So today my husband and I stop in to have lunch at 11am, Thinking the food would be fresh and hot but no such luck. Had to ask for hot fries and my burger was cold and had been re warmed. The cheese was dried out and my husband bacon burger was cold too. They had no coke in the coke machine. And when we ask for hot fries we got an attitude. I will never go there again.

Wendy’s, eat fresh! Stopped here today for a quick bite to eat with my mentee. I was really impressed with the new renovations, inside and out. Wendy’s is setting the bar high for the fast food image. The exterior has modern architecture and clean lines. The interior has a new layout with booths and high top tables. Clean new bathrooms are a plus. New coke machines like the ones @ 5 guys. New modern signage and a sleek fireplace? Go ahead Wendy! I picked to sit in the front where I could people watch. I didn’t know the guys from Boondock Saints ate @ Wendy’s?! I order off of the value menu and can always count on a delish bacon cheeseburger for under $ 2.00…

Guess what kiddies … IT’S STORYTIME!!! Who would have thought what I would learn about Wendy’s based on this sole visit. This was our last night in the Chesapeake(11.5% restaurant tax!!) area and decided to get Wendy’s and Chick-fil-a. During my Unilocal reviews we chose this location and noticed a CHECKIN bonus — come to the store, check in and receive a free frosty. Didn’t suggest any purchase was required but could have been. Having reviewed other Wendy’s it appears in the Virginia Beach area — this was available at most of them — suggesting that perhaps one company owned all the participating locations. We came in — and ordered the new Pretzel Cheese Bacon Burger(single) and my son got the Asiago spicy chicken. Both very good however the greens on the pretzel was limp. They are not using standard lettuce but more like mesclun greens. Unfortunately not having the Pretzel burger there and then I cannot state how good it is compared to most other buns — but it was tasty none the less. My wife mentioned though that this bun is all the craze. … then we showed the check in. The cashier — no clue what that was about — never heard about it. She asked a manager — she came over — no idea what that was about. She then asked another manager — she too — no idea what that was about. Then that manager went to a guy sitting in the corner with a notebook — he knew what it was about and stated that it was valid. We got our frosty. ** Now had we been refused the check in offer, then that would have been enough for me to walk — on principle alone. Back home in Canuckville — I had a complaint about the store across the street and called into Customer Service which is run by the US. We spoke about the minor signage issue I had and then I spoke to her about the issue with the VB area — where I stated I doubted ANYONE had a clue what this was about and that training was lacking — promoting something that no one has a clue about. She then said(hold tightly onto your smartphones before you read this …) «What is Unilocal?». I gasped and said«well I see the problem is worse than I thought — when your team is totally unaware of this too».(Unfortunately she marked this second part of my complaint to the first and then the owner in Canada stated that they didn’t participate — but that owner knew Unilocal I found out later). All I have to say is – good luck Unilocalers … Visited July 24⁄2013

If Unilocal check-ins were around 10 years ago during my college days I’d weigh 300 lbs because of all the free small frosties I would have received. I would also have been the Duke of every Wendy’s in the 757. I was a broke college kid. Their food is cheap… and for fast food, pretty damn good. Now, I leave it to Wendy’s on late drunk nights and on extremely busy days of moving furniture. Today was the latter. When my buddy suggested a frosty I told him about the free frosty for checking in on Unilocal we were there in a heartbeat. Don’t these folks have the patent to the $ 1 menu? I think so. I’m talking like 1995ish. Who gives a bleep of what I have to say now? If you check in on Unilocal you get a free frosty! If you’re reading this and you’re not my friend on Unilocal please friend request me ASAP. Seeing all the Wendy’s check-ins and knowing the satisfaction you’re receiving from a nice cold frosty and brain freezes would make me happy. You’re welcome.

Kinda wondering what’s happening here. I used to live in the neighborhood behind this Wendy’s(Kings Grant) about 6 – 7 years ago and was a fairly frequent customer of the place at the time. Now work has me near here so I figured I’d stop in and try one of the new ‘Dave’ signature burgers. How is this new burger different from the old Wendy’s burger?. Let’s see, patty, exactly the same… Potato bun, exactly he same. Cheese, bacon, and chemically ripened tomato that was still green in the middle. Check, check, check. I can find no difference other than the new upright packaging. Service was sub-par. There was no sense of urgency from any of the staff. It took almost 15 minutes to get my meal with 1 other customer in front of me. Also while the place was well lit and looked clean at first glance it really wasn’t. Tables needed to be wiped down and lots of little pieces of debris were all over the place. Could use some vacuuming for sure.
