Sal’s Ny Pizza

Being so close to my house I’ve given Sal’s more chances than I probably should have. I’ve ordered from here a few times in the past couple of years and I’ve never been overly impressed. Isn’t there a saying about any pizza is good pizza… well not here anymore and I’m someone who doesn’t mind Little Caesars.
I’ve only had the cheesy garlic knots, fried ravioli, & pizza. For some reason they never bake the pizza long enough. The cheese is barely melted & the sauce just lacks flavor. I ordered a pizza from here the other night and it was particularly bad. We had to re-​bake it in the oven when we got home and it just tasted off. We had a ton of leftovers because we were done after a slice.
The place appears to always be slammed with takeout orders, so some people obviously like them. I’m just not one of them.

Our go to place for pizza and calzone! By far the best pizza in the shore drive/​northern va beach area.

Decent Stromboli. Good NY style pizza. Have ordered twice now from them and have enjoyed the food and delivery times.
Oh and ordering on Unilocal is handy.

I would give more stars for the pizza but unfortunately the service was so atrocious I can’t. Ordered delivery at 6:05 and was told it would be 45 minutes to an hour. I called about 1 hour and 20 minutes later, told it would be here in 5 minutes. 25 minutes later I called again and then the pizza finally arrived; cold as ice. Delivery driver said «sorry, there’s nothing I can do» they did offer to make me a new pizza and send it back out but that would have been another 45 minutes. Too bad I like this pizza but won’t be ordering again. I just spent 20 on cold soggy pizza and warm salad.

Great delivery service. Came earlier than the email confirmation stated.
My stromboli was good, I didn’t get a chance to try the bacon/​cheese fries thanks to a starving 15 year old.
Thus far, no complaints.

From out of town and needed something quick so I read reviews and decided to order, ordered a medium pizza with 5 toppings and an antipasta salad! Was told a 25 min wait! Walked in and noticed that the overall Place could use some cleaning up epically where the food is made! Got back and the pizza was very good and the salad was very big and lots of toppings! Overall I would have given the place a 4 but could just use some cleaning up!

Just ordered a cheesesteak & breaded mushrooms. Food arrived fast the cheesesteak was off the hook! Added raw onion lettuce & tomatoes, soo yummy! The mushrooms arrived still crispy they must be made fresh. I don’t eat food like this very often so I’m happy it was right. Hubby ordered veal parm sub and he enjoyed his as well.

My husband and I had the steak family roll and the breaded mushrooms. The steak roll was delicious! The breaded mushrooms were ok. Both came with pizza sauce that was good, wish it was thicker. We would definitely order again!

To all who love AUTHENTIC Italian cuisine… then you will LOVE SAL’S!!! I moved back over to the Lake Shores area back in Sept and have tried many items on their menu… LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM.
I ordered the Bianca Deluxe today, along with anti pasta salad and chicken fingers… ALL WAS OUTSTANDING. The BEST BIANCA pizza I have ever had! The chicken fingers were juicy and tender and the salad was loaded with meats and cheeses!
You must try Sal’s — YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

Very Disappointed in this pizza after reading great reviews. I love pizza crust and this was by far the worst I’ve ever had. I won’t be ordering from here ever again.

Pizza is better hot out the oven, but still great to take home. Decent prices with coupons. Management seem a little brash and dining in its kind of awkward. Waitress is normally the girl answering the phone.

Awesome pizza. The wings were good. The garlic knots were really drive. The service was a bit slow, but it was a Saturday night and they were slammed with orders.

OH HELL YEAH! Finally some delicious NY style pizza in the area.

FYI.Was told by the counter girl that the other locations are not run by the same people… sooooo… if you want a little slice of pepperoni heaven…
run, stuff your face, and crawl home after eating more than your share. Slurp!

Was pretty leery about this place due to some other reviews regarding their attitude, customer service etc. Dude the pizza speaks for itself. They were upfront that it would be 60 – 75 min for delivery (I’m right down the street), but damn if I don’t agree with everyone that the pizza is some of the best in the area. I’ll keep giving them a shot and re-​visit it if I hit any speed bumps, but for now this is my go to spot for a pie.

First two times I ordered delivery in one week, there were no issues. I ordered again today for delivery, and Sal’s NY Pizza calls me and declares that my location (which is the same place I ordered delivery twice before) is too far out of their range for delivery. I just think the owner/​workers are too lazy to deliver. If the address I entered in your online ordering system is out of your range, don’t allow the online order to process. I recommend you pass on this location and try elsewhere, they obviously don’t care about repeat customers.
I would give them 0 stars if I could. DO NOT EAT AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT!

Best NY style cheese pizza bar none!
Tiramisu is prepackaged however still pretty tasty.
Friendly staff and clean but small dinning in.
Fried ravioli is yummy & the baked ziti is very good as well.
My favorite pizza no doubt!

I wish there was a way to give 0 stars… RUDE staff, like to hang up on people and takes them 2 hours to deliver 1 darn pizza!!! NEVER again… Good luck with these people!

I want to like Sal’s. I really do. I have ordered from them maybe a half-​dozen times over the last six months, and tonight’s experience is the last time.
On the second or third time we used them, I ordered a salad with our pizza. My wife was standing next to me and heard me state the whole order. When we went to pick up our order, they stated that we had not ordered a salad, and actually maintained that we had not after we insisted that we had. They weren’t rude, just simply telling us that we had not done something we knew we had done.
This time around, I was standing next to my wife when she called our order in (again, with a side salad). She even went so far as to stress the salad (and their previous lapse). When my wife arrived for pick up, not only was there no salad; the entire order was not in their system.
Alone, Sal’s pizza rates two and half to maybe three stars. But I’m reviewing the entire experience, not just the pizza. In a city that lacks good pizza, you’d think that pizza shops would strive for your business in the customer service department. Sal’s does not deliver.

I visited this place close to my home for the first time. I know they have been in business for a few years, but I have not had a strong urge to try. My review would be different if it was a take out, or delivery. However, I did eat in and experienced the restaurant itself. Since there are not categories in this format I can only tell you the cleanliness of the place is NOT GOOD! It is downright filthy in the kitchen area which is wide open for customers to see if you walk to the end of the counter. I was pretty darn shocked that this has not been an issue with the health dept. Also, it was uncomfortable as the A/​C appeared to not be working. If I had to guess it was 80 – 82 degrees. The service was okay, not great. The only redeeming thing about the place was that the pizza was very good and I did enjoy it. There was also glass every where just outside the restaurant and it looked like a car had been broke into. I will not be back.

Keeping this review short and sweet. I came in for lunch today with a very old friend and ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sub. It was delicious, large in size and well worth the price we paid for the meals. Our waitress was friendly and made sure that our waters remained full. Lots of old timers were hanging out there which tells me this place caters to the neighborhood. Not a place for big groups as there are only 5 – 6 tables inside.
