borscht, beet salad, olivieh(Russian style potato salad w/minced meat), cutlets(ground, seasoned, pan fried chicken patties), fresh blini and sala(thin crepes and butter fat) for caviar, even good gefilte fish made fresh(this is where we come at Passover) and much, much more. Another must is their selection of specialty sausages, cheeses and dairy products. There are too many to list, it’s like a Russian Bristol Farms. You’ll find a variety of imported Russian products from newspapers and magazines, black bread and Russian rye, to honey and preserves, crackers and spreads, caviar and savories. There’s also a small area with some fresh produce including good Russian style cucumbers and tomatoes(don’t be put off by their unpolished exteriors, they’re great). Don’t leave without checking out the sweets! There’s a counter area near the corner of the deli with small bowls each overflowing with imported, colorfully individual wrapped Russian chocolates. My favorites are the«squirrel» and«bear» but there are tons to choose from. Another good pick is the mak(pronounced mock), which means poppy seed — it’s a pastry with sweet poppy filling that will make a mess of your teeth, but can’t be beat. If you don’t like poppy, try the«alligator» which is another pastry filled with nuts. Oh, and don’t be shy. Even though everyone will be speaking Russian, they all speak English too and are more than happy to answer questions :)
