I like to try weird and new food any time I’m out of town. Sadly, the mates I was with are culturally challenged, lol. We opted for a burger joint, but compromised and picked one we all have never heard of. We also picked Freddy’s so we could make jokes about the game Five Nights at Feddy’s. Freddy’s was surprisingly good! Mainly the french fries are great, and the custard is awesome. The burgers was a bit small, but tasted great, patty reminded me of In-n-Out a bit. The hot dog was pretty darn good too. Better than the burger. Sure, we just spent 8 hours in the dessert running around with 30 lbs. of gear on in 95* weather, but I’m sure it would be good even if I just ate 2 meals. I’ll definitely eat at Freddy’s again when I’m in this area.

I could sit and eat these meat parties and the custard icecream all day everyday. I mean the burgers are so soft and warm. The fries are salted just perfectly. Glad there are in the hi desert

This place is amazing! I have to stop here whenever I’m coming home from Vegas. The burgers are so delicious my favorite is the California burger. I live the fry sauce for the fries, and the desserts, omg they are incredible! Many options on desserts. Only down fall is that it’s so far from my home(Los Angeles, about 2 hour drive). I would be here everyday if it was closer

I drove here from SW Hesperia to get some custard because I had a bad headache and cold custard always helps. I chose this place because they have a drive-thru, and I was ill, unable to get out of the car. Wouldn’t you know it, my order was not complete and I was forced to go inside and get the rest of my order. There was no apology. There was something wrong with the teenager who took my order. He didn’t seem to understand a word I said and I speak English. I had to constantly repeat myself while he stood there smurking at me. I did not see any manager, or grown up in the restaurant. i would advise the owner of this place to have an adult manager on site at all times with these teenagers working here. I am also unhappy that I did not get a pickle on my cheeseburger.

Another great place that is a must try. The staff seems friendly. The interior is pretty nice if you’re going to eat inside, but sadly i have never tried their custard yet :( The burgers are great though, and you may leave either disappointed or wanting more.

Was staying in Victorville for work and decided to check this place out since it had such great reviews. Tried the Double California Burger with grilled onions and their fries. Pretty solid overall. The steak burger is noticeably better quality than your average fast food burger. It’s probably comparable to In-N-Out as far as burger quality goes, but I still prefer a Double Double by a slim margin. I liked the fries which were thin cut and extra addictive when you add that reddish salt seasoning. Not sure if that’s only available for dine-in or if you can get it with your to go order. Also tried the chili bowl which wasn’t bad. The chill is similar to Wienerschnitzel chili. Maybe a tad salty. Overall, it was a nice experience but I probably won’t be back any time soon.

I had the patty melt, and it was great. I personally love skinny fries. Out of all the fry types, skinny are the best in my opinion. And these guys have great skinny fries. Fast service, but to be expected for a fast food joint. Honestly no real complaints from me. I was too full to get a custard that everyone raves about, but next time I’m up there, I will definitely try it. And the portion size was just right for me. And the price is good.

Nasty. How does this place stay in business? Burgers where flat and tasteless. The fries are so over cooked and thin so they break into little pieces. The onion rings are cut really thin and in some kind of batter that I was not thrilled about. I know pickles are generally salty but these Fried Pickles were so salty they weren’t edible. Yuck. The vanilla frozen custard was ok but I won’t be back. I’m not a huge In & Out fan but there’s one just a block further south.

We have to stop here either on our way to Vegas or on our way back to L.A. The steak burgers are awesome! The custard is amazing! I ended up buying a bottle of sauce and a bottle of seasoning. They need to have a location closer to 310!

Per Jeannie C. and Dru C.‘s recommendations, we decided to make a pit stop at Freddy’s on the way home from Vegas. We opted for the Original Double because their patties are flattened, with grilled onions. We also tried the chicken sandwich. Kids got a hot dog and a grilled cheese. I was very impressed with the steakburger, the flavors are spot on. The chicken sandwich wasn’t very special. The hot dog was just a hot dog. The grilled cheese was massive, they used really thick bread. My kids loved it. We also decided to try one of their concretes, well, «I» wanted to try it. I ordered the turtle concrete. I was quite disappointed because it wasn’t think at all. Concretes are supposed to be ‘concrete’ after all, nice and thick. It was more like a malt, IMO. Overall, I would definitely come back for the steakburger, if and when I’m in the area again.

