Cosmo’s Corner Doggie Day Care

Wow! I am left speechless! This place is amazing!
I was traveling from Dallas, TX and needed a dog sitter for half a day. I was so nervous about traveling to a new place and leaving my dog there but those anxieties were quickly relieved when I met Lauren! She is amazing!
Upon picking up my fluffy friend I also had the pleasure of meeting Melissa who informed me that my dog made friends and had doggie adventures while I drove around Virginia Beach and had human adventures. *happy heart*
If I lived in the area I would bring my dog here everyday! If you make this your «go-​to» place for your dog you’ll be happy with your decision!

What a wonderful place! We had the opportunity to use this facility last month during our trip to Virginia Beach. I liked the open area concept but was a little leery since our Nicholas and Sasha had not been around a lot of other dogs. Lauren took the time to explain everything regarding the care our fur babies would receive. After 3 days, I called to see how they were doing. Again, Lauren took time away from her tasks to give me a detailed report on how she was integrating Nicholas into the pack, how the dogs were eating and their overall interaction with the staff. When we arrived to pick them up 3 days later, I was shocked. They let us peek into the opened area before we picked the dogs up and there was both Sasha and Nicholas in the midst of the pack, just being dogs! I was ecstatic!
Cosmo’s Corner will be our place of choice when we need boarding for our pets when in the Virginia Beach area. All of the staff members were just wonderful.
And ladies — you were right — Sasha and Nick slept the whole day when we got them home! I think they might have had more fun than we did.

We were in town for a weekend and looked up local daycares to drop our pup while we spent the day on the beach. Dropped our Frenchton off at 10a on a Saturday and picked her up happy and tired on Sunday at 11a. Prices are so reasonable (esp compared to DC) and the staff was friendly and seemed competent. It’s in kind of a weird location and isn’t fancy, but it certainly met our needs and was a safe, fun spot for our pooch!

Went on a tour of the facility today to determine if I would want to board my dog here. I was shown the large dog area (where I noticed a mixture of sizes to which the worker responded that some dogs prefer being with big dogs). The room was slam packed with dogs and a door that opens out to a small outside area (this business is located in the middle of an industrial park), when I asked about the number of dogs, I was told they can board up to 70 dogs on this side alone. incredible! This is NOT a large room. When I asked where they slept at night, she said «If you request they be kenneled, they can accommodate, otherwise they have a „slumber party“ and just throw rugs and beds down on the floor and everyone sleeps all over.»
We then walked over to the small dog area. This room is much smaller, with the same setup. We were told that they typically have around 30 dogs in this area. Again, this room was wall-​to-​wall dogs, many of which seemed anxious to get out, many barking, like a dog pound environment.
My dog would be totally overwhelmed in this type of environment. Way too many dogs in one contained area with one worker. If a pack fight broke out I can’t imagine the tragic outcome. There is no way one person can supervise 70 dogs at one time. I don’t know what the code is or if there is a code in Virginia, but this cannot be safe.
I highly recommend all pet owners tour facilities and ask lots of questions before entrusting the lives of your fur babies to these dog boarding/​doggie daycare facilities.

My dog loves coming here! We started bringing her when she was a puppy for socialization with other dogs and so I could get a break. LOL They also carry organic food. That is hard to find! The first time we went there we got a tour of the place. The dogs can lounge around on a couch or run around outside with their buddies. They separate the larger dogs from the smaller dogs. At first we were just using this for their doggie day care. But, then we needed to go out of town and decided to use them for boarding. At the time our dog was a young puppy that we were crate training. So, we told them her routine and asked she sleep in a kennel. Everything went well. Now that she is older when she boards we let her roam free and sleep where she wants (on a pillow, couch, floor). She literally yanks my arm off trying to get in there. She is always happy when I pick her up.

I brought my beagle here when I had to rush out for a business trip. I was gone for a week, one week with them and when I picked her up she smelled like urine and was trembling and shaking. She had fleas and the equivalent to bed sores, I know I saw crates and they told me this was just for feeding but is this really the case? My dog wouldn’t get sores from just being crated for feeding. My baby is an older dog of 6 years and is also a shelter dog. They could have treated her much better than this!
I was hoping that the health and safety of the dogs were the 100% top priority of this daycare facility but they aren’t. They’re overcrowded and there are too many dogs.

Love this place, but most importantly our dog LOVES this place! We’ve taken him a few times for doggie daycare, but most recently boarded him for 2 days. He’s only 7 months old, but the ladies there reassured me that his 3x/​day feeding would be fine, and he could sleep wherever he was comfortable, just like at home. Just picked him up, he is one happy pup!

If my yellow lab Nola could write this review himself he would say «Mom» this is the best place ever! He loves going to «school» and seeing all his doggie friends at Cosmo’s. I’ve been taking Nola here for about 6+ months now, on and off when we’re here in VA Beach visiting family. My dog has a lot of energy and loves nothing more than to engage and play hard with other dogs. The staff here is always attentive, caring and responsive. The other woman who recently boarded her dog here and gave a 1 star review must be high maintenance because, whenever I’ve called someone has always answered and been there to assure my concerns. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them and their staff. I’ve been to plenty of other daycare/​kennels and well, my dog always let’s me know if they «don’t pass muster!» A good day of play is when Nola falls asleep on the way home and then crashes on the couch, sleeping through dinner. So, if you’re asking yourself, should I give this place a try? The answer is YES! They’re more than happy to give you and your dog a full tour before you drop them off to board or for daycare and a day of play. When I don’t take Nola there, if I’m in VA Beach, he gets a sad look on his face. It’s the best money you’ll ever spend for knowing your dog will be warn out.

