I love fish tacos and this place hands down has the best in the area. Beats gringos by a small margin. House margarita is great on happy hour, had a splash of orange juice in it and well worth a try. Girlfriend had chimicangas and loved them.

Maybe it’s because I lived in California for 10 years and ate real Mexican food, I just feel like the food was lacking flavor. However I will say the staff was wonderful and took very good care of us and the food came out quickly, there was no long wait time.

Being travelers, we always appreciate the fabulous Unilocaling community, as they point the way to great experiences. In the case of El Taco Loco, we enjoyed it so much we’d have loved to pack up the restaurant and open right here in Philly. That’s rare. What we loved that made us want to woo them north to Yankee territory was their inventiveness. There are plenty of restaurants that serve up standard Mexican/TexMex fare — tacos, enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, on and on. Some are more high end, with more regional fare, and others are more Mexican fast food. El Taco Loco, while serving mid-range standard fare, also had some really creative offerings, such as Mexican BBQ Ribs(very good), Mexicana Lasagna and Mexican Sloppy Joe. I love that they are playing with ‘standard’ american fare and adding their own personality, and I’m seriously sad we could only eat there once on our trip. The restaurant is in the labrynthe First Colonial/Laskin shopping center, it’s in the section farthest away from the intersection. Service was fine as was the ambience. Now if they’d only open a location in Philly…

Our go to Mexican restaurant in Virginia Beach. Get the Carlos burrito if you cant decide what you want, it has a little bit of everything! Their table side guacamole is the best I’ve had.

I eat here often for lunch on my break! Service is fast(if you let them know you need it fast) — good is good — I always get a shrimp quesadilla — it is cheap(the lunch one) and yummy! They offer white salsa(not cheese but the cold white sauce) with their salsa.

The restaurant was pretty dead when I was here on a Wednesday night, but then again, it was the weekday. The customer service was great and they were friendly. The appetizer chips were cold and hard… I prefer warm fresh chips. I thought it was strange that they served a large portion of ranch with the chips, which was a waste. The salsa wasn’t too bad, but I’ve had better. The soft tacos were good but nothing special.

Excellent food, great service, very fast and affordable. Took a pretty lady there for dinner tonight, we both had margaitas. She had fajitas and I had a four taco meal called Los Tacos Locos — it was sort of a sampler of different tacos. Very good.

No complaints about customer service, friendly atmosphere. I gave 3 stars out of 5 because my husband found a cooked fly in my shrimp and crab chimichanga which was tasty until we found that fly.

Very pleasantly surprised by El Taco Loco. A fun mix of Mexican fusion brings together a rather tasty meal. The beef brisket burrito was amazing(and huge) dish like nothing I’ve tried before. The burrito fundidos was really good; shrimp were perfectly cooked. The menu is rather diverse and I look forward to going back and trying many more dishes.

This place was pretty good. The service started off slow but once he started to move it was good service. The food was perfect. Everything tasted great. I would defiantly go back, might even consider this my New Mexican place.

The shrimp is why I come here for their fajitas! The shrimp is big & juicy. Other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to have nothing on their fajitas!!! Also I know it may seem like just salsa for their chips & salsa but it’s better than any other place the red salsa more than anything. Don’t change a thing El Taco Loco!!!

Best tacos in Virginia Beach hands down! And they have hand sanitizer at the table, which I think every restaurant should do.

This is a place I enjoy going to greatly, and have recently recommended it to a friend to celebrate her birthday, and it was a fun one! As someone who has grown up with Mexican food, I have to sometimes take it for what it is and not really«Mexican» food. I find myself having to do this a somewhat, but not entirely. I would say it is more true to the label ‘Mexican American’ of their food. There is true American fusion into their food. The food is mouth-watering appetizing and tasty. I have tried a handful of meals, such as Perron Burrito, Torta Mexicana, BBQ Nachos, Coctel de Camaron, Grilled Avocado, and other great things off the menu. Food Highlights: Torta Mexicana, Grilled Avocado and Coctel de Camaron. The Coctel de Camaron, shrimp cocktail, is something that reminds me of Mexico. It taste pretty similar to some of the shrimp cocktail I used to get when I lived in Mexico. The grilled avocado is super delicious, and it actually gave me more ideas on how to use avocado! I always love when a restaurant can stay true with saying that they’re Mexican influenced. I love getting Micheladas from this place! If you haven’t tried it then please do! Their mixed drinks are pretty tasty and perfect for a good night! The atmosphere of this place is great and it’s good for a date night, night out with the family, or going out with a group of friends

It was Saturday after valentines day and the kids were at school so we decided to eat lunch somewhere on Laskin Road. We couldn’t decide and wanted a drink so we ended up here… Too close to call, but this place almost beats my favorite Mexican spot in Hampton roads. Chips are fresh, the salsa and white sauce were on point and my steak fajitas were so good. I’ll definitely come back here again.
