It’s a cheap haircut place with people who seem to have just graduated beauty school. Not terrible service, but when you hear one of the employees say they are leaving to get a haircut SOMEWHEREELSE… makes you think hahaha.

I agree with the previous reviewer regarding the eyebrow threading experience. The lady who does the eyebrow always leaves some hair behind and seems to be in a rush. She also talks loudly and criticizes for not coming more often .This is the reason why I stopped going to this salon though its close by.

Used to go here all the time for eyebrow threading and the lady who USED to work here was great. Now it seems like it’s under new management, and the new eyebrow threading lady is terrible! First of all, she criticizes me loudly the entire time for not coming in more often and for cleaning up stray hairs with tweezers in between visits(what else am I supposed to do when she misses hairs?!). The threading itself is not great either, it seems like she’s in a rush, always misses hairs, makes my eyebrows too thin. Also, I ALWAYS have scabs the next day where she cuts my skin when she’s threading! NOT ok! I’m leaving this place after coming here for many years because I’m just fed up with the poor job and customer service.

Utopia now has new management and their threading service is the best. For the price they offer for threading(eyebrows & upper lip) is worth it. I’ve been here for a facial many times as well and it is wonderful. I highly recommend Utopia Salon. I have yet to try getting my haircut at Utopia.

I gone here twice for threading. That’s it, nothing else. The woman does an ok job. Although she kinda took some extra from my eyebrows and I have to fill it in until it grows back, now that I think about it wtf… haha, but this is the closes threading I’ve found! SO until I find a better one that’s as close I guess I’ll have to instruct her from now on. Eh.

Absolutely, without a doubt, hands down, swear on my mother’s grave… this is the #1WORST spa I’ve ever been to. My friend had purchased a coupon book that entitled her to a manicure, a hair cut, a facial, and a massage, but she wasn’t able to use it before it would expire, so she gave it to me. I went in for a manicure first. I was quite pleased with the appearance of the place, at first… it has a down home, local business feel with a little ethnic beauty thrown in… and the people seemed nice enough. Then my manicure began. The emery board she used was way too rough and shaved my long-ish fingernails down to stubs in a matter of seconds. Then she attempted to round off the tips, but what resulted was a very square look with incredibly jagged and sharp points at the end of the square. She began painting my nails with an OPI polish I’d picked out and then sprayed it with something that she said would help it dry more quickly, but I think she used the wrong thing because almost immediately the nail polish began to ooze into the sides of my fingernail and eventually under the nail. Then, of course, it dried that way. When I got home, I immediately removed the polish, broke out my nail file and started filing down those sharp edges she’d created. In fact, I completely redid the manicure. As I was working on my left hand, I felt a pain in my right pinky. I quickly realized I was bleeding… the corner of my nail had been so sharp that as I worked the file back and forth, I had actually CUT myself with my own nail and drawn blood! Not wanting to waste the free package, though, I went back the next day for the facial. I have a lip piercing, and I feel uncomfortable removing the jewelry for more than a few minutes. I’d never had to remove it for a facial before, so I asked if I could leave it in. The woman argued with me and acted like it was going to be this huge inconvenience to her! When I finally convinced her just to go around it, she got me into the«bed», which looked kind of like a dentist chair and was in this cramped, freezing cold little room in the back. The facial wasn’t much better than the manicure. I was not offered a blanket and like I said, the room was freezing… I mean REALLY cold. About halfway through I was shivering. She began cleansing my face, and then without warning she brought that big bright light over my face and turned it on. No warning whatsoever. My eyeballs felt like they’d been lit on fire. After this, she positioned the steam wand over my head and left the room… except the steam was hitting my hair, not my face! I had to grope in the dark for the arm of the device to move it so the steam would hit my face. Then she came back and went to refresh the warm wet towel she’d draped over my face, except this time she used ice-cold water instead of warm water and didn’t warn me first. What an unpleasant shock! After what felt like a 30 minute torture session instead of a relaxing facial, I left and threw out the remaining haircut and massage coupons I had. Even if they were free, I did not want to waste my time letting them torture… erm, I mean«massage» me… and I certainly did not want to let those women anywhere near my hair. Even though this spa is cheaper than most other spas, it’s no where near worth it. I’ve had a more relaxing experience giving MYSELF a facial! All I can say is thank goodness I didn’t pay for any of this.
