They were recommended to me by a man who restores antique cars. I filled out the request estimate form on their website, but they never bothered to contact me. I waited several weeks, no reply. I checked their website, no answer to my post. Very rude. Pretty damn poor customer service. I’ve heard they only like big expensive jobs and will ignore any others. I guess that’s true. I’ll take my business elsewhere and recommend others do the same.
UPDATE: They responded in November and I may get an appointment for an estimate.

Lim’s in Tysons did a great job repairing the leather on the front driver’s seat of our Ford Expedition. Don’t have anything to judge by, but the price seemed reasonable and the craftsmanship was excellent. They called to let me know my vehicle was ready ahead of schedule. I would use them again in the future.

The headliner of my 2004 Jetta GLI was all broken and hanging from the sides. After checking a few estimates and reviews I decided to take it to Lim’s. The results are great. It looks like new. Even though they said the color wouldn’t be an exact match, I cannot even notice the difference (mine had a light gray). Moreover, the total cost was a bit below the estimate they gave me over the phone and they finished the job the same day. The shop is close to The metro station which also makes it more convenient. Overall great job, very happy with the results!

This place is amazing! We e-​mailed them on Sunday, they called on Monday around 12 noon to set up an appointment for the next day, and we got a new top on our Audi S4 convertible in ONE DAY! What??? Amazing! Wonderful service, honest business owner and staff, excellent, unbeatable price! And they called both numbers that we provided as soon as it was ready. This is a high quality top with excellent insulation and reduced road noise.

While I wasn’t able to take my car in on the exact day that I wanted to, for the quality of the auto-​detailing I received, it was no problem. The shop is a little tricky to get to, as it is behind the shops you can see from Tyco road.
I took my VW Jetta in for a headliner replacement. My headliner was sagging by the interior lights and almost ‘shrinking’ where it would come in contact with the windows in my car.
When I dropped off my Jetta I could see that there were maybe 3 other Jettas just like mine coming in for the same service. I was told the color of fabric they would use would be a close match– not exact– but honestly I cannot tell the difference. And I am a very particular person. I was able to pick my car up two days after I dropped it off and it has been great ever since!
As for price, it was under the estimate that I was told, which was a nice surprise :)

Fixed the panel on my Ford Escape rear drivers side door for only $ 58 and within a half hour of when I arrived. It looks great! I will come back here again for upholstery issues. And thank Koons Ford for recommending them.

Was considering buying a car from craigslist that had a ripped leather driver seat. Found these guys on Unilocal and called for an estimate. John asked for a picture of the damage so he can give me an honest estimate which was the best one I heard out of the shops I called. After buying the car I left it at the shop, they told me that it was going to take a day. ** The other reviews were right about them not calling customers back. I had to call them in the late afternoon for a status update when they told me it was ready. The car might have been ready to go in the morning ** Went back to the shop and was amazed at the job they did. 2 panel replacement and restitch on the bottom cushion looked flawless. On top of that they charged me 13% less then the original estimate. I will definitely be coming back and would gladly recommend Lim’s to anybody.

Very poor service. I brought my classic mustang to these folks based on the high reviews. I needed to get the weatherstripping fixed (it had some small leaks). My car sat in their lot for a few days… nobody called. I called to inquire about the status and they said they were busy, and to come pick the car up they were not going to fix it. Nice, right? I drove 40 miles from MD to their shop… wife following in SUV… to drop off, and the same to pick up… total lack of customer service. These guys are just focused on the BIG TICKET fixes. If you have a small type problem, they want nothing to do with you. Also, communication is VERY challenging, as they are Asian, and it is clear this is their first language. HUGE waste of time and money for me. The owner simply handed me my keys when I arrived to pick up my car, then turned his back and went back in the garage to work. Real cocky… Go at your own risk.

Made an appt for my classic car to fix the convertible top from leaking. Promised one day turnaround but didn’t hear from them for days, only to call and find out they decided they didn’t want to deal with it and weren’t even going to try to fix it. Big attitudes, zero customer service.

Excellent experience and fair price. I have a 2001 BMW E46 M3 convertible. The plastic rear side flaps cracked and tore the headliner on both sides. I believe this is called Convertible Top C-​Pillar Repair. This is a fairly common failure on this model. They replaced the damaged parts and did an excellent job stitching the torn headliner, which was otherwise not in need of replacement.

$ 400 to replace headliner in 1998 BMW 7 series.
Middle age has reached my big bimmer as it began sagging it’s headliner a few weeks ago. I put off the repair until it became too embarrassing to endure.
My son’s Saab was in the shop at AutoScandia in Herndon so I asked for a recommendation. They suggested Lims.
I fought the traffic to Tyson’s Corner and found Lim’s at the back of an industrial plaza. There was an older Porche and newer 350Z in the shop when I arrived. Mr Lim took a quick look at my saggy headliner and quoted me $ 385. I later asked him to fix one other item and he only added $ 15 to the bill. Very fair.
The replacement was delivered on schedule and on price. Who could ask for more?
I am very pleased with the service and will return there soon to get my leather wrapped steering wheel replaced.

I recently had Katzkin Leather, heated seats, and Liquicells installed in my Toyota Highlander with three rows of seats by Lims Custom Top & Upholstery at their SHOP IN CHANTILLY, VA and was extremely pleased with the customer service and the quality of workmanship. They completed the job within 24 hours and it looks amazing! I looked for a shop to do this install for a few months before deciding on Lims and am very picky about my cars. I called around to at least 5 other shops in the DC Metro area and Lims was the only place to answer their phone professionally, treat me with respect, and show a genuine interest in getting my business. On top of all of that, they had the best prices by far out of anyone else in the area. I highly recommend this shop and the people that work there. I will definitely use them again in the future with no hesitation and will recommend them to everyone I meet!

Lim’s Custom Top & Upholstery is probably the best place in NoVA to have repair done to your convertible top. I’ve been going to John Yoon at Lim’s for a few years, and have never been disappointed at the fine craftsmanship and work or his prices (which are excellent). I recently had the convertible top replaced on my S2000 and I was very pleased with the work.

The only reason this is not five stars is that I have no base of comparison, but for sure it fits the «YAY! I’m a fan.»
Lim’s replaced the top on my 95 VW Cabrio and it is beautiful again. I found out about them because the guys at the dealer whispered to me that I would get a much better deal over there, then if I ordered from VW. I checked a couple other places that were suggested to me and they were definitely the best price.
Just recently the new top started to pull away from the back window. When I took it over for them to look at they fixed it right away with no charge at all.
I love these guys! Mr. Yoon rocks. They are friendly and quick and don’t mind that I always have a thousand questions. If you need a new top or new upholsery for your car give them a call.
