My baby Sophie was hurt after normal business hours so her vets office recommend taking her to Tulare Kings pet ER. I can’t stress how great they where with Sophie and I. They seen us promptly. Sophie needed to have surgery I thought oh they will keep her over night and but they dropped everything and they took her back for surgery within an hour of us showing up. I had my baby back home resting all within four hours. They gave me a price quote and the final bill was cheaper than they estimated. Great place to take your pets in an emergency situation. My recent experiences have been mixed, the first time we came to this animal hospital was last week for my cat. He suffered from kidney complications due to a UTI. We were treated wonderful by the vet she was understanding and very helpful. Although when our cat got worse we had to put him down, at that time the nurse was rude and wasn’t considerate of our emotions towards our cat.
This past Saturday we took our dog in because she was trembling. The vet was an idiot for a lack of better words! She tested our dog for Parvo and came out negative, which is something I could’ve told her but I guess I put too much confidence in some people. Anyways my dog wasn’t getting any better and Monday morning we took her to Redwood Vet. Hospital (best place to take your animals) they ran tests and found that my dog was poisoned with antifreeze. Needless to say I don’t care for this place but ends up being the last resort. It’s very unfortunate.

I recently had to take my cat here for an emergency visit for a urethral blockage and I could not be happier with the service. From the moment I walked in they were all very friendly. I was seen right away because thankfully there were no other people waiting. They immediately took my Pawly back to see the vet and they confirmed that he was indeed blocked. From what I had read I was so scared that he had something that was going to be an ongoing problem and would require lifelong care and special food. I was literally bawling in the little room because I did not want to be spending thousands on my beloved kitty and I was considering putting him down. The girl who helped me was so patient as I sobbed and asked questions. They even waited patiently while I went out to call my hubby to run the situation by him. We decided to go ahead and have the blockage cleared and give him a chance to live. In the end they were able to treat my little guy and it was not a lifelong condition he had at all but instead a foxtail had gotten lodged where it did not belong.
I had always been afraid to take a pet to the Emergency vet but I was relieved to find that they prices were actually not much more than I would have paid at my regular vet. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Such a deception. Very rude people who think they have experience but can care less for your animals. Unfortunately all they care for is the money and not the pet. Some people should find jobs they enjoy and not jobs where they really do not genuinely care about the animals. What a disgrace! They do not even deserve one star.

We brought home a very sweet stray pitbull, and ended up with a bloody mess on our hands when our outdoor cat came in the house through the doggy door. Neither animal was at fault, but we were very concerned for both of them, so it was wonderful to have a place we could take them at 10 o’clock on a Sunday night. From the time we walked in the door, until even after we left, our animals received the best care. The staff are all incredibly friendly, professional, and exemplary at their jobs. They gave us a «worst case scenario» estimate, didn’t do anything that was not necessary, and got consent from us every step of the way. The final bill was way below the estimate, and they even followed up later to ask how the animals were doing when they returned home. Can’t say enough wonderful things about how thorough, and great they were with our critters! They may be priced a little higher than other vets’ offices, but it is because they are providing extended service, which has higher costs associated with it. We are so thankful for them, and so are our pets!

My fourth visit here! Best staff, awesome vets. Couldn’t be more happier going here. I have always been treated well along with my fur kids. Easy access and available on weekends.

I’m so thankful to have them in town. The staff is very professional and compassionate. Yes, they can be expensive but I’m just grateful that they are available to help my babies.

For an emergency vet it took over 3 hours to be seen. To some up the long story I could write… over priced, long wait, only one doctor working while 7 other people are sitting talking in the office, they do not accept checks even though they tell you that, they discredit what you say, the doctor didn’t even come out to tell me how it went, they wouldn’t let me see my dog afterwards until I payed, then they held on to my dogs medicine and told me I could come back tomorrow and finish paying and if I didn’t I would be sent to collections Monday morning at 7am… Waiting in the little rooms where there isn’t any air conditioning. Nurse was very nice, told me it was ok to leave my door open to get some air. While waiting I met another lady in the room next to me, her dogs stomach was slit open at least four inches across its lower stomach and they hadn’t even been seen yet. See was there for at least an hour an a half, while I was waiting and her dog hadn’t been seen at all. Another man came in, while I was fighting for my dogs medicine, his dog was hit by a car. He was very upset with tears running down his face and they took the dog into the room and the office lady asked him to fill out some paperwork followed with a «just so you know we need a $ 500 deposit just to see her, and if her heart stops beating do you want to pay the extra to resuscitate.» My mouth fell open

Brought my new puppy here and he was diagnosed with parvo. He was very ill. The vet techs were awesome. They were optimistic even when I wasn’t and treated my dog like their own. The vets were straight forward and treated my puppy well. He survived and is home now. Receptionists could be quicker. They often seemed overwhelmed and confused even when the hospital was not very busy.

In our emergency they were great and kind. Thanks so much for taking of care of my daughter and her dog after their horrific car crash.

