Fully stocked Walgreens on the beach. Yep, the have all the personal care, first aid, greeting cards and such that you would see at any other Walgreens. And they also have a good selection of postcards, tshirts, towels and beach goodies including sunscreen. Because how many times do you go to the beach and forget the sunscreen? They have it here. I don’t know how long they’ve been here, but it still has that new Walgreens look and feel.

Came into this Walgreens two Fridays ago as we had run out of sunscreen and the two other places I had been two prior either were out for the season or they only had stuff up to SPF30 which to me is like saying why not use Crisco? Because it was early morning and in mid-September parking was a breeze although I can imagine how in season this place would be best attempted by car only right when they open or not at all(i.e. just walk in from your hotel if you’re close enough). There were two sections of sunscreen in the store which made it a bit more confusing especially when I asked the woman at the register if they had any more other than the display right when you walk in(again only up to SPF30) and she motioned her hand in the direction of «back there» while telling me that they had more«somewhere back there». Alrighty then, I guess I’ll figure it out myself. Eventually found what I needed but cost wise naturally it was a good 20% more than what I would have paid at a Walgreens in PA. This isn’t the greatest of drug stores or Walgreens but if your hotel is in the area it’s what you got so you might as well give it a shot. (On a sidebar, Unilocal lists this place as being open 24 hours and maybe in season they are but right now they very much are not. The store is open from 8am-10pm with the pharmacy closing at 6pm except for Sunday when it’s closed all day. If you need a 24 hour Walgreens there are several in VA Beach just not this one.)

It’s your typical Walgreens, except it’s at the beach. They’re in a very convenient location, and they had what I needed.

They were totally great. They keep it stocked with supplies. I left my shaver home… A nice lady was there to help immed. What I totally liked about this place is the service. They were very attentive to the point where Im like are you profiling me… but now they werent as each time I entered all the employees cared about what i wanted and offered suggestions. One lady stopped doing what she was doing and opened the side register for me. I’m glad the hotel was right outside this place so that I could at least right a review.

The only problem I have with this Walgreens is that the pharmacy closes early. Hubby and I stopped in at 6:45 on a Tuesday and we weren’t able to pick up Claritin-D which my husband needed badly. We talked with a represntative in the store and was told that since they didn’t get a lot of business after 6 they shut the pharamacy down. So any type of medication that requires the pharmacy to be open do not stop here after 6. Not sure what time on the weekend. Other than not being able to get the medication I wanted this store seemed to have anything you would need.

Walgreens… the Starbucks of pharmacies. Located right on the boardwalk in Virginia Beach. If you’ve had a boo boo or need your fix of antibiotics, here is your place! They are fully stocked and what looks to be newly renovated. Take a look and see for yourself! Very clean. The sales people don’t seem to be as knowledgeable about what they have in stock so I dinged them a star, but for convenience sake on the beach, they get 4. Parking is hard to find so it is unlikely you’ll come here unless you’re in the hotels or already walking on the boardwalk

A lot of the shops along Atlantic Avenue and the strip tend to close around midnight. Although the Sunsations stores are ubiquitous, if you’re looking for later night basic shopping, this is a 24 hour Walgreens. There’s not really anything special about this location, sort of the point of a chain store I suppose. Of note, the pharmacy isn’t open 24 hours(weekday 10 pm close?) at this store.
