Specialties
The audiologists and staff at REM Audiology Associates strive to provide the most complete and comprehensive services for patients of all ages, newborn through geriatric. We promote hearing healthcare beyond our office doors through involved community efforts in local school districts and nursing homes/assistive living residences. At REM, we follow a philosophy that begins with taking a centered approach to professional diagnostics, then expanding on this to provide the most appropriate rehabilitative and/or educational audiological services for each individual case.
The audiologists at REM Audiology Associates, P.C. are doctoral-level clinicians with extensive background training in clinical, educational, and technological audiology. Combined, they offer decades of professional experience and with the direct assistance of qualified staff members, they work together to provide a first-class, tailored approach to the individual needs of patient and student hearing health care. And working from offices in Philadelphia, Medford, and Voorhees, REM Audiologists can offer their services and their knowledge to many people in the Tri-State area.
Our mission for servicing children who are hard-of-hearing/APD students aims to help them achieve their goals by fully maximizing their potential, ultimately allowing them to demonstrate mastery of skills and talents necessary for life with the involvement and support of families and community…
History
Established in 1984.
REM Audiology Associates had its start 30 years ago as a family business, when Dr. Elizabeth Patterson rented space in a pediatrician’s office in Philadelphia. Over the years, REM Audiology has grown from one audiologist and one support person to 5 Doctors of Audiology, 2 Master audiologists, 2 hearing aid specialists, and 7 support staff.
From that one room in Philadelphia, REM has expanded to a larger Philadelphia office on Roosevelt Blvd, as well as two offices in New Jersey (Voorhees and Medford). Dr. Maegan Mapes, an audiologist who 10 years ago started a family business in the Medford area, runs the Medford office. Dr. Patterson and Dr. Mapes share similar philosophies about individualized and customized care and patient empowerment through knowledge.
REM Audiology has grown with the community in mind. In addition to in office appointments over the years, we have also serviced school systems on premise and assisted individuals in nursing homes and assistive living facilities.
