This place is excellent, the hotel is on a beautiful property seaside in beautiful Virginia beach, the rooms are fantastic, and the price, you can’t beat it anywhere!

I found this room on and paid $ 170.00 for one night in there Deluxe Suite. To be honest I was disappointed. The beds & bathroom were clean but the pullout couch was riddled with stains & we didn’t have proper bedding. The staff was super nice and got us bedding right away. The air conditioner was super super loud so we just left it off and the walls of our room were riddled with dents and dings. Our refrigerator was clean and so was the inside of the microwave but the outside of the microwave had some kind of dried up sauce all over it. Though I feel I paid to much it was cool for a one night stop I also wish they could do more about the parking situation.

Beware of this overpriced dump. I found this place through Travelocity and my parents booked a room for the weekend. The room reeked, the refrigerator didn’t work and the guts of the smoke detector were gone. On top of all of this, there were shady folks next door that my mom swears were probably crack heads. It was the most disgusting room they have ever stayed in. Never, ever, ever, ever again. Almost $ 300 a night(price was jacked up for an «event» weekend) for this dump, simply unheard of.

If you are looking for a cheap room, close to the beach, and not much else — this is the place for you. I booked two rooms here for a bachelor party in August 2014. One«deluxe suite» and one regular room. I believe the motel recently renovated all the rooms. Both rooms were clean when we got there, except the couch in the suite had some one else’s hair all over it. I asked for both non-smoking and both kind of smelled like smoke, but we bought some febreeze and got used to it. I’m sure if we asked to get switched they would have let us, but we wanted rooms next to each other. Management was nice, cleaning staff was a little short with us. Bathrooms were very clean, but towels were a little rough to the touch. The wifi was a little slow, but it was free. The TV only had 5 channels that got reception, but why watch TV when you are by the beach? I’ve stayed at a number of low-cost, low-budget hotels and motels and this was everything I had come to expect. Not much else but a room with a clean bed and a clean bathroom. They didn’t have bugs and pretty much what I’ve come to expect from $ 60 a night joints — cheap price, medium quality.

True story. Two years ago I went on a road trip to, «Anytown USA» with no real destination in mind. Somehow Virginia Beach ended up being a stopping place and I would not recommend this place that God forgot to anyone. This was long before Unilocal was even on my radar, but the Sandpiper Inn was such a disgusting dive that I researched how I could best write a bad review about it on yahoo. I was, and still am, that concerned unsuspecting families do not end up in this den of filth and debauchery. Virginia Beach is overpriced. There is not much to do and motels are costly. This is why I paid 60 dollars a night to stay here, it was the cheapest I could find and needed a break from driving. Maybe you need reservations in Virginia Beach if you do not want to catch unidentified diseases. My room smelled like smoke, cheap bourbon, and latex. Someone was shooting up in the room next to me. This wouldn’t have been an issue expect that my backdoor was stuck open half way. Love the security. The bed was covered in plastic. I presume this is in case anybody urinates themselves, they still do not have to change the sheets. Three cockroaches were hanging out in the bathroom. We decided to spend as much time out as possible, so as to avoid our little love nest. However it turns out Virginia Beach ain’t too great on a whole, and we ended up taking a cab back, hoping to go to sleep(on top of the bed, we were not climbing in those sheets) and forget the whole place existed. Upon dropping us off the cab driver said to us, «You are staying here? Good luck!» Then we tried to watch some TV before going to bed, but the TV would only play porn. If this is your thing, by all means hit up the Sandpiper Inn. But it is not the family friendly getaway spot it claims to be. Unless you happen to be a family of cockroaches. Oh yeah, I did find half a bottle of peppermint schnapps under my bed… that was pretty cool.
