History

Established in 2008.

Jewel Web & Design is a Vista company providing graphic design, logo and web design as well as Facebook fan pages.

The company was established by Janja Watson in 2008. Jewel Web Design turned into Jewel Web & Design when graphic design services were added a year later.

The name came from the owners history and connection in the jewelry industry and intended target market. The web design target market quickly extended to all kinds of web design and content management systems for all business types.

In 2010, we added web design for Facebook fan pages, landing pages and Facebook mini-​sites to our services, since more businesses are engaged in social media marketing. In 2011, we have increased our web design skills to mobile web design and responsive web designs, websites that scale to different devices.

Janja W.

Business Owner

Born and raised in Switzerland, Janja Watson always knew she wanted to do something creative in life. In school, she attended every drawing class there was and when time came, she took an internship in each graphic design and jewelry making. Due to her fascination of creating a piece of jewelry from scratch, she got a degree as a master bench jeweler in 1997. A gemology degree soon followed.

After 11 years in the jewelry business, Janja first got introduced to web design when she built her own website in 2001 for her jewelry business. After several years working as a master jeweler and assistant manager, she was looking for a new challenge and went back to school for a web and graphic design degree. Today, she owns Jewel Web & Design in Vista, CA.

During her graphic and web design career, Janja has won several graphic design and web design awards including Best of Show 2010 for graphic design and Best of Show 2010 for web design.
