I went to this place to buy my Fiancé her engagement ring and was helped by Anh. I was seen as soon as I entered the shop. I had gone in with minimal knowledge about what i exactly I wanted but that was not an issue. Anh had basically given me all the knowledge i needed to make a decision on the perfect ring.
They first asked for my price range and went over the all important 4 C’s. After they had that, they were able to suggest diamonds in that range. I was able to see all the options as well as inspect each diamond under a microscope. Since it was a big decision, I took my time looking and Anh was very patient the whole time.
As well as having great customer service, they will also match any price for a solitary diamond found online from a different store. Over the following weeks after my visit, I had emailed Anh ideas about different diamonds I was interested in and Anh helped me figure out what was the best for me. I had my own idea for a custom ring and they were willing to work with me to create it and even in Rose Gold.
Overall, I would highly recommend anyone who is looking to purchase a wedding/​engagement ring to come to May Jewelers. They really work with you in the whole process and make sure that you are getting the ring that you want. They made the whole process much easier than I had ever imagined.

Went to get my engagement ring sized. Met with Jaime who showed me different sizes. A lot of people were in the store but he was patient waiting on me. We decided the size and he said I could come back to pick it up in 2 hours and that it would cost $ 60! I was thrilled. I did a few errands and picked it up exactly two hours later and he had it all ready for me. I will come back this week to get a bracelet sized too. I highly recommend May Jewelers!

Prior to stumbling across this site, I had done what I thought was reasonably thorough consumer research on rings and stones. I had found several specialist sites and dealers discussing the specific type of stone I was seeking, and had a sense of prices, common issues, questions to ask, etc.

I wanted to contribute a review back to the community, so I”m posting about my recent purchase from May Jewelers. They are a brick and mortar store in Tysons Corner, VA. I have not seen many mentions of May on this site or others, and I had a really good experience buying wedding bands and an engagement ring from them.
I visited several B&M stores in the D.C. area, and walked into May sort of on accident as they were across from Tiffany”s. I am a fairly deliberate and careful purchaser and visited their store maybe five times, and I also visited around ten other stores in the area. I am not affiliated with anyone in the industry in any way — the following is just my honest opinion as an newbie consumer.
May seems to be a family run store. The only people I”ve seen behind the counter dealing with customers are the the two owners, John and Vincent and their friends. Many of the people I saw in the store seemed to be repeat customers. They have a lot of Asian and Indian-​style jewelry, which is really cool to look at. They also have «western» style jewelry — the mix seemed to be about ⁵⁰⁄₅₀.
John and Vincent were both fantastic to work with. I am a suspicious person and started with the view that most jewelry salespeople are in the same category as used car salesmen. John and Vincent earned my trust. They were careful, efficient, and did not try to sell me anything I didn”t want. They provided candid judgments about what they thought might and might not work in terms of metals, styles, and stones. They were also very forthright about pricing and made a number of suggestions which helped me come in under budget.
Of the places I visited, May certainly had the best prices for what I was looking for. In my opinion, they also had the most careful and thoughtful service. They were extremely flexible during the whole process, and when I had finally decided they were able to mount the stone in a few hours. Prior to mounting, stone we was appraised by one of the appraisers recommended here on Pricescope. The appraiser”s judgment was very positive and the stone appraised at considerably higher than the sales price. The sales price was apparently substantially closer to «wholesale» than «retail» prince bands. This surprised and impressed me, though I have noticed that several other Pricescope reports have noted similar disparities between actual sales price and appraisal price. For what it is worth, I was not able to find lower pricing in any of the internet stores I searched.
Bottom line: I was deeply impressed by May Jewelers. I did not expect that level of honesty, care, or efficiency. I certainly did not expect such a good price on the bands or the stone. I definitely recommend taking the time to look at multiple stores and feel fortunate that I came across May.

I worked with Anh and I can’t say enough about my experience with May’s. They are very upfront with you and really work to give you the best deal. If they don’t have what you want they will work with you in getting it. I did a little shopping around and numerous jewelers told me to take what they were offering because the deal was so good. Very clean shop and the owners make it a personal experience, treating you like a friend and not just a customer. Highly recommend!

I’ve looked at a lot of Jewelers in the area and May came in on top. They have prices that beat Blue Nile and their staff is very friendly. Anh worked with my specific request and got the exact ring I wanted– just as the photos that I showed. Turn-​around was quick. Overall I was more than happy with the experience and customer service.

THE BEST IN TOWN ! My fiancé and I had such as pleasure experience at May Jewelers. Their staffs are so friendly and helpful, especially John and Vicki. Vincent even gave advices on proposal ideas to make it special for us.
Their prices are amazing. My fiancé went to many different jewelers, but none of them have such large unique selections at amazing prices as May Jeweler.

John, President of May Jewelers, will make you feel like a Queen. They appear to have the best prices on diamonds and a nice selection of rings and earrings. I had a custom ring made and it was identical to the picture. I highly recommend.

I had an A+ experience with May Jewelers. I was in the market for an engagement ring and my friend had highly recommended May Jewelers. I couldn’t have imagined a better experience. Anh was very knowledgeable and friendly to work with. She never rushed me and answered all my questions thoroughly. Their prices were competitive compared to other places I had shopped at (including online). I can’t rave enough about the costumer service. Anh made sure I was I confident about the purchase, helped expedite the shipping for me, and helped make all the necessary ring sizing and setting adjustments until my fiancé was happy with the ring. I’ve been holding off on writing a review because I didn’t want my fiancé to find out, but the cat is out of the bag now. My brother and good friends of mine used this jeweler so I thought I’d give it a shot as well. I’m glad I did because they have an excellent variety of GIA certified diamonds as well as settings to choose from. John and Vicky provided excellent service. Vicky spent several hours showing me diamonds and educating me on the different properties as well as making recommendations. John even let me take the diamond out of the store and into the sunlight to get a better look. Their prices are very competitive; even the Diamond Exchange in Bethesda has a difficult time matching their prices. I highly recommend using this jeweler! We will be going back for our wedding bands.

I had a very good experience with May Jewelers in selecting our engagement ring. Vicky Lemus was by far the best and she went above and beyond whats necessary to make our experience memorable. She was very knowledgable and they had a great selection. Most importantly she was very patient even though we had multiple visits. This is crucial for making such a big purchase. One last comment (regarding price). These guys are extremely reasonable and definitely cheaper than bluenile and numerous other online vendors. Most importantly you can physically look at the diamond before making a decision. In short ask for Vicky Lemus.

If you look up the definition of customer service, May Jewelers is what you would see. Their staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. They never give a sense of being pushy, and are never motivated to make a sale… just to make a sale. Their only goal is to help you find what is right for you. May Jewelers made my engagement ring purchase very easy. Vicky Lemus was great in giving me a full understanding of the different type of cuts, color and clarity. I was able to choose a vintage looking ring that gave me the best value for my money. Vicky was very patient and provided me full understanding of what I was getting. I had the pleasure of going to May Jewelers for an engagement ring purchase, which could not have been easier working with Anh and John. They were very professional and very knowledgable. the staff did a great job at making me feel like my purchase was as important to them as it was for me. they worked with me in selecting the diamond from their extensive collection, all GIA certs provided. i had a custom design i sketched out and they turned it into a reality. The fitting was done in-​house, which was way better than the mass-​market jewelry places that send off the rings to be sized. The turnaround was a matter of hours (not weeks), which we appreciated a lot.
