Blowout Salon

This is the first time I have been to this salon. Jennifer did a great job with my cut and offered me coupons for my next return.

I’m giving this place two stars, mainly because of my poor customer service experience. I actually had a Blowout here, and the stylist did a good job! (Hence, two stars.) However, before I came, I purchased a Groupon; when I called to make an appointment, the person who answered said that they weren’t taking appointments for the Groupon the day I needed a blowout (for an event), so I scheduled a regular priced appointment, and said I would use the Groupon another time. When I tried to make a second appointment to use the Groupon, the manager said they couldn’t honor it because I wasn’t a new client. Even though I explained that a) I was a new client when I bought the Groupon (which they verified) and b) I had paid for a full price visit my first time because THEY told me I couldn’t use the Groupon the day I needed it. They told me I could «get a refund from Groupon,» and didn’t even offer to let me use the credit towards a full price blowout, or apologize for the fact that their own receptionist had apparently led me astray. I don’t think that’s a particularly good way to treat a customer who has already paid full price once, and wants to return.
UPDATE: Groupon will not issue a refund, FYI. So, I’m downgrading this to one star because I’m out the cost of the Groupon due to the salon’s error.

Came here on the rainest Saturday to get a blowout for a wedding that night.
I called about a week ahead of time and the only time available was 3pm which was perfect for me since the wedding was at 7pm.
My stylist name was Brittany and she was super nice and friendly. I don’t go to salons ever because my sister used to do hair and if I need anything ever done that I can’t do myself I go to her, well she was outta town for our work so it left me with having to go somewhere and let a stranger work in my hair. A little nerve wracking but Brittany made me feel at ease.
It took about maybe 45 minutes to an hour from shampooing to the end, and my hair is about 3 inches or more past my shoulders. She worked fast and didn’t tug at my hair at all and the end result was amazing. Like Victoria Secret Angel hair which lasted through the horrible weather.
I’m scheduling more apts with her in the future!

absolute waste of time and money!!! i came in with an ombré (light brown) was the lightest point on my hair and wanted an all over blue-​black color. it hasn’t even been a month and the black is so faded! i dont even have black hair anymore! its a patchy brown greenish color if you are going to do hair make sure you do it right blowout salon!

Came here with a groupon for a haircut, deep conditioning treatment, and a blowout. The service was friendly, I went on a Tuesday night and it was super dead (just me and the stylist until they closed). She asked me all about what I wanted, how I style it and wear it, what products I use and made sure my cut would work well with it. She checked everything after it was dry and did exactly what I wanted, and the blowout looked amazing. I’ve never received so many compliments on my hair.

I drove around the Hilltop shopping center hoping to find a salon that takes walk-​ins and came across this place. I actually had a good experience with the stylist, he listened and even cut my hair a little shorter when I asked him to. Since the haircut was looking good, I decided to have a glaze done to keep my color shiny but decided to make the appointment for the following day (I had already been in the chair for a hour and a half.) The next day, the stylist was running late for my appointment but said he could get started on me even though he was still with another client. After he applied the color I waited another hour before I got rinsed out (he was still with the first client) and had to wait 20 minutes with my hair wet before he finally got to me. When it was all said and done, I ended up paying more that what I expected because apparently I got charged for a blow dry which I thought would be included with the color service. When I tired to speak to a manager about the miscommunication, she didn’t seem to be apologetic at all and said that all services are a la carte and that unless you go to hair cuttery, all salons charge this way. It didn’t matter that I waited past my appointed time or that I was in the salon less than 24 hrs earlier. This salon seems to be all about making money and not about building happy cliental relationships to ensure a repeat return. I too will not be returning to this salon.

I had a great experience at Blowout. I saw Lauren and she did exactly what I asked of her! I just wanted highlights and a trim and I usually get toner as well but she was courteous enough to tell me that I didn’t need it and saved me a few dollars. She also didn’t try to sell me any products and was very sincere. I would definitely recommend Blowout and Lauren to anyone looking for a new stylist!

I just moved to the area and have been in search of a new salon. This is my third that I have tried and it is a keeper. I went with a Groupon (why not try a new place on a deal?) I was not treated as second rate at all. I called on a Tuesday and was able to get in on a Wednesday afternoon. My stylist when I arrived was Lauren. Who although she may be young, is well trained and knows what she is doing. I have very long thick hair with blowout in it, but it’s still a little rebellious.
I told her what I was looking for.. . she took at least 5 minutes to examine my hair, talk about it, understand what I was saying, ask me questions. It was such a relief. We ended up taking off nearly 5 inches. She asked me each time before she cut and took it off slowly. The cut is AMAZING.
Now onto the blow dry. NO ONE ever blows dries my hair well. I actually often ask them not to just bc I hate the way it’s done, I never feel like they get it as smooth and straight as I can at home (and it’s never really completely dry, so it crinkles right up). She did a FANTASTIC job. I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks and will def be going back for all future cuts.
Other items I liked: offered coffee/​water; individual hand towels in the bathroom; movie with captions on to watch while blow drying.
Things to think about: Cooler water when washing rinsing, reduces frizz; place to put purses other than the floor, hooks maybe?

I went to Blowout before I left for Cancun the beginning of December! This was my first visit and I had my roots touched up and some caramel hi-​lites done. Since my first visit… I have been back there 2 more times and each time that I’ve gone… I am pleased more and more!!! I have thick hair and gray around the edge of my face. Raquel is my stylist and she thinned my hair out and took her time with my hi-​lites and when it was all done… I felt and looked younger and sexy with my silky smooth hair!!! I get so many compliments from my husband, friends, and complete strangers!!! The ladies there are very hospitable! I love the décor and cleanliness of the salon!!!

I had a coupon for this salon, so I drove the 40 minutes to Hilltop in VA Beach. I chose to get highlights with toner, and am very pleased with Kat’s ability to match my hair. I found the place quaint, not much noise besides the sounds of hair being styled. I decided to add a cut and am glad I did. I am very happy with my results… thank you Blowout Salon!

I had a Living Social deal for Blowout which was great because my hair was definitely in need of some TLC. I’d never been to a Blowout salon so I didn’t know what to expect but this place wasn’t bad. I got the Awapuhi conditioning and flat iron along with my eyebrows waxed. My hair feels light and my eyebrows are now 2 again.
Gensis was my stylist and was very nice, even offering me water and coffee.

My original rating for this salon was one star, but after reading my review, the owner of the salon contacted me. She apologized for the bad experience I had and offered a comp. cut and blowout from her to make up for my original experience. While I decided not to go back, I really appreciated her reaching out to me to make things right, which shows she does care about her customers!
