If you want a salon and spa with NYC service but with the friendliness of the south, Dupre’s is your place. When you walk in the door you are greeted with a truly genuine «So glad you are here!» The place is always buzzing with an energy of friendliness.
You can tell that the staff love to be there and are truly happy to provide you with any service from a simple cut to a relaxing massage.
If you are looking for a truly fantastic salon or spa, you have to check them out!

Still really love Dupres. I currently am seeing Matt for cut and Joy for color. They both are just the best! Joy does great cuts too but for me and my schedule, Matt is just a bit easier to get in to see since he only does cuts and not color. The entire staff is super friendly. They carry only top of the line products and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Great experience! I’ve been going back and forth about cutting my hair for months and I finally decided that my split ends needed to go. I’ve lived down the street from Dupre’s for a couple years now but was hesitant to get my hair cut there because of the price. After a less than ideal haircut at another salon I figured it was better spend the extra money than to live with a shotty haircut. First off, I called the salon the day of and they had a slot available for that afternoon which worked out great for me. The front desk was polite and informative both when I called and when I arrived. They quoted me $ 47 and that’s exactly what it came out to… no extra charges. Nancy was the stylist who cut my hair and I couldn’t have been happier with her. She was polite and very professional. She also did an amazing job! After being in Virginia for 5 years now I’ve finally found a salon and stylist that I love! the best part is that the total cost was just $ 10 more than the less than great haircut I had before.

The stylists are all well versed in the current styles, color & products. They are all friendly, trendy & helpful.
My stylist Sarah trains annually in NYC. So I am always confident that, with her advice & suggestions, I have «East Coast» hair. She makes my color & cut choices, which I’m always happy with. Treatments & glazes are also at her direction, which really makes a difference in the feel of my hair.
Sarah’s choice of Bumble & Bumble products have made the daily care of my hair much easier. And I love the flat iron & brush she suggested.
When you use a top stylist like Sarah pre-​booking is important. I’m not the only one who appreciates how wonderful she is.
Even though it’s a large salon & day spa, the owner is extremely friendly, hands on & can be found at his station caring for his regular clients.
In addition to hair, a full selection of spa services are available. There is complementary Wi Fi & beverage selections.
Don’t expect bargain prices. This is truly a quality salon. And you get what you pay for. They do have «last minute» opening spa service specials that you can access via the Web of their email notification. You can accumulate points to use for services. You even get points for checking in on Facebook.
Can you tell that I love Dupre’s? Yes! I’m sitting waiting for my glaze to set & sipping a beverage.

Came here to get my brows done, bc I have another stylist but wanted to check it out. First off the place is gorgeous inside, and very large. Front desk had 3 girls working and was great advertisement for the salon bc they all had extremely different hair styles, which showcases the salons capabilities. Rhianna did my eyebrows, and she did a great job. Asked me what my goals are for them, etc. I did the brow wax and tinting and they looked wonderful when done. Only flaw I saw with this place is minor and just the front desk didn’t relay to her I was there so waited a bit to get seen. Also, met the owner she was very friendly and knowledgable about the business. I will be a return customer and spread the word.

I’ve been searching Hampton Roads for three years for a stylist that can do a pixie cut. I was convinced I would just have to grow out my hair until I could move to a different city. Then I discovered Dupre’s. The front desk is always helpful and the stylists are all very nice, even if the atmosphere is a little snooty… what do you expect from a fairly high end spa? And thank goodness for Matt! Finally, someone in Hampton Roads that can actually manage a pixie cut! The price is a little on the high side, but Dupre’s is well worth it.

Had a horrible experience with Matt and was treated unprofessional by the snobby front desk staff when I said I wasn’t happy with my haircut.

If you are looking for a place to get a massage go see crystal! I just had a prenatal massage and there are no words for how amazing I feel! She was very sweet, professional, and a more than wonderful massage therapist! I hope every pregnant woman does this at least once! If you’re not pregnant get a regular one! I will def be returning and the price of the massage was very fair for what I received. She did a cold stone facial massage, paraffin treatments for both hands and feet, belly mask (prenatal only obviously), and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I can’t wait to go again!

This particular review is a little late, but is for the airbrush spray tans I (and my bridal party) received in September 2013. I believe we saw Kelsey, who was absolutely fantastic! I had done a booth tan a few times in the past, but wanted to ensure my tan looked natural and completely streak-​free for the big day. Let me tell you, airbrush spray tans are personal. The tech will get all up in your biz, and it’s going to be awkward. Kelsey made all of us feel comfortable and was extremely professional and proficient. The three of us got lots of compliments on our beautiful, «natural» tans and we all photographed very well :-)

FINALLY… I’ve found my peeps. I get my eyebrows AND hair done here. It’s expensive… and a tad uptight (hence the 4 stars)…but if you can get over that part… you’ll leave a VERY happy customer! My advice… go after work and enjoy a glass of wine whilst getting your hair did!

I am new to the area and was looking for a great place to get my haircut. Always having bad experiences with haircuts, I have a high anxiety going to any salons. I walked in and was greeted professionally by the receptionist. Nancy Jean was my stylist, who listened VERY well to my concerns and took in everything I wanted done to my hair. As she cut, she made sure to okay her moves with me… Which is a total plus in my book! She did an awesome cut and style and SO friendly… Would definitely recommend Nancy Jean to anyone who loves to be listened too and have their needs cared out professionally. Best experience I have had at a salon, only reason not a 5star is because it was a little costly but still worth it! :-)

I’ve been to Dupre’s twice and have been happy with my hair after both visits. Joy has cut my hair both times and has done an excellent job. I have very fine, straight hair and a lot of people don’t know how to cut it, especially when it gets longer. I always have a hard time finding someone who knows what to do with it, but Joy has been great. Everyone is very friendly and the salon is nice and professional looking.

