When I came in I wasn’t greeted. The lady behind the counter was preoccupied in another conversation. I came and went and she took no notice-Will not be going back.

I’ve been coming here since my kids were little and we were looking into homeschooling. The owners are family and the ladies working the front don’t change very often so they get to know you. The store is large for a homeschool store. They offer a lot of different curriculum, but since it was based on used/trade in you can’t always find exactly what you want. And they mostly carry Christian items. Nothing wrong with that, but if you ask about non Christian items they usually try to show you the Christian stuff and tell you how great it is. As a homeschooler, I want to use good materials, but in some areas I don’t need the Christian publisher and I think to be a good store you need to offer all kinds of materials, not just the ones you would use. They will do some special orders for you, but price wise you can do that yourself. It’s nice to support the local store though if they have what I need. Which they did the other day. They do have an online store, but I can’t search anything on it well. I know they carry a product but search won’t pull it up. But if I go to the store, it’s on the shelf. Frustrating. When you sell books to them you get store credit only. I have gotten some good credit, and I have had some I said no to b/c it’s just too low. It’s nice to sell mid year, but if the credit is too low I will wait to sell at a convention instead. I also donated items last year that are supposed to go to struggling homeschool families in crisis. I don’t know how they keep those items separate, it’s just trust that they do when you turn them in that way. Obviously if I could create my own homeschool store it would be different. I would offer more items, even if new. Having items in stock is important, so this store is hit or miss unfortunately. And now they are selling stuff on ebay. Like household items, used clothing, etc. So it’s all over the store. I don’t like this change. I can only guess they are struggling and need the money, but it doesn’t make me want to shop there. At this point I have no more store credit, and most likely would shop online first unless I knew they had a used item for a good price. There is a loan section that is open on Wed only. They have lab equipment and such you can loan out. Stuff you couldn’t afford to get for one experiment. We haven’t used this offer, but have walked through and if we ever need to use it, will come here. I like the original owner though and will probably keep coming back :-) It’s a used book(and now ebay) store. Nothing fancy, but if they have what you want, it’s nice to get local and not have to order online!
