Sad to say, Summer’s Past closed last night. The owners decided to call it quits after a number of years there and said that they were tired. It was sad to see the regulars taking their last drinks at the bar, commiserating with each other and sharing drunk, crying hugs with each other. From what I gathered, the place is being looked at by a few prospective buyers, so there is a chance of its doors opening again in the near future.
First Magnolia’s in Ghent last year and now Summer’s Past– time to find a new watering hole. I’ll spill a swig to both places.
