Shutter Hut

Yesterday my shutters were installed and I haven’t stopped smiling since! What a great experience from start to finish. Michael, the owner, was great to work with. Very professional and even came for the install. The installers were friendly, professional and no mess whatsoever and the quality is like none I have seen before. Thank you Michael for the professionalism! I’m getting my sliders next!

First and foremost, let me entirely retract my accolades for the Shutter Hut in my previous post. While the shutters continue to be high quality, the caliber of installation competency and ownership concern in problem solving is disappointing. I wrote my original review upon Shaun’s (one of the owners) urging and now obviously regret it.
My purchase of 4 shutters at $ 750.00 each and their installation was in my fiancé’s home and was meant to be a surprise to him as he liked them in the house that I’m now selling. While he was there during the installation, he didn’t want to upset me and say anything as he saw the company people hanging the shutters in an amateur fashion. His measurement of competency comes from working with trades people on a regular basis in his properties.
All the shutters were installed rubbing against each other and one was ordered swinging open in the incorrect direction. Calling the company and leaving a message as he would with another contractor, he was told on the return call from the other owner (Michael) he couldn’t get a shutter that opens to the left. Their manufacturer, who makes custom made shutters in all different sizes and shapes with numerous designs, only makes shutters that open to the right. (yeah, right).
The original installer immediately came out to correct the installation issue of rubbing but first tried to show my fiancé how to «properly» close shutters which was nothing more than a procedure to get around fixing the issue. He in fact did correct his installation issue.
My fiancé did try to intercede with the owner but Michael blew him off. While he has dropped it, I’m extremely embarrassed with this situation. Reflect on my experience before you subject yourself to this happening to you. Shutter Hut are great people to work with as long as you do things their way.

We had a large window in our family room done with plantation shutters. We got a few different estimates and SH was comparable, but theirs was for actual wood! From start to finish Michael and Sean were top notch in the whole process. Always on time, explained everything well and lastly, the finished product is gorgeous and absolutely love it! Followed up with a hand written thank you note (nice touch)! Highly recommend and will use again!
