Patient First

Had my blood taken and was never told why.
Doctor spoke 10 words to me total and he came off as creepy and distant. Was later told by multiple staff members on the phone that they have only worked with him once or twice and when I said he came across as weird, the response I got was «…those are your words, not mine.» So apparently I’m not the only one who feels that way.
My car was broken into and the response was «Yeah, it happens all the time… but only people who leave their car doors unlocked. I keep my car right under the camera for that reason.» My car door was not unlocked and I don’t appreciate the victim blaming. This might be worth telling people BEFORE THEY CHECK IN, not after they get robbed. If this was being reported to the police every time then maybe a police officer might hang around at night occasionally. They sit in 711 and Wawa parking lots just waiting for a call, they could do that for you all. When I called the next day I was told ‘Yeah, we are all discussing how we really need to get security.“
The hour I laid there waiting for a doctor, the curtain was left open so I got to stare at the nurses station and listen to their inappropriate bitching in earshot of a patient.
Was prescribed predisone despite this being a conflicting issue with my Crohn’s treatments.
Doctor looked at my ears, my throat, told me I had bronchitis and walked away. Came back with medicine later and that was it.
This isn’t your fault but my insurance said I’d be charged like you all were my PCP but had to pay $ 50. Based on that figure and the service I received, I would have just waited to see a doctor the next day.
My roommate came to the same facility the next morning, was diagnosed with pneumonia and was given a decongestant and a zpak, which were never mentioned as options, and was told not to go to work until Friday. I was never instructed on where, who, or what I should be around.
I called the next day to inquire about getting myself a zpak and played phone tag with the nurses until enough vocal annoyance on my end got her to speak with the doctor. I was told I’d be called back, as soon as possible. I called back 3 and a half hours later, the person who answered the phone was rude and transferred me mid-​sentence, and after a long hold I get a nurse. I am told that they usually don’t get back to until 24 hours. This is unacceptable, I was lied to and I know the doctor is ten feet away. It’s a 2 minute question. I get you all are busy, shockingly most people’s jobs are, but every single interaction I had either minor or major issues. I was finally told to not take the predisone (so happy I paid for it when I don’t need it and had a bottle at home) and that they would send a zpak script in to my pharmacy. Because it was later in the evening and my pharmacy closed at 9, she said she’d send the order in right there. 20 or so minutes later I get to the Rite-​Aid and they have no idea what I’m talking about. I call back, rude receptionist, finally get to same nurse and she says she sent it in but she can call and have them put it in immediately. If she could do that, why not do that the first time? I finally got the medicine, got home, and had officially spent 24 hours on trying to get proper medical care for myself. Which I didn’t have the mental or physical energy to be doing. I left a Sentara urgent care to come to you all due to the poor service they presented just walking in the door and their 3 hours wait… had I known I would have stayed there and dealt with the lesser of two evils. It’s clear you have some sort of management issues based on overhearing the nurses, things the receptionist cut herself off from saying more than once, and the way the car break-​in situation. This is the worst experience I’ve had with any medical ‘professionals’ and I’ve been given an unneeded spinal tap before. If this was any other business, I would have demanded my money back or had it offered. I will never recommend this facility to anyone.

A sinus infection threatened to derail a fun road trip, but a quick stop at this place (literally in and out in 30 minutes total) got us back on the right path. I was checked in quickly, triaged immediately and examined thoroughly, plus they saved me a trip and wait at a pharmacy by dispensing medication on the spot. I’d definitely go back here!

Horrible! Rude staff! Dont waste your time. Just go to the ER. That’s all they want you to do anyway. Charge you $ 50.00 and tell you to go to the ER. Waste of time and a complete joke!

I hope you don’t actually have an emergency because they’re never going to get around to seeing you.
I’ve been here almost two hours and not one person has come to check on me. I’ve been coughing so hard I’ve almost passed out and yet I’ve got to watch every person who’s come in after to me get checked before me.
This place may have nice people but the service is terrible and I don’t recommend it at all. Just save yourself so time and energy and go to the emergency room or better yet make a real doctors appointment.

Very quick and efficient. I was checked in, seen by doctor, and given prescription medicine all within 30 minutes. Facility was clean and staff members were all friendly.

Clean, efficient, quick! Went in Saturday morning with flu-​like symptoms. Staff was friendly, explained what they were doing. Blood work was painless. I definitely recommend this location and would go back.

Friendly staff but a bit of a racket. I went for TB skin test and for to titers for vaccinations. All routine things that at most hospitals and outpatient facilities, RNS check. They made me see a physician both times so the visit can be billed for more. If it’s a RN visit, they cannot bill as much to the insurance. I was most shocked to find that the PPD skin test had to also be read by a physician. Again, this is routinely done by an RN. Very unusual procedures that I don’t agree with so I will NOT be returning for this reason. It is good for urgent care but for routine stuff go elsewhere if you can.

This is our go-​to urgent care facility, because it is super clean, and usually pretty quick. I wouldn’t recommend it as your primary care physician, but if you’re like us and have kids that only seem to get sick on a Friday night or Saturday morning when your pediatrician is closed, then this is the place for you.
The sign in section is all done on a touch screen monitor which makes it fast and easy, but just make sure you use the hand sanitizer after touching it. Getting back to see the doctor or PA usually only takes about 20 minutes, but I did have the great pleasure of being stuck in a room for 3 hours. Yes, 3 hours. They forgot about me, and the one doc thought that the other doc had already seen us. I did give them a second chance and returned (call me crazy), and we were in and out in just under an hour.

