Schmitz Exxon Service

Terrible, brushless car wash system! It costs $ 12.00 for their «the whole work» car wash, but it cleans practically nothing. What a waste of money! I have been there many times, and the last one was a couple days ago, which will be my last one, unless they fix the system. I hope the management is reading my comments.

Be prepared to lose your money and time. They charge double for poor service. Lots of cars in the garage cuz good location, but you will regret it after all.
Look at the reviews. Unbelievably good stars from the employees and their friends (who might get free services) and really bad grades from actual customers.

Great, honest, quick staff. Did not feel pressured ever and felt like I was in good hands the whole time.

I received very poor customer service. The guy in charge was very unhelpful in answering my questions about the services he recommends. This is one of those places where it seems they recommend services readily to the unknowing. Good luck if you choose this place. You will need it.

Al Treadway (treadway, holy moley as in tire treads, couldn’t have a more perfect name for the job) is above and beyond any mechanic I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He has pampered my old «new» beetle to death, everytime I fear my car is on its last gasp, Al reassures me it will be okay. He has never tried to sell me something I didn’t really need. My ABS light stays on now, and he said that expensive fix wasn’t needed because my brakes still work. He and the rest of the crew are careful with my beloved car, and I couldn’t be more impressed. I’ve been coming to Schmitz for about six years now, and I’ll keep coming there til either my car dies or I do! lol. Worthy note: Jeremy is great to talk to and has a fabulous attitude. I hope the owner’s son, Eric reads this review. You have some good people there, keep them happy and give Al and Jeremy a raise! :)

It is a gas station, so no complaints about the gas. The people are friendly and the convenience store portion of the shop is pretty big. My gripe is with the car wash. I’ve driven up and down the east coast lately and my car was showing the grime. I filled up with fuel and bought the most expensive car wash… and it did nothing but smear the grime around. I have a bigger mess now than before going in.

Great service once again. I had a tire leaking air pretty bad. I was able to get a quick appointment next day. My car was jacked and checked immediately. The mechanic Freddie found a nail in my tire, and plugged it for $ 20. Best part, nobody tried to up sell me anything, or waste my time.

Employees are super friendly and they didn’t overcharge me for service. I usually dread taking my car in for service because service center employees tend to be so unfriendly. The guys at Schmitz, on the other hand, give great customer service. I won’t hesitate to bring my car back here next time it needs service!

These guys are awesome! Great customer service and fast! This place is kinda pricey though, but you get what you pay for, and its worth it!

I’ve always had great experiences with Schmittz. They are extremely knowledgable, fair, and honest. When I had car problems that my dealership couldn’t resolve, my first stop was Schmittz, and they immediately determined the cause of the issue and fixed it at a reasonable price. I’m hesitant to let anyone else touch my car, these guys are the best!

So I went in to get an oil change. I always go to the dealership to get my oil changed but since it was just around the corner for work, I decided to drop my car off. I was shocked to see they charged me twice the price for an oil change. what I usually pay at the dealer (around $ 35) they ended up charging me 60 something and told me its cause my car needed premium oil!!! OK!
The customer service was not that great, I had to call to check up on my car! They would not even give me an estimates on how much my brakes would cost until they saw my car! Which is kinda ridiculous, since every car dealer will give you at least an estimate based on the car you have!
I am not going back here again, I rather take my car to the dealer!!!

If I could give these guys 10 stars I would! Good, honest place with great customer service. I’ve been going here since April 2014 when Jerry’s Ford told me I should just scrap my car since it would cost between $ 4k-​$ 7k…was feeling nauseous because I didn’t want a car note. A friend recommended Schmitz and I figured I would get a second opinion because really… what did I have to lose. They fixed my baby for 500 bucks total!
Brought my baby to them yesterday and really was pressed for time because I needed to be in Bethesda at 4pm. I dropped her off at 9am and I got the call she was ready at 1:43pm. Jeremy is AWESOME and although he made it known they couldn’t promise a time and said it would probably be closer to 3pm they exceeded my expectations. And I give him kudos because I know I was nagging a bit about the time but he never showed his annoyance. The great thing is that when he gave me my total I never felt the need to scrutinize the bill, ask questions about certain charges or anything because I know at Schmitz I don’t have that issue. I do not care that it isn’t exactly convenient to come out here from Alexandria, I’m coming — even for routine oil changes. Peace of mind is PRICELESS. I know that in their hands I don’t have to worry about one single thing or if they are trying to milk me for every penny I have.
I see a few negative comments, I have no idea how they are disgruntled. They may just be miserable people anyway. Just saying.

The station is conveniently located where I run around. I prefer a quick in/​out and I accomplish that every visit.

I’ve been going to Koons Toyota to get my car maintenance and repairs for years. On my 40K maintenance I was told that I have to replace my battery, engine drive belt and adjust my rear brakes which would cost $ 460. It didn’t feel right so I decided to have these 3 things done by Schmitz Exxon because I would save around $ 150. So, I left my car and 30 mins later I got a call and was told that my battery, engine drive belt and rear brakes are in good condition and it would be dishonest for them to replace them just like that. From now on, I will go with Schmitz Exxon Service and I believe that Koons Toyota has been using scare tactics for years to get customers to replace parts too early.

Went for brake job oil chance and inspection. Next day found out there was a screw in my tire which could have been picked up anywhere. Went back to get the flat fixed and they fixed it for free. I love this place and have been going since 2005. You see a couple bad reviews, but you know no business is perfect. It’s consistency that builds a solid happy customer base. Enough said.

Schmitz Exxon is the best shop to take your vehicle to in the area. Al and the rest of his team are honest and professional. They have the best customer service possible! You will be glad you took your vehicle to Schmitz.

I did the VA safety inspection and emission test there. It has very wide range of open hours, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. I dropped the car there in 8:30 am and there were several cars in front of me, I told them I would pick up the car later. 2 hour later they called me saying that the car was ready. Acceptable speed. And the guys there are very friendly. Love this place.

Let’s just say I’ve been going to Schmitz for all my auto issues for fifteen years.
In all that time they’ve done things for me I would not imagine a service station could do, all the way up to and including changing an engine.
I have never, ever been unhappy with their service, and Al and Jeremy and the others seem as concerned as I am that their repairs be done right but as economically as possible.
These guys, as far as I’m concerned, are even better than Click and Clack!

Poor customer service. 5 hours left my car for alignment and not done and end up taking it somewhere else and plus the attitude of the emplyees. NEVER AGAIN.

Conveniently located for gas and probably fine for oil changes.
My car had a bit of a repair emergency and the shop was pretty close to my office, so I was happy to give it a try. Al told me it would take a day to get the part and then possibly one more day to do the repair. I rented a car because I need something to drive.
I called on a Saturday afternoon fully expecting my car to be ready to go and was told it wouldn’t be done until Monday. They knew I was renting. That meant TWO extra days of car rental for me! And I should not have had to call them. My car was done on Monday and it worked, so I guess that’s something.
When my car was ready they also told me that my ignition coil would need replacing soon, and that I should take care of that before it damages something else.
The following weekend I took my car to another repair shop — one certified for my type of car. They told me that the ignition coil was solid state and that it either works or doesn’t, there is no «needs replacing because it’s going to go soon.» They said the wires may be a little corroded, but that’s fixed by cleaning the wires, not replacing the ignition coil. They even quoted me a better price if I was going to replace it.
I should have gone to the other shop in the first place. But, hey, my car works. Jeremy was nice to talk to, but Al was handling my car. Maybe Jeremy would have been better? Overall, I’ve experienced better.
