This place kicks ass. Love the cheesy scrambled eggs with raisin toast. My husband loves the pecan waffles. Where else can you get eggs, waffle, choice of meat, grits or hash browns for 7 bucks. The coffee is good too. All fresh made right in front of you. The only problem it it’s a small place so you may have to wait.

I should probably just give up on the Waffle Houses here in VA. I placed my order over the phone for pick up before heading to work. Well, when I get there, there was this commotion/mixup of someone paying for my order instead of their own because we essentially ordered the same thing(All Star Breakfast) but I had cheese on my eggs and SUPPOSEDLY chocolate chip waffles, which yielded a different price than what the other customer usually pays. So we stand there for about 5 more minutes to get things figured out and one of the cashiers stated I owed the other customer 1.47 because for some odd reason she thought it would be logical for me to pay her ticket since she paid mine and then give her the remaining balance after I told her I didn’t have cash. What??? Anyway, another cashier had to step in(thank god) and take care of it by just charging me the extra 1.47 and putting the extra money on the other customer’s card. So afterwards I zip-lined out of there because I had to go to work. I get to work and notice, low and behold, there’s no chocolate chips on my waffle. I should’ve checked before leaving, especially with all the extra commotion. It would be different if I didn’t pay extra and they messed up the order, I would’ve just carried on about my business but… I did. Things happen, cool, but I was already irritated after leaving there. And what IS it with WH and not wanting to put chocolate chips on waffles? Lol. This is the second time this has happened and officially the last. The rest of the food was fine and kudos to the second cashier stepping in. 3 stars for that.

Was my first and last time the most disgusting food I’ve ever eaten in my life. When my husband asked if I was talking it home my reply was I would not feed this to my dog!!! I gave it one star because it won’t let you give no stars.

I have always loved the waffles here! No matter what time of the day. If you can figure out how to order your hash browns, you can almost make a meal out of them! Not a bad deal for the money, service is good and normally your order will be right out. Be prepared to wait if it gets crowded. Good place for late nights or early mornings. A divey place but I have rarely been disappointed.

Very friendly staff, they were helpful and attentive on a Friday afternoon. Hashbrowns are awesome! Service was quick and easy. This is a great place to go for a weekend breakfast if you are hung over or just want some greasy salty breakfast.

When hubs and I walked into this locations yesterday, there was a long line of people waiting to be seated. We were worried that we would be waiting for a while(we were starving!), but to our surprise, the people in front of us were seated in a matter of moments. The waitstaff had a really nice system of directing the queue of people. Someone would take orders from people while they waited and gave them a ticket, which the people in turn would give their servers once they sat down. What a time saver! While I preferred a booth, hubs and I opted to sit at the next available seating, the low bar. It wasn’t too bad… I just have this thing about sitting and eating next to complete strangers. Hubs ordered the steak & eggs breakfast and I ordered a pecan waffle with an order of smothered, covered & capped hash browns(you can’t go to Waffle House without ordering hash browns!). We made several attempts to get our server’s attention to give us some creamer for our coffee. She was a little busy arguing with her co-workers as to who worked in which station. Hmm… Despite that hiccup, breakfast was delicious! I have never had the pecan waffle there before and it will now be my WH staple. And of course, you can’t go wrong with hash browns. Hubs ate every last bit of his breakfast, so I’d say that he enjoyed it.

I came to this restaurant today because its affordable and yummy, especially when you with kids, but the most amazing thing happened when we went to leave, the waiter told us our bill has been paid for ! The people that paid already left! What a great experience!

The waitstaff was arguing who would take our order, the order was all messed up, asked for grilled onions, the onions were raw, we wanted chili on our hash browns, had to send it for chili and now you know the rest of the story. Judy was very nice. Store 902.

I’ve come to this Waffle House quite a few times for breakfast. I love their coffee and their waffles! I haven’t had a bad meal here yet. Service is excellent, even on a busy morning they are always so attentive. This is my go to place for breakfast!

Staying across the street at Founders Inn and came here for lunch for breakfast food. Renita was the best, so friendly, so accommodating. Loved my pecan, strawberry, blueberry waffle. Brother, husband, dad enjoyed their hash browns, grits, steak and eggs. Food was good and service was excellent. Yay! Good choice for us.

Big sign out front that says«No firearms». So I didn’t even bother to go inside. I went elsewhere. Technically, that sign carries no force of law but I figure that if they don’t want my legally concealed firearm then they don’t want my legally concealed wallet.

