Hampton Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront North

I love this Hampton Inn!!! Hotel was clean… LOVED the view of the oceanfront. Customer service was superb! I’ll definitely come back here when I visit VA Beach again.

My wife and I swung down to VA beach to surprise my mama for a visit. Well it’s ocean front, it’s clean, staff is helpful, what more can you ask for? My wife was in love with it, partially because the hotel we stayed in right before it in Alexandria kind of sucked, but also because the rooms are cute, and clean with fridge and microwave, the ocean views are dope and there’s everything a vacationer needs within walking distance of this location.
If you can stay here. BOOM.

What a friendly staff! We had to leave a hotel because it was too bad to stay and had to quickly find a place to stay. The Hampton has been awesome! Free breakfast, spacious CLEAN rooms! Highly recommend you lay your head here:)

I rarely write reviews as most places either only meet expectations or fall short without being horrible.
The Hampton Inn Oceanfront was exceptional though and I had to share.
From the moment I checked in with a front desk that was very friendly and helpful to a better than expected room overlooking the ocean my decision to stay here was a good one. This morning, I had one of the best breakfasts ever for any hotel chain save the Ritz or Four Seasons… But this one was included with my room!
Every staff member I have met had been very friendly and I commend the management of this property for a job very well done! I will be back!

This was our first time visit to Virginia Beach and we enjoyed our stay here. The room was nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was centrally located to many restaurants and bars that are within walking distance. We had sandwiches at the hotel restaurant a couple of times and the food was good. The breakfast was not great but it was decent. Ample parking spaces. Wifi worked just fine. We used the indoor pool twice but it was always pretty crowded. It was nice to have hot water or coffee anytime in the kitchen area.

Pros:
Oceanfront. Balcony with two chairs. Great view. Great location. Very nice staff. Great in room huge hot tub. Free parking. Clean room. Decent free wifi
Cons: Poor sleep due to uncomfortable mattress and really bad pillows. Bad. Same mattress brand we had at the Super 8 the night before in MD which was very comfy so maybe this one is older. Woke up sore both mornings. And a little ltchy.
The air conditioner… which worked well… Is literally 2 feet from the head of the bed. Blows directly on the person on that side. Had to move the night table to redirect the air.
Had to keep the patio door shut after sunset so bugs didn’t come to the light in the room so couldn’t listen to the ocean all night.
Pricey…$ 250 – 270 a night. For the sleep quality we will look around at other places if we visit again.

Let’s start at the beginning. As I walked into the lobby to Check in I wasn’t greeted instead I was asked «can I help you» that’s not a greeting to me. The tall white man mid 30s seem to be having a bad day as he asked for my last name and credit card to check me in 30 minutes early, which was a plus. (Check in is 4pm) About 45 minutes later I’m back at the lobby because they charged me an extra 45.00 dollars and I didn’t know what it was for or why. The same guy who Checked me in was there with another staff member as I approached the desk I was greeted by the other staff member the man who checked me in looked straight at me and walked to the back. I really hate people that have no customer service experience, so rude ugh. The young man who ended up helping me was very nice and polite and also apologize for his coworker who seem to be a Manager at that. He explained to me that the extra 45 dollars is a holding fee and will be returned to me when I check out. He also let me know that it takes five business days for me to receive the money back. What gets me mad is that when I checked in why wasn’t I informed that they will be charging an extra 45 dollars to my account as a holding fee, instead I had to come back to the lobby and have a different staff member explain it to me. Over all the room was clean, the view was great, when you walk out of the hotel you’re on the beach so that was great. The breakfast was okay the eggs are artificial so they taste funny everything else they had for breakfast was good. The only downfalls of this hotel was that the pool is very small and parking is limited so beware. Even though parking is free it’s best if you arrive at checking which is 4 PM or a little earlier. If not the hotel will make you park across the street which is public parking and you will have to pay 10 dollars a day.

Very clean nice hotel, the staff was super friendly. Matt at the bar was a great bartender. I’ve in that Buisiness for years and was impressed. Olivia the breakfast lady could not do enough for you. Like the location and poll and hot tub open 24 hours. A very pleasant experience. No issues

This hotel is clean and up to date, which is not always the case with beach front hotels. The pool looks like a grotto which is cool and the breakfast was great. We did not try the restaurant so I cant comment on that but I can say that there was not a huge selection on the menu but what was on it looked good. The staff was friendly and helpful. I called ahead and asked for a portable crib to be in my room and it was there just as promised.

Yes that’s right. I descended upon the Hampton Inn Virginia Beach while playing a smartphone based capture the flag game with about 1,000 other nerds. Wanna fight about it?
I was able to get the Hampton via a Hotwire hot rate, but honestly it would have been worth the rack price. I loved that the facility (at least in this lighter time during the offseason) kept the pool open ²⁴⁄₇. Too many hotels close their indoor pools despite their not being guarded anyway. If I want a take a dip, why can’t I? It’s a travesty.
Solid breakfast as you would expect from Hampton.
For an oceanfront hotel, this is extremely well designed. All rooms face the water. So no bait and switch «Oh you actually have a city view» possible or an oceanview that is a sliver of a hallway and mostly a concrete wall.
The corridors are indoors, which is nice come the hot season. There is a nice little grassy strip out back to relax on if you don’t want sand all over everything.
I would stay here again, though I wonder if it would be in my price range come peak months. Still, a great 3* hotel, everything you’d want and expect with some added bonus conveniences and amenities!