I removed my review a few months ago because I thought I was the only one who had a bad experience. I’m seeing more people are having similar issues with customer service.
Several months ago I visited the spa portion of Dupres. It was wonderful. Best hot stone massage (with Sarah!) and facial ever. My one gripe was the lack of communication between the front desk and massage therapist. She didn’t know I was scheduled for a hot stone massage or even another service for that matter. I had to tell her I wanted hot stones and the esthetician chased us down the stairs for the next portion of my appointment. Whatever. Wonderful experience.
Back in May I decided to try bayalage. Made an appointment specifically for bayalage and a haircut. I was 5 minutes late for my appointment and could tell the stylist wasn’t happy (I was confused by two times in the confirmation email– there’s a consultation time and an appointment time). Anyway, I showed her a photo I liked and she replied, «your hair isn’t that dark.» I waited for her to offer some sort of suggestion. Crickets. It was a very awkward conversation. She left to mix up some color and I sat there feeling nervous. To make a long story short– I didn’t get bayalage. She put foils and a glaze in my hair. I also told her I didn’t want an angled bob– I got an angled bob. My service cost over $ 220.
After the appointment I was slightly irritated no one listened to me– from reception making my appointment to the stylist being a bit stand offish. I emailed the salon explaining the situation hoping something would be done to improve how appointments are made/​carried out. The manager replied explaining they don’t book specific services (so if you ask for bayalage or a hot stone massage, you have to remind the person providing the service what you’re after). The manager offered 25 dollars off my next service– kind gesture, but not what I was looking for– I went back to my stylist in Norfolk and am sorry for cheating on her with Dupres. I’d definitely recommend their spa services though.

I had a horrible experience at this salon. I went in for highlights, eye brow wax and an up do. It took three different people and five hours which was just ridiculous. Everyone I came in contact with was pretentious. For $ 350 I would have thought they could have at least been… I don’t know… NICE?
I would never recommend Dupre’s to anyone. Go to Gary Allen instead, their stylists are actually talented and they respect your business.

Came back for the first time in a couple years recently for a haircut and very natural highlights done around my face. I trust Dupre’s to give very modern and sleek haircuts which is what I like. I took a little break from getting my hair colored for a couple years as I couldn’t afford the perfect blonde anymore at the time (I’m naturally dark brown).Now, however I’m willing and able to spend a decent amount on my hair and it’s totally worth it to me.
I love my stylist Carrie, she is laid back, LISTENS to what you want, and understands how to keep you looking natural while still adding color.
I’ve gone back to my natural brown color and have short-​medium length hair now. She gave me a perfect cut — super sleek and modern like I like and added very natural-​looking highlights around my face, mostly at my temples. Pulling that off takes a lot of technique and consideration of what I wanted.
Needless to say, I’m very happy and will continue to go to Carrie for trims and color.

I never get pedicures anywhere because I cant stand the thought of getting my foot scraped with that stone (foot pumice) they scraped everyone elses foot with for a month. Sometimes I will get desperate and buy my own foot pumice and go get a pedicure but its very unlikely, Ill just paint my toes myself. Dupre’s pedicure gave me life, no screaming kids, no hot and muggy business because the place is cheap and doesnt want to turn on the A/​C so they just prop open the front door, no cell phone convos, no gossiping, no ramen noodles cooking next to my massage chair. NO COLD WATER.
Suky set a therapeutic neck pillow around my shoulders and set the mood for the most peaceful pedicure. the foot file was used on me only and tossed as soon as she was finished, I got brand new toe separators and didnt get chased down while leaving to give them back out so they could be used until next year like every other 86 688 768 866 900 000 768 nail salon in the vicinity.
only con would be the massage could be a minute or two (ok 5 minutes) longer
As far as the fee for missed appointments, yup, I know all about fees. I probably miss more appointments then I make and Dupre’s is more than willing to work with you. I too am in the military, 11 years, NO base has you that busy you cant call to cnx your appointment, better make a saturday appointment if you are that lost on your work schedule. ok ok worst case I called and said I could not make my appointment, I understand the penalty and I had no problem with them charging my credit card… you know what they told me, «thank you for calling, we understand and we will waive the fee.»

I returned to Dupre’s two weeks later to have another wonderful experience. I had my hair colored and had some waxing done, two services I did not have done on my first visit. Nice job, Dupre’s.
I wish I could give them more stars.

My friend always has the best haircuts, so I asked her where she was going. She told me Dupres. I don’t know why, but I never ended up getting my hair done there and I won’t now because I live farther away. But, I’ve been for pedicures and massages and this is one of the best day spas around.
They have the best classic pedicure I’ve ever had. It’s a cross between the technician and the products they use that make it extra pleasant. I also loved my massage. The price was about $ 65 for an hour, which is pretty average. Dupres carries a lot of great products, including Dermatologica and Bumble and Bumble. I highly recommend the salon.

I’ve been researching professional wedding make-​up artists who use Bare Escentuals and came across Dupre’s. I haven’t visited Dupre’s; however, I spoke with the receptionist and one of the associates over the phone. Both seemed reluctant to help because I’m not a current client.
I asked if the make-​up artist (s) would come on location to do wedding make-​up for my bridal party and me. The lady with whom I spoke said the make-​up artists might be able to do this on their own time outside of the salon time. She said she’ll pass along my contact information to two make-​up artists and they would contact me within 48 hours.
Well, I called around March 12^th, and today is March 29^th! All I wanted was a phone call and response to my inquiry. Oh well… I crossed Dupre’s off my list.