Quick, staff was smiling and friendly. Very good Treat-​em & Street-​em. 30 min. after I walked in the door I’d had an x-​ray, was just waiting for the Dr. 20 min. later I was out the door with a splint on my hand. They are organized and clean. I’d had a similar experience there before. They do ask for a payment/​co-​payment before you’re seen. The parking lot is small.

Too bad there’s no zero star rating.
My family took my son here and, after being seen, we were sent on our way with no diagnosis or direction about what medicine might help my son. He had to suffer another day before his pediatrician appointment where he was prescribed antibiotics.
Then Patient First had the audacity to bill me for their lack of service. I disputed the bill and after their ‘review process’ they decided the bill was justified.
Don’t come to this location if you actually want healthcare because you won’t get it. All they want is your money and don’t care about the patient. They should be called Patient Last.

The Bureaucratic Beast known as HIPPA prevents me from fully disclosing the specific malaise afflicting the guests of this establishment. In the interest of not getting sued, all guests will herein be known as Alice.
I’ve been here a couple of times. Each time, there were multiple Alices in the waiting area… but none of them had to wait a long time to see a physician. One time I waited for Alices to leave, each seemed ambulatory upon exit.
In that sense, it seems that the trip fulfilled its intended purpose.
News flash: People like to bitch about health care. To the extent that the only solution would seem to be a personal Mary Poppins for each patient, complete with magic wand and a Spoon Full of Sugar. (because it seems the right place, supercalifragilisticexpealidosious).
For my money (which is exactly $ 12 per visit), there is no better bargain in the Health Care Racket. In fact, if I had one wish, it would be to bring the Great Unwashed Masses to this place and let them see it in operation. The Raging Debate about National Health Care and Canadian Death Squads would instantly cease (causing several cable ‘news’ outlets to vanish from the face of the earth. Does that mean my cable bill goes down?).
Is it fancy? No. In fact, upon one visit, I’m pretty sure that one of the Alice’s was given a prescription of Aspirin, take a lap, and rub some dirt on it. And it probably worked.
And Alice was seen leaving the building, completely ambulatory and cured… and bitching.

I used patient first as my PCP because of convenience but they have pissed me off for the final time. Twice I have been there for a particular lab test and twice when I call for my results they didn’t do the lab test! On both occasions I requested refills on my asthma inhalers and twice they gave me refills and didn’t even listen to my lungs! Its absolutely elementary to assess. Staff is rude and condescending. All I can say is don’t get what you pay for here. What a rip off! I will never go back again!

Staff refuse to give you an estimate, or price range. And demand everything be paid up front. Parking is absolutely Anus-​Horrorbills Waste of time.

OK, I won’t say I am a fan, but I was glad to find these folks this year for sure. Considering I feel like I have been there enough this year to deserve a chair with my name on it in the waiting area, I feel justified in firing out a compliment to these hard working folks that have to deal with us on what is normally a poop-​tastic day already.
They have a working system of triage that gets you signed in and into a room in pretty short order. Depending on the flavor of the day, we have seen some wait times, but still WAY more reasonable than any ER I have been too. They have X-​rays, basic bloodwork, onsite dispensary, and plenty of kind professional staff (I think my daughter gets sick just to go see one MA in particular, I think his name is AJ) that move you through the paces as quickly as they can.
I won’t say visit for fun, but if you’re sick and it’s after normal doctors hours (they are open until 10pm most nights) I would say do yourself a favor and let these fine folks help you out.

I stopped in this Patient First to have them read a TB shot I had done. The women at the check-​in counter was VERY rude to me, I asked a few simple questions and she did’nt seem to appreciate that. Then I paid $ 178 just to a Dr. to tell me I don’t have TB. When I asked the billing lady a question about that she too got VERYrude. So I give 1 star because thier service ruined my experience and cost me. Don’t go to this PF, try one in a nicer area.

Last night I took my son here to get a sports physical. The service was pleasant and we were in and out in less than hour, which is not typical for Patient First but definitely a welcome surprise. :)
Every time I’ve been here they have always treated me well and I have usually gotten what I need.

No one ever wants to go to an urgent care clinic, but sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do. I suddenly found myself there on a Thursday after work. I hadn’t been to a clinic since I was a little kid, but I remember the hours of agony involved in waiting all day to see a cranky doctor, so I was dreading it. Actually, Patient First was a pretty pleasant experience!
We probably only waited 15 – 20 minutes before I got called back, and that includes all the receptionist and billing stuff we had to do first. I would say that getting in, getting some tests done, talking to the doctor and leaving with a prescription took somewhere between 1hr to 1:15. I went after work on a Friday and came home early enough to feebly, miserably push a vacuum around in preparation for some houseguests. And considering that the other option I was looking at was the emergency room, I thought that the bill was very reasonable.
Again, not my favorite way to spend a Friday night, but given the situation, I thought Patient First did a great job, and I’d use them again for a minor health emergency.
