This is without a doubt the best sushi restaurant in Hamtpon Roads. I have eaten here at least 25 times, and it is consistently outstanding. I have never had a bad meal here. I have yet to find another sushi restaurant that is as good and have tried quite a few in the area.

Fuji Japan has been our family’s favorite Japanese restaurant for 7 years now. The food has always been amazing. We have never had a bad experience. We order everything from teriyaki dinners to fresh rolls. The server is always so welcoming. She learned our family’s order years ago. In the past couple of years we have expanded to bringing my parents and sister for birthdays and she has even learned their orders. It’s wonderful. I can’t say enough good about this place. We still try all over VB because sometimes we aren’t close by, but nothing compares. Love it!

One of my favorite lunch spots. I used to be about Yama sushi for the free roll but they have been falling off for some time now. Fuji in my opinion is one of the best I’ve tried. They do need to update their décor on the outside but lets get to the point… Always fresh and the lady who works there(I’m horrible with names) always remembers me and asks how I“m doing, that’s good customer service. They should have a Loyalty Program for how many people I bring there. The lunch box is the best for your money, you get tempura vegetables, miso soup, salad, and two rolls for around $ 9 or $ 10. No other place you can get that with good fish quality, unless you want to be skimmed on sushi.

Went recently and ordered the same rolls that I previously reviewed and almost every piece of the rolls fell apart when I picked them up. As you can imagine, that made for a frustrating eating experience. Also, the roll taste kind of bland … Maybe it was the rice?

Very friendly service and they give you freebies and all that… The sushi isn’t rolled well and the wrong kind of rice is used(long grain) so the rolls fall apart. Flavor wise, it was not spectacular.

This place will always be our favorite japanese restaurant :‘D they always serve everything fresh and so delish! plus they are always so cool to talk to. Oh and don’t forget the tatami room if you want to feel extra comfy. So if you’re craving for Japanese food, this is the place to go. Always so satisfying without fail! :)

This place is the spot for good hand-rolled sushi in VA Beach. We had a number of rolls(didn’t try any negiri) and they were all phenomenal, better than many city sushi joints I’ve been to. The chef even brought us his favorite roll on the house, which was fantastic.

This was hands-down the best meal I’ve had in a while! The teriyaki beef was high-quality steak and onions with a salad, rice, and miso soup. Definitely worth the drive. It was so nice to visit a restaurant in this part of the country and not be offered sweet tea when I ask for tea. And their green tea came in a decorative mug. I found this place by accident. It’s in a strip mall and the windows are blocked. Which is not a bad thing. It is a whole different world inside. artwork in frosted glass on the vestibule wall, and hanging artwork inside. Very quiet, peaceful, and friendly staff. I can’t recommend this place highly enough(and I’m not even a big fan of sushi!).

Their sushi menu was impressive, although the only explanation given was a small insert in the menu, which didn’t cover every roll they had on the menu. Other than that, though, every roll I did have was delicious and the service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this place as they serve quality food at a very reasonable price.

Best sushi in Kempsville — consistently! Nice family-run establishment. Try the crème brûlée– I know that is sounds like an odd dessert at a sushi restaurant, but it is delicious! Also, the lunch boxes are a great deal price-wise. Spend the extra three bucks to upgrade your lunch box to a specialty roll and it’s still around $ 10.

You cannot beat the mango tango roll. Absolutely divine! Service was great — very friendly — we went early for dinner last night before Dave Matthews Band and they had us in and out. This is our 2nd year in a row before the show and it didn’t disappoint. Give them a try.

The sushi is the best I’ve had in the Hampton Roads area! Though its located in a strip mall, do not let the location fool you; the quality of the food surpasses the other ambiance rich sushi joints by and far. The fish is always fresh and tasty and the service is outstanding. I cannot for the life of me understand why this place isn’t always packed. This place is a hidden gem!

Definitely my favorite Japanese/sushi restaurant in Virginia Beach. Ingredients are always fresh and everything is made with care. My favorite rolls are the volcano & fire bomb rolls. I also recommend getting their seafood tataki for appetizer. It’s spicy tuna & salmon on a bed of seaweed salad(yum!). From the kitchen, my all time favorite entrée is their seafood teriyaki. It’s definitely pleasing to the palate. If you get lucky, the waiter will give you a complimentary dessert lol I’ve received free crème brûlée a couple of times. Overall, this is a great casual restaurant with a very clean environment. The staff and the sushi chef are always very friendly and personable.

Im very impressed with this place. I ordered my usual Miso soup and a GLASS of ice water. This time I tried another Unilocalers suggestion and ordered the Volcano Roll. Yummy! My fish was fresh and every thing was on time. They were on top of it with my water refills, I got 4. Love water!

This is my new favorite sushi spot in Virginia Beach(even more reason now for me to visit my parents). The BEST sushi roll I’ve ever had was here. Their volcano roll is phenomenal! The seaweed salad was quite tasty too. I only saw one sushi chef in this small and quaint restaurant. I could tell that he puts a lot of «heart» in his sushi. I was sort of laughing at their use of a projector for television, though. At the end, the young-looking waiter brought out a complimentary plate of delicious mochi dessert. I’m sold!
