Perfect Honeymoons & Holidays Travel

My wife and I used Perfect Honeymoons over the summer for a trip to Greece after a recommendation from some friends. We thought it would be great to have some help planning our trip at the time because we were too busy planning our wedding to deal with it. We were wrong. The experience was terrible. We thought we could trust Jim and thought he would get to know us and then make recommendations and arrangements to meet our needs. Instead of being helpful Jim tried to box us into a cookie cutter trip that involved traveling with and staying with «friends» of his organization. I am not exactly sure how the business works but it sure seemed like he was getting substantial kickbacks from the services he booked for us. Just try to inquire about traveling to or staying in any of the places that are not on his list. He allowed us travel to only three island choices in all of Greece: Mykonos, Crete or Santorini. While Santorini was clearly on our list the others were not necessarily. When friends suggested we go to Naxos and we inquired about this possibility Jim failed to answer us for two months and then said that he somehow «lost» or email. When, after some negotiating and agreeing to spend some time in Mykonos he finally agreed to this deviation from his cookie cutter itinerary, he failed to book our flights for over a week and then called us back to say the flights were now 30% more than we had originally discussed. We were so upset we considered cancelling the whole trip. To his credit Jim agreed to cover the difference in flights since it was his mistake. We ended up not much enjoying our stay in Mykonos as we had feared (we stayed on a small beach far from town overpopulated by nude men in an overpriced hotel with poor service in a room next to the loud laundry).Overall though we still enjoyed the rest of our trip, but Jim gave us very little advice and contrary to what he previously suggested, he never helped us book any activities nor suggested any. We would have appreciated if he took a greater interest in us. We would have been willing to pay more money. We just wanted to understand that were getting something in return instead of feeling like he was somehow constantly trying to rip us off rather than working with us. I would avoid this travel agent particularly if you are traveling to Europe for your honeymoon. You can do a lot better with someone else or by just booking the trip on your own.

Jim did a great job helping my wife and I plan our honeymoon in Tahiti! The personal touch and presidential treatment at the St. Regis was incredible, and I’d highly recommend you don’t try and plan a trip like this on your own. There are too many nuances that you need an expert for, and Jim is your man. All you need to do is tell him your budget and what you’re looking for, and he’ll design the perfect honeymoon for you!

Perfect Honeymoons and Holidays planned and arranged the honeymoon of our dreams. Working with Jim Augerinos was a terrific experience from start to finish. It all started with the questionnaires that we completed prior to our initial consultation. Jim took everything into account… our own individual preferences regarding desired activities (or lack of!), previous travel experiences, budget, etc. to help start the discussion. After some decisions on our end, Jim created a trip proposal that was tailored to us in every way. Travel day came and armed with the two, 10+ page documents that Jim provided us with, which had full descriptions of each of the islands and «things to do and see» (our honeymoon would take us to two islands), every detail was planned meticulously and all of our travels and arrangements went off without a hitch. The honeymoon was better than we could have imagined… from the accommodations, the recommendations for activities, and restaurants, everything was nothing short of amazing. Though it was of course not guaranteed, Jim was able to work some magic and secure us upgrades at the hotels on both islands. We were so happy with the experience that we have been referring friends and family… the funny thing is that three other couples we know getting married this year are already using him! We will always thank Jim and Perfect Honeymoons and Holidays for making our honeymoon a truly once in a lifetime experience.

Jim booked us a Costa Rica trip in 2009 (better late than never) and we couldn’t have been happier. He took the time to listen to our wants and recommended a great 9 day getaway. Everything was so smooth and the travel between cities was a piece of cake.