Let me begin by saying I am not familiar with nor do I use drugs, especially crack. However, if crack is anything like the fry sauce at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers I can understand why it’s so popular.(Oh my God, that was a terrible intro…) I’ve passed by this little gem located in Victorville, CA several times and have had it bookmarked for a while now. I had always told myself I would only stop by during a trip to/from Nevada. After stopping by recently on a trip back into California, I can honestly say I would make the hour long drive it would take me just to stop by and eat here. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and even though the place was hopping I still managed to snag a booth. Freddy’s offers typical fare for the type of establishment it is: burgers, fries, hotdogs, sandwiches, etc. Unique here, however, is their Steakburgers and their frozen custard concretes and sundaes. They have several varieties of the sundaes and concretes, or create your own, which also come in various sizes. One neat aspect is when you order, they ask if you would like your creamy delight w/your meal or after you have finished, in which case you would alert them once you have finished and they will then prepare the magic for you. On this first outing I decided to keep it simple and ordered the combo #1 which consisted of their original double burger(which I ordered w/pickles, cheese, and grilled onions), their shoestring French fries, and a drink. I also ordered a medium chocolate brownie delight concrete to try. After I picked up my food I dug in; this burger was good! I haven’t enjoyed a burger this much in quite a while. I was pleased. The fries were thin and tasted delicious as well. There was special seasoning on the table which I used, but something was missing… I walked up to the counter and there it was– the dispenser for their Fry Sauce. I filled up containers and returned to my seat. I dipped a fry in just to see what it was like and– Holy ish– I immediately dumped both containers onto my pile of fries and began scarfing. Relentlessly and without concern of what sort of starved animal I might have looked like. Several minutes later I was up again to secure two more containers of this horribly addicting additive. The concrete was also tasty; whipped cream and a maraschino cherry topped my chocolate custard w/small pieces of gooey brownie mixed in. I had waited a while to eat at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, and in my opinion it was certainly worth the wait. Everything I tried was phenomenally delish and that Fry Sauce, to quote Homer Simpson, was«groin grabbing-ly good». The service was excellent and the lobby and restroom were both clean. I can’t wait to return and shove more of their fantastic food down my gullet!

This update is dedicated to non meat eaters. Freddy’s, in my opinion, is the best fast food burger place because they have an actual veggie burger on the menu. On a pit stop to Vegas, Sonic would be our go-to. There aren’t a lot of vegetarian options here. Just a whole bunch of things you can order without meat, which was what I used to do. Point, Freddy’s. Sonic’s milkshakes are made with soft serve, while Freddy’s uses frozen custard. Point, Freddy’s. If you want to pit Five Guys and In-N-Out against Freddy’s, Freddy’s wins every time. Grilled cheese animal style comes with tomato, pickles, lettuce and two slices of melted cheese with housemade thousand island and grilled onions. Five Guys has an option of a veggie sandwich and a grilled cheese, but I’m still unsure what the difference is. Getting to add mushrooms to your burg is a nice touch, but their sandwiches are probably the tiniest ones of the group. Good thing I always fill up on peanuts beforehand. I’ve never been to Steak ‘n Shake, but looking through their menu, it looks like the veggie options are only vegetarian by omission of meat. Freddy’s, thanks for thinking of your vegetarian patrons. You make me look forward to that long car ride through the desert.

A fast food joint with high Unilocal ratings must be good… and it is. For a quick and casual burger place, it’s a worthy stop along your drive to/from Vegas. They’re known for steak burgers and frozen custard, but they serve other options such as hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and patty melts. Their chili cheese fries looked really good too. I had the Single Steakburger California style($ 4) and shared their Freddy’s Fries. If you’re really hungry, make sure to get a double. Their burger patties, although flavorful, are smashed super thin. Getting a burger California style means you get cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato and Freddy’s sauce. I forgot to mention I wanted my onions grilled and they didn’t ask, so I got stuck with gross raw onions. Don’t make that mistake! Their fries are shoestring so they’re very thin. I like my fries a little thicker(so I don’t feel like I have to eat a ton to be satisfied), but they were still good. They have their own seasoning that you can sprinkle on them. Besides ketchup, they also have a thousand island-like dressing readily available which is nice. You can’t come here and not try their frozen custard. In a sundae or a concrete(blended), the custard is creamy and delicious. I got a regular size Signature Turtle Concrete($ 5). My eyes were bigger than my stomach because the mini size would’ve been good enough. The Signature Turtle has fudge, caramel, pecans and whipped cream… a magical combination! The service inside was fast, but you can also go through their drive-thru. For a standard cheeseburger, I would still choose In N Out. But if I’m in the mood for something different, I would come here.

