History

Established in 1973.

Mr. Hooker obtained his undergraduate degree from Hampden-​Sydney College, followed by his Juris Doctorate at the Marshall School of Law of the College of William and Mary. Graduating in 1973, Mr. Hooker began practice in October of 1973. He has continually practiced actively throughout Virginia Beach and the entire Hampton Roads Region, but has also defended cases in the states of North Carolina, Maryland, South Carolina and Arkansas. Mr. Hooker is a criminal defense lawyer representing clients in both Federal and State courts. In the past thirty-​two (32) years he has represented clients on felony charges ranging from homicide, arson, hostage situations, abduction, malicious wounding, felonious assault, firearms, narcotics (possession, distribution, trafficking), robbery, bank robberies, rape, fraud, larceny, burglary, internet crimes, felony and misdemeanor driving under the influence, etc. In addition to his criminal defense practice, He also represents on personal injury cases.

Meet the Manager

Kimille Johnson.

Manager

Kimille is a 1971 graduate of Granby High School in Norfolk where she was an active member in a number of in-​school and after school activities including Glee Club, chorus, and Job’s Daughters. After high school she trained for a career in the airline industry before marrying and raising a family which includes one daughter, three sons, and fifteen grandchildren.

As an adult, Kimille has performed in a number of Norfolk Little Theater plays including the much heralded production of Carousel. Her love of singing has led her to sing internationally in choral groups, and as the lead vocalist for the Gospel quartet The Miracles. She has modeled women’s contemporary fashions for a high-​end clothing boutique in several local venues.

Kimille, a lifetime resident of Hampton Roads, currently resides in the city of Virginia Beach and is employed as the office administrator for the law firm of John D. Hooker, Jr. and Associates, since February of 2004.