We picked Perfect Honeymoons to help us with our honeymoon and it was one of the best decisions we could have made! There we so many things that made working with Jim such a pleasure. Our honeymoon was over two weeks and involved a considerable amount of travel and lodging changes. Jim knows all the best places to stay (based on his actual experience instead of who has paid him), and has great insight into how to set up the trip for the best time. After your initial meeting he presents you with a variety of hotel/​itinerary options for you to choose from. Once you decide on places and hotel options, he prepares a formal package. He provides full support on your trip if something does come up.
I don’t know why someone would even consider planning their honeymoon themselves; he saves you time and money, provides insight into the best areas to go to, and serves as a support team to help fix any logistical/​other issues that may come up while on the trip. Oh and by the way he does all this for practically nothing!!!

Sure, some might think that anybody can just read a «Top Ten» islands magazine to find the best place, but this is so much better. Let me explain.
First, he has personally been to each of these places. And by sending frequent customers to certain top spots, the resorts are far more likely to give a double upgrade, vs having to ask for a favor as a one time trip goer. We did get one of those upgrades for free and it was amazing. We couldn’t have gotten it ourselves.
Secondly he knows the details of Hurricane season and small details you won’t get in Travel and Leisure. Sure if I did it myself, maybe I would find some deal, or a Groupon, but then find out later it was on sale due to some monsoon season. Is it worth it? Worth the headache and the chance for messing up?
I don’t think so.
I will use him after each time I get married! Just kidding. But we have used him for other more formal getaways as well as our honeymoon.

Jim did our honeymoon for us in 2007. (I know…“you’re just writing this review NOW?”) So yes it’s late but the best things…
He was introduced to us by some friends whose honeymoon he planned. We also wanted to go to a warm place, and after batting a few ideas around with Jim, we settled on Hawaii. He explained our options, and really helped us draw up a vacation that was all parts what we wanted. One week of doing nothing, one week of fun and one week of more modern comforts.
He knew the areas of both the big island and Maui like the back of his hand, and was overflowing with recommendations. The price was not cheap, but it was reasonable for the amount of time we were going. AND, he surprised us with a gift in the room upon our arrival.
He answered all the (what felt like a million) questions we had, and prepared us right up to the last minute. We had such a good experience with Jim that we’d absolutely use him again. In fact, he also planned my sister’s honeymoon, and I’ve referred Jim to at least 20 people. Even if not for a honeymoon, Jim is the guy you want to know. Top notch all the way.

Jim was absolutely fantastic. He sat down with us and got to know us and gave us several options of different honeymoons we could take. They were all so wonderful we had a hard time choosing (and we had to decide we’ll just take the others as other trips like a babymoon). The actual trip (to Belize) was fantastic. The hotels he booked were amazing, flight was smooth, and all other travel arrangements went smoother than we could’ve asked for. He was friendly, helpful, and always willing to answer our questions and got back to us with answers in a reasonable time. We can’t wait for our next trip (and we’ve already recommended him to several of our friends)!

Jim was extremely helpful in helping us get exactly the honeymoon we wanted. He asked good questions and then listened as we described what kind of experience we wanted. He gave us options and then worked with us to fine tune our choices into a smooth and very satisfying travel experience.

We worked with Jim two years ago to plan our honeymoon to Anguilla and were so happy with his services that we recently planned another vacation to St. Lucia. Prior to the vacations, he took the time to answer all of our questions and was very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful.
Being an accountant, I can be a stickler about numbers and budgets, so in planning the second vacation, I was initially set on a certain budget, which he did end up pushing a little, and I am so glad he did! I feel that Jim knew enough about our preferences that he was not about to send us on a «so-​so» vacation just to get us within budget. Once we were on the vacation, we saw the value in the entire vacation, and were so happy with our decision!
We have had two fabulous vacations, thanks to him, and really saw the added benefit of booking through him. I think he did a really good job matching our preferences and planning our vacation from start to finish. He makes planning a vacation very stress-​free. We were so happy with both destinations; the accommodations exceeded our expectations, and we had so much fun! I would definitely recommend his services to others, and plan on using him again in the future.

