Bayside Laundry & Grill

The ladies behind the counter deserve a lot of credit for making this place special because I don’t think it’s just the food that brings patrons back. The friendly atmosphere and sense of community can be appreciated while you enjoy your fresh off the grill breakfast or lunch. The menu is simple & the prices are right. The fact that this diner is connected to a laundromat just gives it even more charm!

I give it 4 stars.

We were driving, saw this place and had to stop. Hot Dogs, Breakfast and laundry?
You would’ve stopped too.
Small room next to the laundrymat w/​counter and ½ dozen tables. Sat at the counter w/​the everyday (mostly senior) customers chatting it up w/​Dorothy and the younger lady that cooked our food. Dorothy was awesome, ink and all. Nice connection for my breakfast mate. It was like eating in Dorothy’s home kitchen.
Now the food is not exactly 4 star, it’s really good, but it was the way i felt about the place. It had that diner feel.
We had eggs, home fries (from scratch and tasty), bacon and rye toast ($ 5.50)and an egg and bacon toasted sandwich (4.50).
When i visit Va B again i’ll most likely stop in for the dogs.

VERY good food, VERY cheap food, and GREAT/​FAST/​FRIENDLY service.
The food is on a Chow Hall level, but still very good and descent portions. Will definitely be back often.

Love this spot after a night of galavanting… No frills here folks. You get what you get and you don’t throw a fit! Simple menu… Straight to the point. The first time I went I ordered the Trash. I didn’t know until later I could order a baby Trash.
Went back several weeks later and ordered the baby trash. A lot of meat and seasoned well! Definitely not bland. There’s also some homemade hot sauce which his flavor too!
This place reminds me of diners many years ago… The waitstaff shoot straight from the hip and I love it!

Love this place. It doesn’t get any more local than this. Great food and even better prices.

Bayside grill or Margaret’s is a great little hole in the wall simple American grill.

The Bayside Laundry & Grill is located in Bayside Shopping Center on Shore Drive inside of the old Twin Bee Auto Parts building. I stopped in here yesterday for lunch after seeing Jim B’s fried egg sandwich photos.
The diner itself takes up about a quarter of the building. I have to say unlike another review I found the place to be spotless. No dust bunnies running around at all. I sat at the counter and there was one regular to my left and someone else washing clothes was getting a beer. I ordered my lunch and waited hardly at all before my meal arrived.
For the meal I ordered a fried egg sandwich with bacon and cheese and a side of home fries plus a coke. The food was good, in fact it was excellent. The sandwich was on toasted wheat bread, and the home fries had actually been deep fried and I asked to have a little cheese melted on top.
It all sounds good so far, however I do have 2 big complaints. The meal came out to just shy of $ 10.00… That’s right 10 bucks for a fried egg sandwich, home fries and a drink? Really? I thought that was excessive. The other hit is the establishment is cash only. In this day an age being cash only can be a real pain for those prefer to use a credit or debit card. I did notice that they had one of those little one armed bandit ATM’s in the laundromat side, however no one likes to use those things if they can avoid it.
So all in all a mixed bag. Good food, to expensive for what you get, and cash only. I’ll let you decide whether you want to check it out or not from there.

I have only been here for breakfasts. I love the fact that they are open at 5 every morning except Sunday (opens later on Sun). I get out of work in the area at 5 AM and this is the only place around that is open that early except for chains that I’m not fond of.
Mrs Margaret makes a great breakfast. I love the ham and egg or bacon and egg or sausage and egg sandwiches. I also always get hash browns and coffee. The service is always great. I always get my food fast.
This place is not fancy and it is like an old school diner. It is inside a laundry mat. There are some great old photos haning up here and some sports memorabelia that is interesting.
I see they have draft beer also.
This place is all I could ask for for an early morning breakfast place. I don’t need or want fancy at 5 AM when I get out of a 12 hr watch on the waterfront. I want good food and no frills at a reasonable price — and in this place I’ve found it.

I love Dive’s I really do a lot of times you can get a good meal at a decent price and what makes most dive’s is age of the place and in some cases creature comfort’s like broken in chairs etc. This place is a delux dive meaning owners of dive’s think this place is a dive! Having driven past this place I decided to give it a shot for lunch, the grill not the laundry and the laundry is issue #1 the lint blows over to the grill and the floor was dirty and well the place did not look all that clean but I chalked that up to aging photo’s on the wall benefit of doubt kinda thing tried to anyway. The food was so so I had a hot dog chili and onions and mustard the hot dog was fine but the bun was soggy not steamer soggy either, the chili luke warm not the best dog, also a NY hot love them and this one was pretty good not rave about good but serviceable good, O rings frozen and over fired hard pretty bad. Price was high to me 11.25 for all listed + a drink seemed a little high but what ever. Service was pretty good it always makes me go huh when a waitress takes a lunch break during lunch but at least she ate the restaurants food. A good cleaning and non soggy buns would bump this place to a 3.
