Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting

Maaco in Visalia did the Worst job on body work and paint that i have ever seen. My child could have done a better job on the body work. They did not clean it before painting. Painted right over Dirt. Overspray everywhere, on other color, on new tires. Parts missing. Make sure if you do go there for any reason you have everything you expect written on the invoice or you have no recourse. I got burnt by Maaco and by BofA because Maacos invoice was so vague. The owner Phil and his secretary Angel could care less about doing a quality job or about customer satisfaction.

Had my 2009 Dodge Caravan repaired here after a fender bender, and would not recommend. Their work was very poor, to say the least and had to return it to them several times. And then about two months later, the lower part of the kick panel near the left fender fell off. I do not recommend.

omg… where do I start? In April of this year I began my horrifying ordeal with Maaco. My car had been vandalized and I had decided to take it here for a new paint job. Everyone told me don’t ever even take my go cart here… but i figured how bad could they really be? Well if only I had listened… I’m writing this review because if I can save even just one person from using these moron’s «services»…I feel I’ve done my duty for mankind.
Let me start off by saying I have an 03 Nissan Sentra SE-​R Spec-​V that is a show and drag car. And yes I am a chick. I had it painted black, and got the highest level of paint that Maaco offers, and spent $ 1500.
Problem 1: When I originally took my car in and dropped it off, the manager Phil told me I needed to buy all new emblems for my car, because the old ones wouldn’t go on straight and they wouldn’t look as good. I drag race my car and she’s always on display so I wanted her to be perfect. I went and spent $ 90 on new custom emblems. Four days later when I went to pick the car up, my old emblems had been put back on, after the guy had wrote in huge bold letters on the order not to put them back on, but that I did want to keep them. When I complained to another manager, Angel I believe is his name, he got really stupid with me as if it was my fault. My car is black and my emblems I ordered were pink, and he just kept going on and on about how he didn’t like the new emblems i got anyways… uhhh dont try to overcompensate your mistakes by taking sh*t to me! They ended up telling me that when my emblems came in to bring the car back and they would *try* to replace them without jeopardizing the paint. I ended up leaving the SE-​R and Nissan emblems, but taking off the Sentra emblem and replacing it with a Nismo emblem myself, and putting the pink Spec-​V stickers on myself. They’re gorgeous.
Problem 2: My hood. My car required a lot of body work because it had been in previous crash before i owned it, and there was bondo that needed to be re-​done on the hood. The hood also had a huge, very deep scratch on it down the middle where it was vandalized. When I got my car home I was showing my brother her beautiful new paint, and as we were standing back looking from the front, we noticed she had an Elvis lip. Where the front of the hood meets the front grill, it was completely lopsided, just like Elvis’ lip. And to top it all off, about a week after it was painted, the bondo cracked in 2 places. oh… AND you could still see the original damn scratch. After calling and bitching about it to no end, Phil decided to eat the cost and just replace the hood. They ordered the hood a month later and had it painted and I took my car in and had it replaced. I think what pissed me off the most is after the dude was done putting it on and i got in the car, i saw that there were huge white footprints on my $ 80 Nismo OEM floormats. I went the f*ck off.
Problem 3: My $ 500 Megan Racing exhaust was painted half black. I had to switch my exhaust back to stock (during a race might I add), so that they could strip the paint off and re-​polish it.
Problem 4: A month after the paint job, the paint started chipping under both headlights. They’re excuse: I didn’t take out the headlights so they couldn’t get under there… umm sorry but isn’t it common sense that if you’re doing a «prep» job, thats part of the prep!!! Luckily, well, not luckily, but I had gotten it keyed YET AGAIN in June and while it was being painted at Miranda’s Kustoms (please see that Unilocal review as well… more morons), I took the front bumper off so that they could re-​paint it. I get it back and what do ya know… theres paint runs where they obviously didn’t prep the surface. they just ran the paint gun over it and called it a day. then forgot to put my front license plate back on and i had to make yet another trip.
In conclusion: SCREW MAACO. Its places like this which is why i have decided to go into automotive business for myself. If you want something done right you gotta do it yourself.
