Ascent

Quite possibly the worst experience I have had with any Property Management (Decron Management and their manager Paul and maintenance guy Tony here) I have dealt with. During my one year stay here in Apt #318, there were 3 major water leakages (1 of those leakage damaged the whole apt and took them a month to fix). Water problems are there through out the pipeline and the management knows it but does a cheap quick fix job. These water issues are recurring and you can even see water spilling out of pipes in the garage from time to time. Water issue further lead to electricity issue and internet issue in my unit and when I called the emergency line, they said that they will look at it the next day (meaning they don’t care if electricity in half of my apartment is not working and I am sitting in the dark with no kitchen appliances usable).
A lot of people below have mentioned that Paul is a great manager but to be honest, he only asks certain people to write reviews whom he is certain of will give him and the property a good rating. My experience has been that it is almost impossible to get in touch with property management (irrespective of the severity of your apt issue) specially if you are at work. I already have had a much better professional experience with my new property manager in the last month since I have been at my new place than in the whole year I was at Ascent.
Moving out was the best decision I made and I did not want to write this review and just move on. However, once you move out, your calls and emails will be completely ignored by the management. I kept asking them for my security deposit check and had to personally stop by after a month and wait there for Paul to actually call the corporate so that they can issue the check. Check arrived a couple of days later and they charged me rent for 1^st day of Sept, even though I officially moved out August 31^st (date of check out inspection and handing over keys). I am just so sick and tired of dealing with them at this point that I do not even want to waste any more of time dealing with either Paul or Decron.
Super cheap and irresponsible and impossible to get in touch with management. Had my worst experience of living there and you clearly are paying $$$ for the location but do not expect to get service in return for what you are paying for. Gym was never renovated during my time there. I am much happier at my new place and will not recommend Ascent to anyone, specially not Apt #318, 218 or 118 (since they have the worst water issues), which will spread to other units unless management invests heavily in fixing the pipelines, which i doubt they will. Goodbye Ascent and good riddance!

I am a new tenant at Ascent Apartments, and very excited to be at this new residence. The building is excellently maintained, with great facilities. What is making this experience so great is the property manager Paul. From day one of viewing the facility, the touring of the property, and finally the signing of the lease, Paul has made this the most inviting residential rental experience I’ve ever had in Los Angeles. Paul’s attentiveness, calm demeanor, and incredible patience made this the most positive experience, and he is a great asset to this very appealing building. Happy to be here … feels like a family … thank you Paul.

I have been on a tireless hunt for an apartment and met all kinds of leasing agents and property managers. Paul stood out for me for his intelligence, his grace, his patience, sensitivity and understanding. Decron Properties is well-​represented by him. He makes an incredible impression. I was really taken with him. Super guy.

Amazing views from the rooftop pool, where there is also a spa. Perfect! L.A. living at it’s finest.

I love the location and building is well kept. Also, I can not say enough good things about the property manager Paul, he is amazing to deal with. It’s always helpful to deal with good service especially when you are moving across country. He was very helpful and everything I needed for my unit he provided. I am pleased with the unit and building.

This is a really great place to live and has only improved since I moved here a few years ago. The neighborhood is kept up beautifully and the building was recently renovated. Paul is doing a fantastic job managing Ascent.

I am a very long term tenant in this building, and I can honestly say that in all the years I have lived at 949 Larrabee St — now called ASCENT apartments — it has never looked better, or been maintained as well as now. Additionally, finally we have a real professional manager who takes his job seriously and works hard at it. Property management is a much more demanding job than anyone realizes, and I very much appreciate the attention, help and hard work our new manager, Paul Illi, devotes to keeping the building in good condition and the tenants happy.
It’s a lovely building in a wonderful location, and it’s finally getting the attention and care it deserves.

Great building. Great management. What more could you ask for in beautiful West Hollywood.

Ascent Apartments is excellent. Amazing apartment building with beautiful top roof, pool, jacuzzi, gym hang out area and lovely lobby. It’s in the heart of west Hollywood, walking distance to the best LA restaurants, clubs bars and shoppings.
The stuff makes Ascent even better, especially manager Paul. He is so professional, friendly (always welcoming residents with a smile), nice, thoughtful and helpful, always available if I have any questions. he does wonderful job keeping residents informed and the building in tip top shape. He is really fast in taking care of issues when they arise. always on top of it…
Can’t say enough about quality of this building and the people who runs it…
Overall Ascent has a lot of to offer and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to move to weho area

I just moved here, and so far so good. The service, however is amazing and Paul the manager is amazing. I see and hear in a short time how much he has improved this building and am super impressed. I expect within a year it to be one of the premier places to live off the Sunset Strip:

This is a fantastic place to live in. I’ve been hear for 10 years, and it’s getting better and better. Especially with the new manager in a building, now it looks like a boutique hotel you never want to leave. It is very central location and so easy to get wherever you need. It has absolutely gorgeous view to downtown LA and Century city. I just love this place and would recommend it to everyone! Elena

I am living in an apartment Ascent already half a year. It is very comfortable and renovated apartments, including parking, gym and a rooftop pool. Very cool location, prestigious, secure and fun area. Management Ascent is very professional and helpful. Especially manager Paul Ilii:) He is the best!!! He helps me to resolve any issues and little problems, and very friendly. Thank you Paul:)

I’ve lived in this building for almost two years. The whole place has gone through a beautiful renno. But what makes this place so great to live in is the new manager Jamie Lee. She is personable, engaging, and she gets things done. Within weeks of her arrival she managed to turn the place into a palace. She’s patient and knows how to make people feel at home.