Very disappointed with this place. We left our dog here for the weekend and since we had never dropped her off here before we asked if we could call throughout the weekend to get updates on how she was doing. We called all weekend and no one answered. When we went to pick her up we asked how she did and got a vague response «fine» with no details. When I unpacked her bag almost all of her food was left there. I called to ask why and they said «she didn’t eat». I told the manager that I would have liked to know that when I picked her up. Her response? «I am sorry you feel that way.» Our poor dog!

My dog had a fantastic experience here which means I had a fantastic experience here. Unlike my last rottweiler who preferred to hang with people, my current rottie likes to hang with other dogs. Unfortunately, my neighborhood has a lot of unstable dogs due to irresponsible dog owners who not only have never trained their dog properly but also never walk their dogs (can you even imagine?). I wanted to be able to socialize my dog in a stable pack with experienced dog people and I found it in Cosmo’s Corner. I visited the place, took a tour and talked to the staff before I dropped my dog off for daycare. Not only did I watch the dogs in daycare but the dogs leaving and coming. The dogs leaving were obviously happy to see their owners but the dogs coming were like kids in a candy store! Totally not kidding! I only use Cosmo’s daycare for socialization purposes but my dog absolutely loves it. I completely trust the ladies with my pup and I love it that every dog that walks in, they know them by name! My own mother sometimes forgets mine!
A MAJOR plus… they do not discriminate against breeds.

I have a very intelligent/​engaging dog who needs frequent interaction or her curiosity and boredom will get the better of her. I travel for work and this requires me to have her stay with someone often, I looked for caregivers who would treat her as I would. Cosmo’s Corner does that! When I started looking for daycare/​kennels I interviewed many and had trial stays at several. Sadly there were a few which lived up to their ‘glowing’ reviews online. While at the dog park I shared my frustration about finding a truly GOOD daycare/​kennel. Was it too much to ask that my dog not be kenneled all day and that they love and make a fuss over my BB girl the way I do? No less than 5 (no exaggeration) 5 pet parents suggested I go to Cosmo’s Corner. They all had nothing but fabulous things to say so I called and asked if I could come visit the facility and bring my BB. That was about eight months ago. My BB LOVES Cosmo’s Corner!!! She goes everyday, plays hard and crashes on the couch once home. She doesn’t have a problem staying over night either. On Saturday/Sunday’s when she realizes she isn’t going to Cosmo’s she will pout! All of the ladies who work there really do love their job and love watching/​taking care of our four legged babies. They are good people and I recommend them often to anyone looking for a good and proper daycare of their fur babies.

GREAT customer service. Coco (my pup) came home not smelling like a dirty dog– like she has when coming home from other daycares, she looked excited and happy… and no joke, she barked out the back of the car while we were driving away… she is not a barker! I think she was saying goodbye to all her new friends! ;) we will absolutely be returning!

Our dogs stayed at Cosmo’s Corner for a weekend. Everyone that works here is very friendly and our dogs came home tired and happy! You can’t ask for more than that! Cosmo’s also has a very nice selection of healthy food and treats. We will definitely be back.

We love Cosmo’s Corner! We have taken our dogs to them for doggie daycare and overnight stays for the last 2 ½ years. Our dogs can’t wait to get out of the car and in their door when we arrive. They are barking and headed for their door. That is the best sign to their «mom and dad,» if they are that excited to get in the door and are worn out when they come home… then we know they are taking wonderful care of our babies!
The whole team at Cosmo’s Corner is wonderful and will take care of your babies just like they would their own! We love that there is someone there with them 24÷7÷365. Our daughter will even bring her dog down from Southern Maryland to board him because he loves going there, too. She has not found anything close to what Cosmo’s gives our pets in her area. When they say, «your dogs will sleep like they do at home,» they aren’t kidding. We have asked them to put our dogs in one room together at night with their beds, their blankets and they do just that for us. It makes leaving them on overnights easier and helps us to enjoy our vacation because we know they are being looked after they way we have asked. And the stress is much lower on them and US!
Give Cosmo’s Corner a try… YOU won’t be sorry!!!

I absolutely love this place! I have been visiting the store side since my Dane was a puppy. We left my dogs at another local kennel over Thanksgiving and were really unhappy with the results, so when we had to leave them over Christmas, we gave Cosmo’s Corner a try. We left my Dane here for 9 days. He was so happy during the entire visit! They sent me regular updates via picture and text messages. When I came to pick him up, he was running around and playing with the other dogs. They didn’t charge extra to let him outside like other local kennels. I could really tell that the staff loves the dogs and treats them well even when their owners are not around. There is also somebody that stays at the kennel 24 hours a day which I really liked.

Cannot put into words how much I love this place. Cosmo’s crew loves dogs and loves taking care of them. They remember my dog and are so excited to see her. Best of all, my dog can’t wait to go back to Cosmo’s. She literally jumps out of the car and runs to the door when we arrive at Cosmo’s!!!