Waffle House gets quite a bit of flack, but it serves up a pretty tasty breakfast. I have been to this location a couple of times and both times the breakfast was hot and yummy. I will say the restaurant is pretty dirty, especially near the grill(it’s an open kitchen) and the décor is old school(I have talked to people who complained about the 70s feel). If you need a quick breakfast it’s a decent choice.

I consider this in the highest respect: Waffle House is the White Castle of Breakfast. .. awesome food — cheap prices — all made to what you want NOT what some corporate mook thinks you want — you want 2 eggs — ok, 3 eggs — sure, 6 eggs — you betchya. ..

I think the phrase«DIRTYSOUTH» was coined here. The general upkeep of the place really challenged by hungry appetite. I almost didn’t want to eat. That almost never happens. Ask anyone. This place is a shack that should be at least 30% bigger inside with the amount of people that work there and people that eat there. The tables are small and there is no room to move around. I could have made those same waffles at the Marriott at their free breakfast buffet. Everything else on the menu is typical diner food, except prepared in a rush and falling apart by the time it makes it to your table. With this being a restaurant chain, I honestly expected more.

For all of you not lucky enough to have a Wafflehouse, welcome to the South. The Wafflehouse is a staple of southern culture. Their tiny yet distinct buildings remind you of a backwoods shack where the smell of bacon and syrup is the only draw. I admit, at first I was a little scared to sit down at Wafflehouse. The lighting is dim, the floors are dingy and some of the staff look like they previously held starring roles on America’s Most Wanted, but just the smell alone made me stay and give it a chance. I love breakfast food, so anywhere that serves my favorite meal 24 hours a day is the right place for me. The waffles are superb, the hashbrowns come as loaded as you want, the bacon is always frying and the coffee is always hot. Every Wafflehouse I’m sure has its own stock of sweet and witty waitresses, always quick with a joke and will remember you for the rest of your life.

For my first experience at a Waffle House, it was decent to say the least. Me and a couple of friends decided to check out the Waffle House, which was a couple of minutes away from the beach. When we got there(which was in the early afternoon), it was hardly anybody there. I don’t know whether that was a good thing or a bad thing. I ordered a regular waffle and The Texas Cheesesteak Melt. The waffle was very good, and the melt was also good as well. The waffle was so much that I couldn’t eat the rest of the cheesesteak melt. The food get a plus in my book. Now, for the negatives. The first negative was the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. I think me and the flies were competing to see who can eat my food first. The flies did not triumph successfully. Another negative was unfortunately the waiter we had. The waiter was nice, but I think he had a time trying to remember what our group asked for along with multitasking. Overall, the first Waffle House was decent, nothing special. I hope other Waffle Houses are more properly maintained than this location, but the quality of the food stays the same.

All night diner food. Well, maybe not quite up to diner quality. And yes I said — to low to consider as the quality of a diner. The food here is warm — I give it that. I have never had a decent waffle at the waffle house. I have had some tasty eggs however. And the coffee is at least hot. You can’t really say much more for it than that. And they are open late — that’s why they get 3 stars. They are open pretty much indefinitely. And the grits are inedible. But then again — their grits.

My friend and I thought we would like to order a waffle to go to eat on the way to the airport on the shuttle bus. We hardly ever have time for a hot meal, so we thought we would take this opportunity to try. We arrived at the Waffle House at 5:15AM. There were a couple of other tables, but 4 people working behind the counter. The first question we asked was how long it would take to get waffles to go. They told us 10 minutes. Sounded good to us since we had 45 minutes to get back across the street to the Founders Inn. We ordered a waffle each with pecans, and I wanted strawberries added to mine. My friend also wanted 2 scrambled eggs. I also wanted a milk. The waitress didn’t know the sizes, so she just brought a cup to show me. We just chit chatted and waited. Our waitress must have been new. She was very soft spoken and didn’t seem to know where most anything was, or the descriptions of things. What surprised me was that no one seemed willing to help her even though there were plenty of people that could have. During the time we were starting to get stressed about the time, a guy who was«under the influence» was trying to get us to pick out songs for the jukebox. We had asked a couple of times how much longer, and she wasn’t sure. After the second time we finally saw them STARTING the food. That was about 25 minutes after we got there. When we finally got the food, I had no strawberries, butter, or maple syrup. Just a dry waffle. My friend had the same, and she ended up with a full egg breakfast, which she didn’t want, and they still charged her for it. It took them 5 minutes to find syrup in a waffle house! When I asked about the berries, she was going to have to call a manager to take them off. I just paid for them anyway since I only had 10 minutes to catch the van. The food was very mehhh. I don’t know if I would go back unless I had a good 2 hours to spend there. Overall it took 35 minutes from the time we ordered to get our check, to go.
