Food Lion

produce department was excellent and the meat was fresh. checkers need to be more for faster check out.

This Food Lion is a staple in my neighborhood. Always well stocked, the staff is helpful and friendly (they actually STOP and ask if you need any help… AND THEN THEY LISTEN. The deli crew is awesome and the produce section… nothing bruised or unappealing. I’ll choose this location over the new HUGE box supermarket less than a mile away.

I’ve lived in Virginia Beach pretty much all of my life and Food Lion is a staple grocery store in the Hampton Roads area. Ever since I remember growing up, we have always either shopped at Food Lion, Farm Fresh, or Harris Teeter.
Usually Food Lion’s are good with no complaints as they offer good choices at competitive prices. However, at this particular location, I was not impressed. The selection of produce, international cheeses and foods, and vegetables were minimal. In addition, the staff is okay but not usually attentive to your needs. Also, the bakery is extremely lacking in their overall variety and we never buy anything from their selection.
The cleanliness of the store is pretty clean and the arrangement of the store is pretty good though.
The only reason why this is the Food Lion that we go to now, is because it’s the closest, however compared to the other Food Lion’s we have been to in the past (Shore drive location is awesome!), this just doesn’t compare.