Jim… you did it again! Jim and his team are nothing short of AMAZING! I can be a harsh critic, but I have been impressed with him throughout the entire process. I must have said «wow» (and some other more colorful words) at least once a day on both trips based on their exceptional customer service. You pick up a package and everything is complete and booked.
He takes time to answer all of my MANY questions and is straight forward. I know they must be busy, but I truly felt like I was their one and only client and they never made me feel like a burden, nor did they ever make excuses for anything. They just got the job done!
We can not rave enough about Jim and the trips he puts together. He put together the most perfect trip for us 5 years ago to Bora Bora, Tahiti and Moorea. Everything was done perfectly and top notch. Not a glitch and if upgrades were available we got them! Dinners were perfect, hotels amazing and it was a trip of a lifetime. My husband contacted him for our 5 year anniversary trip to Napa… as a surprise… and, he did it again! We are just returning and it was perfect. Something waiting in the room, perfect food, perfect accommodations. Everyone knew it was our anniversary, everytime I turned around I was shocked and found myself smiling! I never knew going to Napa could be so perfect, I am ready to start planning the next trip. We sure wont be waiting 5 years again! Thank you so much for making our anniversary and honeymoon the most stress-​free and enjoyable event of our lives! All we had to do was pack our bags and show up — every little detail was thought of and taken care of. We will definitely use Jim and Perfect Honeymoons & Holidays again, and recommend his services to anyone looking to spend a romantic holiday with a special someone! As good as it gets… This has been a refreshing experience, although they have set a high bar for customer service, so it will be a wake-​up call working with people in the real world again. When the right people find the right career path and are truly dedicated to it, the results so obviously surpass what you normally witness on a daily basis. I guess that’s what is referred to as being exceptional, and Jim and his team definitely exceeded the norm.

We met Jim at a Washingtonian event and scheduled a meeting with him several months later, prior to our wedding. Jim’s sales tactics were similar to a used car salesman. He initially told us a honeymoon to Greece would be between 6000 – 7000 and after I advised him that 6000 was the top of our budget, he then said we would be hard pressed to have a honeymoon vacation in Greece without spending an additional 2000 beyond the 6000 he previously quoted, a complete contradiction. We found him to be offputting and insulting, as he pretty much insinuated that I was cheap after I told him we wanted to find a good value for our honeymoon. It was obvious he’s focused on providing service to those people who are not working within any budget. A more mature sales person would have handled their potential clients more professionally.

We chose this agency because of it’s high ratings and proximity to where we live. I first contacted them to plan our italian honeymoon 7 months ago and was told it was too early, come back. Offputting, but we requested a meeting in person a few months later. The meeting in the office was fantastic but that is about where the fantastic ended. We walked in the door with a pretty strict but realistic budget. Jim mentioned we may have to raise it to get the trip we wanted, but mentioned he’d do his best and could get an itineary put together in three days.
Weeks and weeks went by with me sending an occasional reminder message with no itinerary. I understand he has other clients and he isn’t going to be as excited about my honeymoon as I am, but he shouldn’t have made promises he had no intention to keep.
We still had plenty of time so we were trying to stick with it. We finally got an itinerary after 6 weeks. It was within the budget he told us we’d have to stretch to (but was $ 3K over ours). For a once in a lifetime trip, we could figure out how to stretch. With excitement I started to google the hotels that he chose. EVERY hotel for the trip was 5 stars. Now, if money was not an issue I would not complain about this at all. But two days after putting on a vineyard party for over 100 of our closest friends and family is not an ideal time. We dont want to go to Italy and just admire the wallpaper. If we have to have a higher budget we’d rather spend it on tickets to see something or an upgrade to the rental car or something, really enjoy our trip.
I asked Jim to make some adjustments to the itinerary, and more and more weeks went by. We requested another meeting in person to push the issue. At this meeting we all agreed to the tweaks. However, Jim now told us that one of the hotels and the rental car weren’t included in the price (which was still an imaginary number we didn’t know). These two items have a potential to add at least $ 1K to the budget so we were kind of shocked, but eye on the prize we wrote a check for half the trip as a deposit… a different and higher ammount he had told us we would need to put down in earlier communications.
I should have stopped the press several times in this process, but with all of the other wedding planning issues I am dealing with I just didn’t have the energy to fight this one. I thought for sure that with actual money down we would get a finalized itinary and price since after 7 months of shenanigans we are now much closer to our travel date.
Again, we wait. With each passing week I kept getting more and more angry about all of the past issues we and just requested our deposit back. For a man I had to beg to do anything, he responded almost immediately with our check. Interesting, but we’re happy to get our money back.
We travel internationally on our own regularly but for this important of a trip we though we could use some help. We gave him plenty of time, and our budget was tight but totally realistic. If there was some method to the madness I would have appreciated just being told so to save everyone time and headache.