I have never had good service here. It starts the minute you walk in the door. I just took my dog there recently (giving them one more try). First of all, no one is stationed at the receptionist desk. If they talk to you to fill out paperwork, then they immediately return to the back and if you have questions, etc, no one is out front to help you. Another family with their pet stood at the desk for 10 – 15 minutes waiting on assistance while I was in the waiting area. This gentleman finally got someone that just peeked their head through the door… did not even come to the desk and asked him what he wanted. He advised he had been waiting more than an hour for an estimate and was angry. When the employee went to the back again, he told me, «I have been here several times, you just have to get nasty to get anything done.» I was told that my dog was not critical, so they had no idea how long my wait would be. My dog was in obvious pain, so I took her to Fresno where she was roomed, vitalized, and a vet was in the room with me in approximately 10 minutes, including signing in at the front desk. Another experience I had here was helping my neighbor who needed to euthanize an old, dying dog. I carried her into the waiting area and a lady was very rude and said, «What do you want?» I explained the dog was old and dying and we were hoping for a much more humane ending for her. She rolled her eyes in the back of her head, and THREW a stack of charts she had on the floor and was obviously angry for some reason unknown to me. This was not the welcome I expected when my friends are crying and upset over loosing their beloved pet. I have tried this place 4 – 5 times, and have yet to have a positive experience. I will not go here again. I get much better service in Fresno. It is disappointing to me to have to drive to Fresno to get the type of care that should be expected anywhere.

I have been to Tulare –Kings several times with my dogs. They have always been caring and compassionate to me. They have taken great care of my pets. I have seen some negative reviews prior to going, but they were not true in my experience. They are expensive, but I understand they are there when our normal vets aren’t.

I’ve taken several animals to this clinic for emergencies that couldn’t wait until regular hours with my vet. All of my animals and myself have been treated professionally, and with respect. Yes, they are expensive, but so is the ER for humans! Yes, I feel we are very, very fortunate to have these emergency services for our four legged family members.

I took my 1 ½ year old American Bulldog to this clinic when he swallowed two socks. Instead of laying a huge guilt trip on me for waiting it out and risking damage to his intestines, the Vet on staff that evening coached me on what signs to look for that would suggest a blockage a require surgery, and gave me the honest facts about the likelihood of him expelling them on his own without surgery. She told me that ¹⁄₃ of the time they pass the socks, ¹⁄₃ of the time they throw them up, and ¹⁄₃ of the time they require surgery for removal. She left the decision to me without the typical «scare tactics», and sure enough the first night he puked up the first sock, and the second night came the second sock. My total bill that night was $ 90.00. Rushing into surgery, like some clinics encourage you to do would have been a fortune. From my experience, you can trust Tulare-​Kings Vet Emergency. They’re all about the what’s best for the customer and the patient, while others are all about the dollar.

As other reviewers have said, this place is all about the money, plus they are WAY too expensive. If it can wait, take your pet to a Vet during the week as this place is very unethical… they sent a letter to a reviewer stating they will no longer treat any of their animals due to their concerns, really? What childlike behavior, they need to be reported to the Veterinary board as they’re taking advantage of being the only/​closest Emergency Pet Clinic in the area (others are in Fresno or Bakersfield).

I totally understand and feel for those people that have had sad experiences with this vet clinic. I however have had a really wonderful experience. I took my cat in and they were nothing but gracious an kind. This is an Emergency clinic that takes care of the most critical patients first. While I was there a very long time I saw two dogs with snake bites, one dog bleeding out from being hit by a car, a police dog with a ripped tongue, and a cat that they did a c-​section on. There were at least 30 critical cases that came in while we were waiting. I was completely impressed with the care they took with my cat baby as well as what I saw from just sitting there. They were kind to everyone. I think we all get emotional when it comes to our pets and while we want the best and fastest care we have to remember that three texts and one vet are taking care of all the emergencies in the county and hanford. Thank you for being there and doing your best everyday.

This place is horrible! All they care about is money. They don’t care that your animal may be dieing they just want your money! They hit something in my dogs leg that caused him to loose feeling in his foot. Im assuming it would tingle every now and then because he would chew it until it would bleed. I went in asking then to dress it so he couldn’t chew it and cover the bill since they’re the ones that caused the problem they refused. the only time I will take my dog there is if it is an emergency and my vet’s office is not open. my dog now has to deal with not having feeling in his foot and when he does get feeling in his foot he chews it until it’s mangled. This place doesn’t care about your dog don’t take them there unless you absolutely have to.

My puppy was acting lethargic and shaky so I took him to the emergency vet on a Saturday. They are open 24 hrs on weekends. So anyway I was told to stand outside because of possible contagious puppy, even though there was no animals in the waiting room, then after standing for 30 minutes in the heat with my pup she finally called us in. Then a very educated sweet nurse came to see my pup and was able to tell me about my pups problem and she convinced me I didn’t need to see the vet (I already knew this but bf was hell bent on taking him) so she saved me 90 $ bill so that’s why I gave a 3 star instead 1

I would never take another animal to this facility!!! The staff is rude, uncaring and all they care about is money. They would not even lok at our animal without $ 500 up front. They told us our dog needed major surgery and had a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance of survival only to then say that she had no chance once they had done the surgery and ran the bill past $ 4000. They do not have the animals best interest in mind at all they only care about squeezing as much money out of you as they can for unneeded procedures. They give false hope and unethical care.
