We are a full service companion small animal pet veterinarian hospital. Our veterinary services and vet facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for pets at all stages of life, early detection and treatment of diseases as your pet ages with complete medical and surgical care during their lifetime. Our entire veterinarian healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet owner as well as to the needs of each individual pet. We treat your pet as we would our own. Our facilities include in house and send out veterinary laboratories, small animal surgery, full pet dental care, ultrasound diagnostics, preventative and treatment of veterinary medicine, pet pharmacy including full range of pet foods, heartworm control, flea-​tick control, ResQ microchip pet ID and client education.

We just moved to the area and found this place based on Unilocal reviews. Even though it was our first time and we knew we probably wouldn’t be coming back with our puppers, Dr Hauer still treated our dog with love and respect as if she’d been his vet all his life. Despite the fact there was nothing they could do, they presented options which would be best for him and us. Once the decision was made they allowed us to say our goodbyes and took care of the rest. The whole staff there was very kind and consoling during this ruff patch. When the time comes for us to get another dog, this will be the vet we come to.

First visit with our greyhound as we just moved here. They were recommended to us by greyt expectations as finding a greyhound savvy vet is important. Very clean facility and the staff was very nice.

I’ve taken my pup there a few times. We live around the corner so it is very convenient. The staff is super sweet and helpful. The doctor that we’ve seen is very knowledgeable and competent. I brought my dog in after she had her hot spots treated at the other clinic. The doctor checked every spot of my dog explained the causes for hot spots and told me my puppy was healing well. What I really liked is that she wasn’t wearing gloves and she was scratching and peeling off some hair that got stuck on the shaved areas of the hot spot and was peeling off the scabs on my dog which made my pup so happy. I didn’t remember her name but she is very good with animals and she will tell you how it is.
They are a bit pricey, I do have to say that… But other than that, when you take your pet there you know they will take a good care of them.

Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital is one of the best vets I have ever used. The facility is beautiful and the office staff is always exceptionally kind and helpful. Dr. Hauer has gone above and beyond to not only care for the physical health of my 3 dogs, but also to help manage their behavioral and psychological health. Dr. Kier has also seen each of my pups on the occasion Dr. Hauer is not available and he is just as knowledgable and kind to the animals as Dr. Hauer. My lab has major anxiety issues – including a fear of adult men – and she even warms up to Dr. Kier relatively quickly. Their services are a bit pricey, but the experience is well worth a few extra dollars. I am very thankful to have found such a wonderful veterinary hospital!

Amazing, compassionate, exceptionally competent animal care professionals. I can’t say enough about Dr. Kier, my terrier mix was whimpering and was avoiding being touched. Dr. Kier had him literally going full speed again within 24 hours. I can’t think of bringing my dogs to any other vet, he is so thorough, caring and takes time to explain both the big and little things you need to know for the long-​term benefit of your pets. Every trip there is a pleasure, dogs that nip at groomers behave in the hands of Dr. Kier and staff when giving shots and taking blood, absolutely amazing!
Smh at some people here complaining about the price. Every vet sets their own standards, their facilities, equipment, training and procedures. PAV is up front about everything, they don’t hide their prices and anyone complaining about a surprise vet bill only has themselves to blame. They do cost a little more, but they are hardly outrageous. A few extra dollars is most definitely worth giving your family member in fur the best care possible, vets that take their time and know what they are doing. Honestly I’m very skeptical of cheaper vets, it’s just not possible to charge a «bargain» and give quality care. If you’re a responsible pet owner who understands the obligations and costs of keeping you pet healthy and want a vet who truly cares and will make the process as easy as possible, this is where you should come, period.

We’ve been taking our cats to PAVH for years now and see both Dr. Hauer and Dr. Kier and have nothing but the highest regars for both. When one of the cats has been sick, they always suggest starting off with the most conservative treatment to see if that works before moving to more extensive (and more costly) tests/​treatment. No it is not cheap to take care of your pet, but we feel providing good care is part of the responsible pet owner package. Because we are able to get them better care (and keep them in the house) they live longer and have a great quality of life. Since we’ve been using this veterinary office for so long, I can’t comment if the prices are more or less than other local vets. I do know at the time we started going there, the prices were comparable with what we had been paying. Dr. Hauer and Dr. Kier are both excellent in communicating medical information and providing options –very patient and will answer as many questions as we have. Both doctors — and the entire staff — have been consistently empathetic and sympathetic. I can tell they like cats — some vets don’t. They’ve helped us more than once in emergency situations. Unlike our previous vet, the office and examining rooms are ALWAYS clean and don’t smell like urine. We can’t recommend PAVH highly enough.

I have been taking my animals here since 2002ish. Going to a vet has always been expensive even before we decided to stay with PaVet. They are pricey but you GET what you pay for. Great front desk staff, easy short fuse appt, FANTASTIC Doctor, Love, Love Dr Kier! They are very willing to discuss prices before performing a procedure… just ask. Last year my dogs got into rat poisoning (don’t judge). I called the office, they had us bring all 3 dogs over immediately (even tho is was late on a Saturday). 3 Techs PATIENTLY worked a very long time to get the dogs to vomit up the poison. They let us stay with the animals while they worked with them. I have many, many other stories about our positive interactions with PaVet. I am not one to stay with an establishment if they don’t provide great service and great care. I am willing to pay a bit more knowing I am getting the Best!

The staff here is amazing! Very kind, helpful and friendly! Upon walking in they greeted us and my puppy in a friendly manner and we got checked in. The tech in the room was so nice and friendly– you could tell she really cared about animals and loved her job. She listened to everything we had to say and was very informative. Great customer service skills as well as just an over all nice person. The vet was great as well! She had so much helpful information about our puppy and explained in a manner we could understand instead of just being technical. She too was very friendly and was great with our puppy. She was patient while I asked a lot of questions and had answers for all. We have found our vet! I recommend them to everyone in the area!

We found Princess Anne Veterinary Hospital because we were fostering two boxers while my college roommate was stationed in Japan. We decided that maintaining continuity of care was important. We were using a different vet, and the first appointment one of the boxers had at Princess Anne, and I called my wife on the way home and said «I think we found our vet.»
Yes. They’re more expensive than other options in the area. No, Dr. Hauer is not Psycho. Our primary vet is Dr. Kier, but we have seen Dr. Hauer in the past.
If you want simply the best care you can get for your pets (and I mean, they treat your pets as if they were there own), then you should come here. Honestly, we spend a small fortune here, and we don’t regret it. The bedside manner of the vets, and their desire to explain why they’re doing something/​recommend a procedure is better than any vet I’ve found in the area.
If you view your pets as members of the family, bring them here. Period.
Why four stars vs. five? Yes, they are are tad pricey. That’s the only reason why.