While we were driving out to Arizona, we passed by this location( ) on the way through Victorville and immediately made the decision to make this our stop on the return trip home. I bookmarked the place and we continued onto Fort Mohave. Two days later, after bidding my parents a fond farewell, we were on the road again and heading home. We arrived in Victorville hungry and stopped at Freddy’s( ) to fill up our human tanks. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded when we entered and we were able to walk right up to a register. The young lady working behind the counter was friendly and very helpful when we told her we were«virgins.» The menu( ) consists of Made to Order Savory Sandwiches(Steakburgers, Grilled Chicken and Veggie), Delicious Dogs(Vienna Beef Hot Dogs), Other Favorites(Chicken Tenders, Chili and Sides), Kids Meals and Custard(Sundaes, Dish /Cake Cone, Waffle Cone, Shake /Malt and Concretes). Freddy’s also has a variety of combo options. After a short perusal of the menu, we were ready to order. The better half ordered the Double Steakburger California Style Combo( ) and the«Choco-holic» in her couldn’t resist upgrading to a Mini Chocolate Concrete with Hot Fudge mixed in. I chose to go with the Bacon & Cheese Double Steakburger( ) Combo and upgraded to a Regular Signature Turtle Concrete. The concretes( ) were ready in about two minutes and Laina and I thought both were fantastic. The custard probably isn’t as good as the custards from the Midwest(could use some more egg yolk), but the flavors were good and consistency was comparable to a Blizzard which is why they give you a spoon instead of a straw. Even though the burgers were ready a few minutes later, the concretes barely survived until the rest of the food showed up. I have said it before, don’t let your lunch /dinner spoil your dessert! Rohlinism: It is great when you discover a restaurant that shares your dining philosophies! The burgers and fries were both served hot and you can tell the burgers are made with leaner meat, but were still juicy. The patties are smashed so thin my better half wasn’t sure she had two patties until she opened her burger. The patties are also on the smaller side(again think In-N-Out) with each patty being about 2 ounces. Laina liked the chopped onions on her burger and made a favorable comparison to the In-N-Out Double Double. We usually disdain thin shoestring fries, but these were a hit with both of us and there was a good pile of them in both our baskets. I really liked the long pickle slices as opposed to the regular hamburger chips you find on most burgers. There was a good amount of bacon on the burger as well. The Freddy’s Sauce is a mayonnaise /ketchup mixture a la In-N-Out or the extinct Fry Sauce at Sonic(R. I. P.). Freddy’s also has a fry seasoning similar to Red Robin’s Signature Blend Seasoning. Laina liked the Freddy’s sauce and felt it added to the flavor of the burger without drowning out the taste of the meat. I used the seasoning on my fries and thought it was a good balance of ingredients that added something to the fried potatoes. A member of the staff came by and removed the baskets and cups as we finished with our food and asked us how we enjoyed everything. The employees we had interaction with were friendly and seemed to be happy working at this location. For me, this is the new«gold standard» for fast food burgers in California and a must stop on trips to /from Arizona and Nevada.

We occasionally stop here on the way to or from Las Vegas. Sometimes just to get their frozen custard, other times to get a burger or both. The service is friendly and quick. They make your burger fresh while you wait and you can have it made the way you like it. The buns are soft and I like my onions grilled. The burgers are juicy and meaty. But the main reason I stop here is for the frozen custard. It’s so creamy and smooth, never icy. I love the signature pecan turtle sundae that comes with hot fudge and toasted pecans. The staff are so nice here, and will bring you extra sauce and nuts if you ask! Not as good as Wisconsin frozen custard, but it sure puts a smile on my face and makes my tummy happy. I will be back for more

After back to back trips for the Laughlin Annual NFL Kickoff weekend that had Freddy’s as the return lunch menu I figured it was time to review. So Freddy supposedly got his first steak-burger while in on a trip to Cali post WW2 with his family so it seemed befitting to try Freddy’s at his Victorville California venue. Can’t say I’ve ever had a «steakburger per say» anywhere else but I have eaten similarly cooked burgers. Thin pressed, seasoned, with a nice little crispiness on the circumference and edges of the patty. FOOD Freddy’s burgers are different from most fast food joints as they are made from a course ground beef that’s smashed very thin while cooking(under weight?) on the flat top. Salt and pepper seem to be the seasoning of choice while cooking but Freddy’s offers a F’s seasoned salt you can add to it but I only used it on the shoe string fries for a nice basket of fries. They give you mega copious amounts of the fries with your combo order. On my first trip to Freddy’s my order got screwed up. My bro Brad and I accidentally switched our burgers. He got my Hatch Burger No worries after a couple bites we were both happy with what we were eating. And I’m not sure why F’s gets a bad wrap for being slow? Both of my trips have been during lunch time and while there were a few folks ahead of us it didn’t take any longer than In & Out does. I had the double cheeseburger the first time and it really hit the spot. A nicely seasoned double with melty cheese and the pickle spears make this burger. This what my body needed after a hard partying weekend in Vegas’s armpit… Laughlin. A perfectly smashed and cooked burger. Liked the mega pile o shoestring taters that come with. Never soggy and tasted good with Freddy’s fry sauce. A kind of 1000 island deal for your fries. Next trip I had the double Hatch Chili burger(the one I got switched up on the year before). Hell yea this burger had some tasty mild Hatch chilies that put it over the top for me. This is one I’d recommend to all. So tasty in fact that I ordered a double cheeseburger to wash it down. Next time I’ve promised my self to try the deserts. But the burgers are so good I tend to fill up on them before desert comes into the picture. My only gripe with Freddy’s is that they got no OC/LA spots. Hopefully that will change soon. So good but so far from home! The place is dressed up in red and white like I&O with nostalgic pics if Freddy’s family. Its a pretty clean joint with equally clean restrooms. A great spot to hit up on the way back from Vegas. I’ll be back!

This is a must stop every time I head out to Las Vegas. With only 2 in California, this fast food joint is a real treat! The steak burgers here are delicious. From what I can tell, a steak burger is a burger with a very very very thin hamburger patty. These are served with pickles and onions. The very thin meat is always juicy and tasty. The pickles and onions compliment it perfectly. This place serves thin cut french fries which are great with the nacho cheese and jalapenos. This place also has the best ice cream from any fast food restaurant ever. They use custard here– not sure what this means but its yummmms.