Jim Augerinos and Perfect Honeymoons are the best of the best in destination travel. I have worked with Jim a few times over the past several years and EVERY TIME he plans a trip for us, it is perfect! We just returned from a dream destination wedding in Anguilla, followed by our honeymoon in St Barts. Perfect Honeymoons was part of it all. Jim helped us plan an amazing wedding… negiotiating a great room rate for us and assisting all of our guests with travel and accomodations. Evereyone had rave reviews of Jim’s support during their travel planning.
Our honeymoon in St Barts was PERFECT! We were treated like royalty when we arrived at Eden Rock and even had a bottle of wine and some snacks delivered to our room upon arrival.
One of the BEST things about Jim is the recommendations of restaurants and things to do while on your vacation. Every single restaurant is exactly as he describes… and we ALWAYS try to do the activties he suggests. While in St Barts, Jim recommended that we use our rental car and explore all the beaches on the island. We did that and it was BY FAR the best part of our trip. I even reached out to himj dircetly one night from St Barts because we could not decide between two restaurants for our last night there. He responded quickly with some great advice which was exactly what we needed.
Jim takes the time to understand what you are looking for in a dream vacation and makes recommendations to fit that. He is THE MAN!

This was the first time my husband and I used a travel agent to book a vacation and we were very glad we did! Jim booked our trip to Venice, Florence, Rome, Athens, and Santorini and did a fantastic job of selecting hotels, making travel arrangements, and recommending restaurants and things to do. He ensured our vacation was stress free and fabulous! It was the trip of a lifetime! We will be returning to Jim to book future travel.

Jim helped book our honeymoon and I must admit it was easy and everything was spelled out for us. We went to Moorea and Bora Bora. We stayed at The Intercontinental in Moorea and Four Seasons in Bora Bora. Moorea was amazing… When we arrived we got treated like a king and queen. Also we got upgraded to a over water bungalow for a wonderful price. We swam with the dolphins which was super cool and the Atv tour is a must do! Four Seasons is breathtaking!!! It was my birthday, and everyone at the Four Seasons said Happy Birthday to me! Even the maids! We had an over water bungalow and they came to give us raw fish and bread to feed the fish every night! Amazing service… I loved my honeymoon and will go with Jim again!!!

Working with Jim to plan our honeymoon was without a doubt the key to why we had such an amazing time! He made it so easy for us, considering we were very indecisive with where we wanted to go. He did a brief interview with us both then put together 3 itineraries to different destinations.
In the end we chose the trip to Moorea and Bora Bora. Both hotels (Hilton Moorea and St. Regis Bora Bora) were amazing and exactly what Jim said they would be. He even found a Groupon that got us $ 1,000 OFF OUR TRIP!!! As well as two $ 500 excursions for free. I could not imagine what it would have been like if we didn’t have Jim to help us plan our trip. He was so knowledgeable about all of the destinations and resorts since he has been there himself.
Before we left for French Polynesia he gave us a nice travel book for all of our docs and itineraries as well as a list of tips and must do’s/don’ts for each destination. I would def recommend Perfect Honeymoons to anyone and will be using their services again for future travel.

Our room was astounding, the service impeccable, the scenery perfection. Over all our honeymoon was the greatest vacation we have very had!!!