Great hotel with a wonderful room. My wife and I stayed here as a romantic get away. We got the king suite with 2 person whirlpool tub. The room was very nice and clean and the whirlpool tube was awesome. We paid $ 164.00 after taxes and fees. While a little more than I would normally spend, the rooms all face the ocean and have a king size bed with the whirlpool tub. Overall I’m very happy with the room, hotel and staff. The restaurant wasn’t bad and the prices weren’t bad either. I will be staying here again when I need a weekend getaway with my wife.

Two stars for two reasons.. The cleaning lady in the second floor. .so sweet and helpful… the lady working in the breakfast area– she was really the best at making sure you were being taken care of. Other than that I don’t think there was anything good to say. The walls look filthy. The front office staff wanted you out of their hair asap. felt like you were a nuisance to them.. The windows in the halls had not been cleaned any of the days we stayed there…

This location is right on the boardwalk and beach. It has a full-​service restaurant. It is well-​kept and clean.

We booked our hotel last minute and were thrilled they had room available. Our king size room overlooked the ocean and we had a remarkable view.
The hotel is right next to the 31^st street pavilion where they have live music. We arrived late on Sunday and there was a band playing. Every night this week there has been live music and it has been a real treat.
The breakfast that is included will definitely fill you up and there is no need to go away for breakfast. Fresh coffee, eggs and a choice of meat. You can also make waffles if you choose to.
For the price and time of year, we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful so far! I have the worst hotel luck ever. I have gotten smelly rooms, buggy rooms, anything you can imagine at other hotels. Just checked in to the Hampton today and it has been a delight. The room is perfect, fresh & clean. The staff is the friendliest I have ever met. I just love it here and would recommend it to anyone. So glad I have 4 more days to enjoy! :)

Decent enough. The check in was speedy… is it possible to go so fast you feel rushed. The clerk complained about being hiot… no one told him to bike to work in 95 degree temps. Anyhoo, the hotel is okay, typical hampton. The view is very nice. Nothing beats staying directly on the beach. Free parking. All of rooms are with a beach view. They did fulfill my request for the top floor. bTW we just checked in a few hours ago. The beds at the Hampton are actually comfortable. Room comes with fridge and microwave. The restaurant looks so so but I will try them tomorrow. The restaurant next door at the Hilton looks and smells yummy! May go there instead :-). We normally head North for the beaches but decided to stay close to home. This part of the strip is hmmmm residential… lines of hotels with the typical boardwalk shops on Atlantic Blvd. these stores basically repeat themselves. 4 sweet frogs within ½ mile ha! Would i come back to this hotel… maybe but i may check out other properties as well. The pool looks small but decent enough. Cant find the gym so we will have to call the front desk. Small property trying to squeeze in a lot. Bike rentals next door so i will rent a bike tomorrow. Still very nice but small balcony. No screen so if you open the door at might expect flying visitors! The pics others have posted are accurate. The price is tad high but it is peak season and near the Holiday.

I stayed at this property while passing through Virginia Beach on my way to the Outer Banks. Before I get into the attributes of the hotel I must comment on the staff at this hotel. I travel all the time, to all different types of hotels and resorts of all different classifications, this hotel has among the nicest, friendliest, staff that I have ever encountered. They love their jobs and it shows. Every single person that we passed in the hall greeted us with a friendly smile and comment.
Location: the location cannot be beat. You are right on the boardwalk, with all rooms facing the ocean. Restaurants of all types in the area.
Rooms: the rooms are spotless, large and comfortable. They are nicely furnished with a microwave and refrigerator for families who may need access to such items. The bathrooms are nice and oversized as well. Each room also has a balcony.
Free Breakfast: Everyday for everyone. Hot and cold items and plenty of it.
A comfortable and reasonable place to stay.

Over the many years of travelling, Hampton Inns have been our hotel of choice. We did not feel that this location measured up to the Hampton Inn’s standards. When we arrived at the front desk, instead of the expected «welcome to the Hampton Inn» or at least a «good afternoon, sir,» I was greeted with a «credit card and picture ID please.»
No pleasantries of any kind.
The room needed a thorough cleaning. Dirty glass doors to the balcony looked like they had gook and grime on them. The outdoor furniture was very dirty and had to be cleaned before they could be used. The rug definitely could use a cleaning. And some minor criticisms — no glassware for drinks; ice basket liner not replaced for our 2^nd day;.condiments e.g., mouthwash, not replenished for the 2^nd day, etc.
No major problems, and the view was delightful. However, a little management attention to detail is needed bring this location up to Hampton Inn standards.

Went on a family vacation and stayed here the last week of June. We loved it!!! The rooms were nice and clean. The ocean view was perfect. Every staff member we encountered were nice and friendly. The free breakfast was good– we loved the hostess who made some awesome waffles! We also had lunch at the restaurant downstairs, nice service and great wings. We sat on the patio for lunch.
The parking was good. The pool was small, but it didnt really matter to a kid.
Definitely going to stay here again– SOON!!!

Great hotel but beware Ugly Edgar
This ugly little man was treated our family terribly
We caught him laughing at us with a coworker for asking to check in one hour early with our newborn. He told us he would do everything he could to help get a room ready. (His wide grin)
After overhearing him talk and laugh about us with coworker about «stupid and suckers» we were I asked to talk to his manager. Of course… the «manager was
off» that weekend and Ugly Edgar was in charge. I told him my newborn and toddler say «thanks» for all his help. He looked down at my newborn and said «ByeBye! Have a gooood time! Hahaha»
No kidding. No exaggeration
